It's clean, it's in a safe neighborhood, there's usually parking out front, the dryers are cheap & dry fast and the off-site owner refunds any lost quarters by mail (really!) Plus, there are great restaurants within 3 blocks so you can do laundry & grab a bite. And there are always current, non-smudgy, magazines and free Wi-Fi so your 90 minutes pass quickly. This place is not safe do not come here. I tried doing my laundry here and instead got assaulted by a vagrant person who likes to frequent the space for their own personal use. I pass by this place almost daily and have always liked the sign. Recently I had an oversized comforter to wash so I stopped in. It was clean and safe and there was parking out front. I generally like using this place because it's clean and convenient. There have been times where the dryers have eaten my quarters and while most of the time it's not worth getting a refund for, I was tired of it continuing to happen this time around so I decided to ask for a refund. I received a letter that said "we checked our cameras and notice that you only put in $0.50 to dry a blanket and some clothes on _____. $0.50 will only get you 10 minutes on the dryer which will probably not be enough to dry your blanket and some clothes. We also checked the dryer and its working. At this moment in time, we are unable to refund you $0.50." The thing is--the $0.50 I inserted was after the machine ate my quarters! I knew fifty cents wasn't going to dry them completely but I was so fed up that I just needed the clothes/blankets to get to a reasonably dry place to take them home. The machine was *definitely not working* when I tried it. Normally I'd chalk it up to an anomaly but considering it's happened before, it seems like a pattern. I understand the need to be thorough and there are probably people who are trying to rip them off, but receiving this letter was frustrating. I also texted and emailed them about a man who's been in there during covid repeatedly with no mask (one time eating ribs of all things), taking up space, staring at me, but received no response, which is disheartening. read more

This was a week ago, I took my four weeks of dirty clothes to the local laundromat because I didn't feel like doing them at home especially when you got four loads and the waiting time can be gruesome. Thanks to their huge 40lbs. washing machine, I was saved. So if you have any problems, put the "Broken, will fix later" sign on the washer or dryer, they will gladly fix the problem and send you a letter of apology. Update: 5 stars, because I witnessed with my own eyes the letter that was sent to Stanley K. That's customer service for you right there buddy. This place is less than 1/2 a block from my house. It's always clean and as Kathryn T said yes I have witnessed people cleaning it. Yesterday I walked in and did my eyes deceive me? It was freshly painted with art hanging on the walls. Plus some thoughtful soul had put out magazines and books. Of course I never read here, because I just go back to my house or get lunch at one of the nearby restaurants (Yummy Yummy's). So laundry now has become a pleasant chore, because I am the patron of the cutest laundromat around. Even the bear sign out front brings a smile to my face. read more

Clean and does the job. The dryers only take 30-40 minutes to dry my clothes which is great. There are only a few washers that I avoid that have a musty smell to them. Most of the top loading ones are fine. read more

Variety of washing machines that seem to work well, including top-loading and front loading that cost about $2.50 per wash. The two large load washers cost $5.50 as of this post. (Pro tip: if the electronic display isn't working, just hit the machine a few times with your palm right below the display and it should light up.) The dryers are large and offer high-temp, perm press, and delicate settings. you might have to wait for a dryer during busy hours (e.g. Saturday, Sunday midday). 3-4 of the 8 total dryers usually have "Out of Service" signs on them. Twice I've seen other people just tear off the sign and use the machines anyway... I can't vouch for how good/bad that idea is. The place is fairly clean and the other patrons are nice. I wish I could give this place zero stars. I keep coming back to give it yet another try since it's so close to my apartment, but alas I am disappointed every. Single. Time. Not only is the place incredibly filthy, but half of the washers and dryers are always out of service and the floor is consistently flooded. I had to walk through a giant puddle to get my clothes out of the washer today. On top of that, every single time I've come here I've lost dollars in broken dryers that eat my quarters. Never any signs on the broken units to let you know until it's too late and all of your change is gone. If you plan to do laundry here, come prepared with a lifetime's savings worth of quarters because the change machines never work. On the rare occasion that one of them is in service, you're going to lose your money since it will be eaten by the broken washers and dryers which, by the way, charge much more than any other laundromat in the area. Also be aware of the fact that you'll spend hours here reloading your laundry into different dryers after waiting 40 minutes only to realize the one you did use didn't do anything to dry your clothes. In short, the place is dirty, way over-priced (its the most expensive laundromat in the sunset), the washers and dryers take more time than any other laundromat in the area, and even still they never work. Do yourself a favor and walk to the other laundromat a block away on 11th and Irving. I had to learn the hard way that it's cheaper and the machines take much less time. read more

