Locals here. We have picked up from Sunset Grill before. This time was a disaster. Ordered online with Menufy. Never got an email confirmation but my card was charged. Restaurant didn't have my order when I arrived to pick it up. I stepped outside to figure out next steps when the hostess came running out to say she did have my order. We agreed to wait 20 min. At 20 min mark she realized she did not have my order. "Oops". Our last meal there was messed up too but we didn't discover it until we got home. Based on the reviews I wasn't expecting exceptional, but I was really disappointed. The Greek salad looked beautiful with TONS of feta cheese but had mostly the core of a head of lettuce and not a fan of the dressing. The gyro was not good meat and not large and sparse on the toppings The tzatziki was wonderful! Hubby thought his steak sandwich was fine but it did not taste good to me. Fries were good. Really busy night. They weren't seating more folks when we arrived at 6:20, but we had reservations. Small place with a few tables coke products, tea, lemonade and water. No bar. Dinner service only with plans to add lunch later. We started with the BABA GHANOUSH, Island Fries, ZA'ATAR PITA PIZZA, and LAHM BI AJEEN. My favorite was the Smoky baba ghanoush. Regardless of the reviews, I attempted to try this restaurant for take-out and had a similar experience as others. When I called during their hours of operation, roughly an hour before closing, I was told they were temporarily closing early and would re-open the following day at 4pm. Great place in the old Swain's building next to Publix's. The stuffed grape leaves were five star. The hummus was tasty, but I needed more heat. The tzatziki was the bomb. Come in little side cups. Must order two. All severed with small pieces of flat bread. We had the beef and lamb wrap which was good. Also had a chicken wrap which was very light and tasty. Did not notice any alcohol for sale. They have an attached ice cream and coffee shop. We had a double latte and a highway 66. Both outstanding. The owner's were super friendly. Look forward to our next visit. read more

When I wrote a review two months ago. It was 5 stars. The food quality has since shifted for the worse. The Sumac Salad went from a tart seasoned fresh made salad with an original meat x including sumac and herbs. What we got tonight was a handful of premade salad mix. Tonight's Pita was undercooked. My sisters and I ate at the Sunset Grill at 205 Wellington St. West on Dec 26 , 2024. We had the most amazing experience. We had the best waitress, a lovely lady named Kayne ( pronounced "Cain''). She was so hospitable and had a very inviting and lovely personality. She was warm and welcoming and she was extremely attentive. The service was very efficient and exceeded our expectations. We didn't have to ask for coffee refills. Kayne knows and understands hospitality . My sisters and I ordered pancakes with scrambled eggs, hashbrowns and coffee. The food was delicious and very affordable. I couldn't ask for a better experience. The ambience is warm and friendly . I highly recommend this wonderful place to anyone looking for a warm , genuine and inviting experience. Amazing food and amazing service is one of Toronto's hidden gems. read more

Door dash pickup was a little slow however I love the Sunset bowl. Lots of meat but was hoping for a little bit more rice. My wife tried the chicken bowl but it was the opposite of mine since it had more rice and very little protein. All in all the food is tasty and location is easy to get to. Went with my girlfriend the eating area was small and looked slightly aged. the hummus was bland and gritty: the oil, lemon juice, and spices visually on top disappears completely when you taste it. The beef and lamb gyro wrap was ok not exactly worth the $14, though the chicken shawarma wrap was not enjoyable. however that might be mainly due to personal preference but not sure. The plantain chips served on the side struggle with flavor similarly to the hummus. Overall not a great experience would recommend finding a different place to eat read more

I never review restaurants, but I was so bummed with my order- I gotta speak. I was definitely stoked when I heard we were getting a Mediterranean restaurant. I went in the second week and ordered a lamb and beef gyro and an order of fries. The last Gyro I had was at Peno's in Myrtle Beach, and I had eaten at the same chain in Wilmington several times. Their gyros literally take two hands to hold and the meat is served in large nuggets throughout the sandwich, with loads of tzatziki sauce. The one I got here, was nothing like that. Tiny strips of meat, extra crispy with a splash of sauce. If a Mediterranean style restaurant can't do a proper Gyro, then there's really no point in eating anything else there. read more

A relatively new restaurant on Oak Island that is serving Mediterranean (Lebanese) food in a small but comfortable dining experience. We ordered stuffed grape leaves, falafel, baklava and the Mahi-mahi Bowl. I particularly liked the Mahi-mahi bowl. The fish was well seasoned and perfectly cooked. It was served with salad and seasoned rice. I ordered our food for take out and was it ready and hot on-time. The Sunset Grill food is a very welcomed addition to Oak Island. read more

My wife and I moved here last August. We are regulars at the OKI Coffee Shop which is also the same owners as Sunset Grill. We ate here the first weekend they opened in January and I had the chicken gyro and my wife had the swish tawook. They both were dry and lacking flavor. We gave the feedback to one of the owners. We ordered the same thing this past week and my wife snd I agreed the food was amazing! The meat was moist and both the gyro and the tawook were bursting with flavor! The next day we went to the OKI coffee shop and told one of the owners that the gyro and the tawook were excellent. He said they made adjustments to the food based on feedback from yhe customers. Now that's the way to operate a successful restaraunt! If you are a local or just a vacationer, highly recommend you check this place out! read more

We ate here a month ago and thought it was pretty good. Sadly our repeat visit last week was disappointing. Grape leaves were much smaller than before, sampler platter not worth $16. Two of us purchased Chicken Gyros and the meat resembled strips of cardboard. I asked if it was actually chicken and they said it was??? We had a child with an egg allergy and no one there could tell us if the hamburger buns contained egg. The only positive was the tabouli. Will not go back. read more

I always hesitate to write a bad review for a business and I've thought about this for a month. We were excited to try this new restaurant. I specifically called and asked if all the bowls they offer had rice. Was told yes. Picked up our to go order. It was the 2nd worst food I've ever had since living down here. Tasteless, blah, no rice in either bowl. Asked for extra sauce. Received none. The food wasn't even hot and my husband stood waiting for 10 minutes to get it. I'd skip this place or maybe give them some more time to work out the kinks. read more
