Okay, I've been coming here off and on since I was 14. I am now 22. I believe I've had enough experience to write an honest and knowledgeable review. First off, sunset nails customer service is a -2/10 for me. There's been too many times that I have gone in here in a great mood, & left pissed off because the vibes in the place are just horrible. For example, as I've stated; I've been going here for years. I've Greeted the owner by name, every single time I've seen her. And she has yet to learn mine, despite the many times I've told her while booking an appointment. And speaking of appointments, I have never once actually gotten sat at the time of my appointment. Every single time (& never have I been late) I've gone in for my appointment, I've had to wait because they took someone else instead. And as far as the quality of their work goes, it's horrible. It looks decent for the first 1-3 days, but it doesn't last long. The Gel peels, acrylics lift, and raise. and the cuticle area where the nail meets your skin turns an ugly white color. Also, couldn't count the number of times I've noticed my set being uneven. (one/two nails shorter or longer than the rest) oh, and crooked. To the point it started to deform my real nail/nail bed. the ONLY reason I kept coming to this place is because their prices are good. But not anymore. I will happily pay the extra $10.00 somewhere else for high quality work that lasts, and service that leaves me feeling happy and pampered. read more

If you're in a pinch and you can't get into your normal nail salon, this would be the place to go. They got me in right away as a walk-in and I was able to get a manicure. However, this place is an absolute mess. There is no organization anywhere, it's dirty, and mediocre at best. It's also cash or Check only. The gel is applied nicely, but my nails look nubby because the cuticles weren't pushed back like other salons do. Contrary to an earlier reviewer, they did massage my hands and arms and cut the cuticles. If you're into 3D and/or acrylics It looks like they do a lot of this and normal, everyday manis aren't their forte. $30 for shellac mani is cheap but you get what you pay for. read more

I had a pedicure and shellac my sissy had the same I absolutely love this place I will definitely be coming back I just don't know what else to say The Price is Right everything is perfect the only one downfall is they do not take credit card. read more

Alright, I've tried multiple nail places and NONE is like sunset. I am picky because I used to get stiletto and that was it, now I'm a coffin nail girl. and they are absolutely FLAWLESS with it. They sharpen the nails perfectly and if you had any special requests they always work with you. I've never once had a bad experience with them and I don't think I ever will. Yes, the environment is a little run down and messy. But what do you expect for a place that's so affordable? They know what they're doing. I'm trying so hard to find a new nail place that's closer to Aurora that can fulfill my nail needs and this the best I have still. TIPS: BRING CASH. They have an atm next door but who wants to pay a fee for an atm. Also there will be a little wait, it's always busy. But they're quick about it so it won't ever be too long. They didn't do my nails like I wanted them to the man was very ruff doing my nails I told them the color I wanted them and at the end it turned out they didn't have it they also charged me 27 but it was 22 it said in the poster outside of the place I left with just the acrylic nails with no design , I also asked if I can wear a mask the women at the front who was also doing a customers nails told her to put on a mask and they were also 5 other women with no mask I am also Mexican I believe that they were quite racist might just be me but still don't come here go somewhere else read more

I won't go back. The experience was uncomfortable and not relaxing. Kids running around everywhere and bolded signs that read "We have the right to refuse service. Cash only." The woman who did my toes ate dinner while she finished my pedi, asked for payment, then left without saying anything. I had to hobble over to the front desk and ask for the foam flip flops. Also, a homeless man wondered in and started yelling. It took them 10 minutes to usher him out. Very strange. If you want a relaxing mani/pedi look elsewhere. read more

This place has went so downhill I wish I could give it zero Stars but I can't. Definitely a hole in the wall place. But suffice it to say you get what you pay for. I don't know the name of the guy who did my nails, but he was about as friendly as a scorpion. He did not greet me, no smile even - just "go pick color over there", so I did. I just wanted some nice nails for the holidays but didn't want to spend a ton. When we discussed how much to cut down he was annoyed when had to tell him 3x to go just a tiny bit shorter. When he was filing and I asked him to go just a little bit more narrow, I thought he was going to come unglued. He rolled his eyes like how dare I ask for ANY extra service when I'm only spending $20. The only time he seemed nice was after I gave him a $5 tip (I always treat service people well and I never stoop to someone else's level of rudeness - I like to sleep well lol). Came here several times to simply get my shellac removed as it is closer to home than my regular salon. What could go wrong? I was helped by a young man. He immediately starting FILING off my SHELLAC with a DREMEL TOOL. I stopped him, thinking he had maybe mistaken my polish for acrylic, letting him know that this was not how they usually remove my polish. He grabbed my hand said "it's fine" and went right back to basically sanding my nails off. I was so shocked and taken back that i just let him finish. That was 3 weeks ago. My nails are still so brittle that they are chipping off daily. NEVER AGAIN. Side note: Said technician was face timing with his girlfriend the ENTIRE time he helped me. Awkward! read more

