I love this place! They have the best selection of hats and snacks. Last night I stopped by in an electric car and couldn't figure out how to turn off the emergency lights. 2/3/2025 Got gasoline and paid with CASH. Gas came out of the pump, not sure what all the comments are talking about. The size of the inside is large and has just the right selection of things. If you smoke, drink, or looking for a quick snack. Purchased a Clipper lighter which is not common to find outside of smoke shops, not expensive. I'm not a white collar worker or movie star, and the service was good. read more

The service here is always great! But the prices for the quality you get are not worth it. Got a small 12oz black coffee that has residue of coffee grounds in it for $2.39. I asked the cashier if the price was correct when he rung me up & he confirmed. read more

I got gas from there. Used my credit card. They put $175.00 hold on the card. I called about the charge they absolutely lied and said " your cc company did that" which first of all is the dumbest thing to say to someone who gets gas weekly for decades using multiple credit cards. I called the cc company they said "no we don't do that Sunset oil gas station did that". Will never ever visit this place again. Don't lie to your customers! You'll lose them for good! read more

I was honestly shocked at the poor customer service until I read these other reviews. Seems like the owner and his employees are notorious for treating their customers like sh**! I purchased what I thought (and what the clerk told me was) was what I was looking for. Only to open the package and find that it was not. With the box and product still in tact, I try to return it. The employees told me they are unable to authorize refunds and that I'd have to come in the next day to see the manager. I come the next day (from santamonica) to find the manager is not there and instead a rude clerk who could barely be bothered to make a simple phone call to the missing manager. In their conversation I over heard the manager say "well can I sell it? Tell him to come tomorrow" Needless to say, I'm not making the trip just to be denied a refund by the rude, money hungry people that run this establishment. In my opinion and clearly the opinion of Sunset oils previous customers, drive a few blocks down to the next gas station. read more

Great location, minimal options on Sunset and this is a one stop shop. The store was fully stocked and clean. Great prices too.

I bought 2 gallons of unleaded for the Prius (which only holds about 6 gallons) but it didn't move the needle. I complained and they shrugged. I do not think any gas was pumped. I went to another station and bought gas and sure enough the needle moved. Something fishy here! read more

I would give them no star but because I had to choose one I did. I can't believe that you cannot use your debit card for lottery tickets , debit cards are like cash PEOPLE you have to have cash in your account in order for it to work I could see not being able to use a credit card!! you guys are crazy and the man in there is rude! read more

I was going to buy gas here, I went in to see what kind of food they have, generally all crap! I went out to make a phone call and cashier or owner A Hole tells me I can't park there...considering I was going to buy gas for my new Lincoln SUV you lost over $100 considering your I rip you off gas prices....what an A hole and bad business person! read more

BofA called me and let me know my debit card was compromised here. Be careful, one of their pumps has the security tape cut around the debit card reader, sketchy. I didn't notice till after I had pumped my gas, and thought it was strange. Hopefully they've fixed it. Make sure to check before pumping gas at this location. Nothing bad to say about the station or people, but certainly not safe at the moment. read more

I had to use the bathroom but the employee said that the owner would not allow it and had cameras in his office to make sure of that. Who treats customers or human beings this way? I wouldn't give this man a penny. I don't know what country you are from, but I remember when gas stations treated their customers with kindness and respect. Friendly, good location for grabbing a bite to eat before a gig at Whisky a Go Go across the street.

It's close to me but they're always very expensive gas. Not worth it unless it's an emergency.
