Came for the Mongolian BBQ, ended up grabbing a plate of some pretty great Chinese food! Food was laid out, buffet-style, noodles and toppings bar for the Mongolian BBQ on your right and center stage was the Chinese buffet. Tried an assortment - sweet BBQ pork, orange chicken, fried rice, noodles, spicy mushrooms, golden shrimp, and kung pao chicken. Sweet BBQ pork: was not bad! Meat was easy to chew through, no noticeable fatty pieces, dish was a tad too sweet for my liking but was not overwhelmingly sweet - good balance and flavor. Fried rice: good - wouldn't knock over anyone to get a serving, but good enough that I'd be upset if they were out that day. Same goes for pretty much every dish except the BBQ pork. Orange chicken: solid! I usually avoid the bigger pieces because there's usually a higher chance you'll get a piece that's chewy or has that weird chicken cartilage bite that makes me rethink all my life choices that have led me here, but happy to announce that wasn't the case here! No cartilage chicken! All yummy! Golden shrimp: might be giving this a completely different name as this particular dish I've seen named as Walnut Shrimp in other restaurants, but this place didn't have walnuts in it so here's a rough description so you know what the heck I'm talking about: crispy shrimp, like orange chicken kind of breading, but it's covered in white stuff (lol), semi-sweet and jokes aside the sauce is flavorful and the shrimp were good too, no rubber tire shrimp here. Kung pao chicken: missing peanuts (I think - someone may have hoarded all of them) so that'd be the only minus for me but same story as the orange chicken, no pieces of chewy fat or cartilage, so another solid pick! Mushrooms: these things were the highlight for me. Spicy, mildly tangy, and whole fat mushroom for my earth lovers. All this for under $10 for me. They charge by the pound, so you can try squeezing as much food into your container as you like, just know they'll weigh it. Good amount of seating, casual dining spot. Nice service as well, entered and was greeted pretty quickly and asked if we'd been there before then had a brief explanation to the process of grabbing the food and paying - short and sweet & much appreciated! Going in it bad upbeat music as background noise, the service is good. When you walk in there are trays of food and you can serve yourself as much or as little and of anything there is since it's priced by weight. I appreciate how it's not hot nor cold inside and the lighting is dim and restroom is usually always clean (it really depends on the customers) I like how no one hovers over you and everyone minds there own business. The hype behind this place is they cook the food in front of you. So they have a food bar where you can pick and choose what food you want. The food they must cook is in another bar section. Impression at first is hey pretty cool but when I went up to the cooked food bar I got mostly broccoli and no meat since people were taking all the meat and no broccoli. They constantly refill both sections with food and are polite. They charge a pretty penny per pound for the food which makes sense why all the people took the meat and no broccoli. Absolutely Terrible and Unnaceptable. I ordered food for my mom and myself. I planned on taking this food to lunch for work tomorrow just to later find out the order was wrong. I opened the containers to seperate what was mine and my mothers. The receipt is correct, so I don't really understand what's so hard to read and follow directions. We wasted our money and I wasted my time. I now have no lunch and both my mother and I are allergic to peas so the food has gone completely to waste due to cross contamination. On top of that, we paid for 3 veggie rolls, NOT two. Typically small mistakes don't piss me off, but considering it seems more like they just gave us what they wanted to give us and not what we asked for, I'm pissed the hell off. $40 gone to waste. We will be reaching out to Uber Eats to get our money back in full and will never be ordering here again. What we order is not a suggestion, you don't get to pack us what you want. read more

