One of the worst local companies I've ever dealt with. Avoid at all costs. Bait and switch, left us…read morehanging with a leak for months, charged us for a visit even though after they disappeared for months and refused to provide the information that we contracted them for. Greg the owner is a particularly horrible person to deal with. He's a giant bully and I'm very upset that my neighbors caved to his threatening us by paying them for nothing. Seriously the worst. Can't believe they are even still in business. RE Greg's reply, saying he never dealt with me is an outright lie. I had both text and phone conversations with multiple people at Occidental including Greg, and we have emails to show that we specifically requested parts information and were told the way to get that was to complete an inspection. Everything in my review and this follow up is documented in writing. The tech who did the inspection told us in person as well that he'd provide that information within a few days, but we never heard from him and our follow ups to him went unanswered. Greg then specifically told me to follow up with him, not Noah, but claimed they don't provide that kind of part information, which they would have needed to tell us when we requested it instead of saying to get an inspection to do so. At each stage, nobody at Occidental seemed to even know what the issue with our system was! Noah had not been told anything prior to the inspection, and when we tried to follow up neither Ava in the office nor Greg seemed to have gotten any information from Noah's inspection. The repair estimate Greg refers to was not for the correct issue we had, and would have done work that Noah told us at the inspection was not needed. We repaired our system using a different company who of course is licensed! Why would you use a company that can't even communicate between their own staff? That Greg then billed us for the inspection anyway is beyond unreasonable.

Cutting edge tech, materials and thought processes. That achieves a high end result when the RIGHT PEOPLE are doing the work. So I did my research. I asked all kinds of companies for bids. I had a guy spit on my sidewalk while dropping eff bombs in front of my wife during the walk around. (I didn't even allow him to finish just invited him off the premises ) to other guys offering WAY LESS for WAY MORE $. Then I had people telling me that what I wanted was impossible. So one day. I'm at work and a dude comes in with his company car. A Tesla. And dude is wearing a Tesla shirt. And I ask dude what division of Tesla he works in ? The power wall division. (SCORE !!) so in the course of conversing with this dude I drop that I need a trustworthy , intelligent , forthright and upstanding Tesla power wall / solar system installer / vendor. Dude says. "How about .. like maybe the guy that worked on designing the systems and then opened his own company ?" Ummm YEAH DUDE !! Exactly like that. "Well then. Call Marcello at Coastside Clean Energy !" I did. Marcello met me on my schedule. He explored our build site and seemed genuinely jazzed for us. Shortly after the bid. My super genius electrical engineer friend geeked out on their bid and sent me a 9 PAGE (annotated ) email evaluating the bid. There was electrical wizardry mentioned. Lotsa techno jargon and something about "killa this and Watta that" essentially stuff that made my head itch. But. The last line did it. "And in conclusion. I believe this to be a well thought out. Well designed and very fairly priced proposal. I'd do it exactly this way ." Signed the deal w Marcelo. He worked directly with my roofer and general contractor. Humphrey was phenomenal in comms and follow through. And they returned promptly when I requested a follow up visit to address some minor stuff. I work fine auto repair. I'm the son of a fine finish carpenter. I was taught to work by a WWII Marine that then became a USAF fighter pilot. (Dude was all about discipline and details. ). I am a stickler for quality and I can become a real A Hole if things aren't done with precision , care , thought , respect and professionalism. That said. I recognized the quality from Coastside Clean Energy as soon as I walked the job. Marcello and Humphrey are friendly. Genuine. Smart as heck Electromages and they wield their solar magic with style and finesse. I'm 100% satisfied with my experience doing business with these fine gentlemen.