Prices are decent and its right across the street. Machines almost always in good working order. Unfortunately, some vagrant drunk asses have taken over this place recently and when I call the cops they never show up. Last night they stayed inside with their booze and shopping cart all night. So I came to this place after all of my other choices were too busy. I like the location a lot, but it was the machines that irked me. I didn't experience any weirdos...thankfully...but I feel like the dryers ate my quarters. Usually it only takes me about 7 quarter to dry, but I ended up using like 10 or maybe more because I kept having to add. On top of that the digital display was broken or something so I couldn't even see how much time I had. Pretty disappointing. I must say that it was pretty clean... Unlike the other laundromats in the area, which have a subterranean feel, this one is bright and warm. Why only 3 stars? This is for sure the worst laundromat I've ever been to. To start it's super small there are only four dryers so if anybody else is doing their laundry you're probably going to have to wait. So I had an old ten dollar bill I needed change for. It wouldn't take it so I figured it was the bill not the machine because the out of service button wasn't on. Had to walk across the street to buy something to break then ten dollar bill only to find out the whole change machine wasn't working. 5 stars huh. I just don't see it. Yeah, nice bear. This place is small. In fact, it gave new definition to the word small. Everything seemed to be in working order. A few neighborhood people were here and it was too crowded, but it was a Monday night so... Some drugged out homeless lady came in, put "a" purse down on the counter, threw her clothes in the dryer, and then asked me for a quarter. I believe my response was "Sure, do you have a dollar?" I may have perplexed her or she just ignored me and then repeated some variation of the same line, "Do you have any quarters?" I said "Yeah, for my laundry." She didn't seem to pleased with that and left. Did I say she had a bunch of stuff painted on her face? Yeah. And she had shifty eye and body movements. She came back with 2 dimes and a nickel and hit up some other guy to trade for a quarter. I waited till she was gone to leave my stuff for even a second. It's strange because this laundromat is nicer than 11th and Irving, and yet I have already seen shiftier people in this one. It's the bear isn't it. The vagrants think it's one of those Grateful Dead dancing bears come to lead them to salvation, or at least to a pair of clean clothes. This place is average. The end. read more

I've never been to a real laundromat before, but since the washer is broken at my apartment, I decided to venture out and see what laundromats were all about. I'm super glad I looked on Yelp and saw the high reviews of this place. In fact, I'm so happy about it, that I'm writing this review on my iPad (using, their free wifi!) as I wait for my laundry to dry in the massive dryers. Perhaps I'm more overjoyed because my laundry isn't sopping wet and soapy like it is when I take it out of the washer at home. Decided to get some laundry done on the 4th of July. They are open until 11pm! The prices here are better than some in the area... it costs $3.50 to complete a load ($2.00 wash, $1.50 dry). Also, an employee is here cleaning while I write this review, which is pretty awesome. Yes, parking isn't great, but if you come in the evenings, the meters are off and there should be a few spots on the block. There are definitely some swankier wash places in the area (The Wash Club is cool), but Sunset Suds does the job. We usually do three loads of wash and two loads in the dryer, simply because the dryers are that good! Come clean your clothes here. :-) read more