My nails came out ok. My main complaint is it was soooooo dirty in there. There is literally a pile of nail dust in every shelf you look and the chairs they sit on have nail dust as well as all the material the use to do nails. I won't be back fungal infections are no joke. read more

Pricing is well worth everything else I am going to post here. FREE designs! Can't beat it. Sorry, I drive a long way to go here and it is only because the pricing is so amazing. Avoid weekends if you are able. The place is so busy it is a mad house (shoulder to shoulder) . During the weekdays it isn't too bad, but still crazy busy. The cleanliness is a little lower than what I would want in a salon, but I have been going here for almost 5 years and have not had an issue with an infection or any other concerns. The salon staff speak broken English, they chatter a lot among themselves in their native language which is always awkward because you never know if they are talking about you or someone you know. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable though, they have skill in designs too. They do so many designs that when you see other salons designs they look amateur and you know they cost a heck of a lot more. Wish they would open another salon South. read more

This place is so gross but it is still unbelievably busy - I was surprised to find the place packed full on a Thursday afternoon. I got a pedicure and didn't want to sit back in the filthy chair. The salon is an absolute mess! I can't even believe what a disaster it is. A woman next to me got a pedicure and they didn't even sanitize the tub when she was done. Gross!! Most filthy nail salon I have ever seen. The place looks like it hasn't been cleaned in years. Most importantly, the files and nail equipment look dirty as well. Worst customer service as well. This place really is kinda gross. It smells really strongly of the chemicals they use, and the tools don't really look clean. They always have a crazy wait because they are cheap-20 for a pedi and that includes a design if you want one. Minimal massaging of your legs is the only pampering. I've been hurt by the pedicurist more than once on the same pedi-cutting the quick of my nail bed because they were clipping so close. Won't be back, there are a million places and I would rather shell out an extra 5-10 bucks to feel pampered. read more

I used to love this place. It has always been busy and they want to get you in and out but it is one thing when they are just straight up rude to you!. I went there 3 weeks ago to get a rebase and the older lady with glasses literally told me my nails are ugly and disgusting because I had a bad Polish job. She sighed constantly while doing my nails and then to top it off when she used the dremal tool to file my nails she ran it over my skin multiple times, I didn't think anything of it til I started to bleed. Then while I had my head turned she put super glue over all the spots that were bleeding. My fingers hurt for days. I've been coming here for the last few years with hit & miss service. And my last 2 visits were just ok at best. My nail tech was somewhat rude and snappy to me and another customer. I try my best to stick to one nail tech as I like their work, however that nail tech as of recent has become very whiny and rude about her own clients. Just not ok with me. On top of that she has gotten very bossy with her clients (me included) saying she can charge what she wants. Watch out for her... 4th chair on the left!! This last time I saw a nail tech who've I've gone to a few times over the years and she does a very good job, this time however the atmosphere was just off.... A new young male nail tech was very loud and yappy (talkative). While this salon can be louder than most he was talking above the techs and customers. I will never return to this nail salon, they have lost my business and I plan on letting everyone know about my experience. I have been to Sunset Nails a number of times without any issues until this week. I brought my little sister in for her first manicure. She was finished 15 minutes before me, the woman didn't clean her cuticles, and didn't massage her hands. Her nails started chipping the next day (we got shellac). My manicure was almost equally sucky, and on 4 fingers I have terrible hang nails that are incredibly painful that showed up the next day. for $60 for the two of us, I feel completely ripped off. I'm definitely telling all of my friends. Pink and White nails in Belmar is an amazing nail salon and I would recommend checking them out, I wish I had driven the extra mile to go see them instead. read more