Food (5/5): More Asian food in East LA? YES PLEASE! Mongolian BBQ in this fashion is hard to mess up because it's grilled and you pick your ingredients. What made this a 5/5 for me was the variety, and the quality of the meats. I combined pork, chicken, and beef and they were all so tender. I added onion, pineapple, zucchini, bean sprouts, and jalapeños. For the sauces, I added garlic water and lemon juice. My advice is to pour more than 2 spoonfuls to your plate for each sauce they provide because it was a little bland. I had to add soy sauce and sriracha. I haven't tried their Chinese food in the middle but I saw many customers get it and it looked delicious! Service (5/5): The staff are quite attentive! They greet you at the door and direct you to either the Mongolian BBQ or Chinese food self-service. They even ask you if you'd like to try some samples. The cooks also work quickly and thoroughly. Love this concept of Chinese fast food by the pounds. And it's hot, fresh, and delicious. I come to try the honey walnut shrimps because they look so good on yelp's photos. In person, they are even better than expected, perfectly tender, bouncy, and saucy. I fill up a small container and it costs less than $5! I also like the bbq pork char siu and orange chicken. As I'm finishing up, the busy 1pm lunch rush starts streaming in for the Mongolian grill but the line moves quickly. The guy manning the grill knows what he's doing. Meat is very flavorful. Food cooks on the grill is scooped into a non-styrofoam to-go container, lines with aluminum foil, to keep the food hot, fresh, and not soggy. It's such a small detail but not many fast food places do this! This place is hopping with pop music and the cashier is an absolute sweetheart. She recommends half pineapple and half strawberry smoothie when I ask for advice. Both food and drink hit the mark. I'm completely satisfied. I was introduced to this restaurant through TikTok. I have eaten at other Mongolian BBQ spots, with my favorite being the BIG WOK in Manhattan Beach (bomb). This place was over hyped As to the ambiance and cleanliness: This establishment gives off a fast food vibe. It does not completely feel like a sit down place although there is available seating indoor and outdoor. The location is small for the amount of traffic going in and out of the restaurant. The establishment was as clean as it could be, I supposed, considering you are allowing patrons to handle their own food. I do appreciate that they offer gloves for us to wear when handling the utensils, but it was not mandatory. Unlike BIG WOK, the food is organized in such a way that food has fallen into other bowls mixing together. If you are anal about that then you will be annoyed. Service: When we arrived I caught one of the staff who explained, in a heavy accent, what the concept of the spot was. There were a few things to choose from. I identified three proteins, one set of noodles, and the other is vegetables. Once you fill your bowl with whatever amount of food you want ($7 a pound) the chef will cook the food out in the open and hand it to you in a ToGO box. While this restaurant offers the BBQ experience, it also provides a variety of of other foods including sweet and sour pork, vegetables egg rolls , fried rice, and chow mein, bread. We also ordered a milk tea and Thai milk tea. The Thai tea was weak!! The food was MID Overall the food totaled up to $40. Overall would I return? Probably not read more

We had the orange chicken, honey walnut shrimp and (I think the red one is pork). Anyways, the orange chicken and the shrimp were both cold. I would not recommend the Chinese food at all. The Mongolian BBQ was good. They had fresh veggies and many protein options (beef, chicken, pork and shrimp). Similar setup to the Mongolian BBQ that you'd see at the malls, but the mall one has more flavor. I think it's because the mall uses full on garlic and this place uses garlic water. We ordered the slushy drinks twice. We asked the cashier to mix Mango-Pineapple and she said okay, turned around and gave us Mango-Stawberry lmao. I'll give the place another star or 2 when they know how to give me the correct change back. I was curious to know how much one of the trays were. The person on the counter took 1 tray out so I can see how much 1 was priced at. Then she put it back along with a napkin and fork to be weighed which caused the original price to increase. I pointed it out but I guess she was too tired and disregarded it, and on top of it all, she gave me the incorrect change back. Another low maintenance restaurant where you serve yourself is expected now, but getting the thimble full plastic water cup after I've done the paying, selecting, serving, bussing, seems a bit tight-fisted-seniors need to be hydrated, everyone needs to hydrate! Solid spot if you are craving Mongolian bbq. This very much reminds me of one of those places you would find in a mall food court. They have all the veggies and meats laid out for you to select and they charge per pound.
