One of my children had gotten into my truck and inadvertently left a light on in the cab. As this occurred overnight, when I came out to my truck imagine my surprise that my battery was completely dead. I put in a request to my GMC OnStar app and Buck with Sunset towing came to the rescue. Buck was extremely polite and courteous, as well as knowledgeable. We were unable to jump the battery with a battery box because the battery was so dead. Buck had to go ahead and hook it up to the truck. It took a while for it to happen but Buck the tow truck driver was patient. He was a wonderfully nice guy that went above and beyond and as a result, I cannot recommend Sunset Towing enough. I have always had pleasant experiences with them over the years and this was no different. I wish I could give more than five stars. If you've got a lockout issue or a dead battery or are stuck on the side of the road, I highly recommend using sunset towing. You won't be disappointed. read more

Our vehicle roadside assistance sent this company to help our 17 year-old daughter with a flat tire. Last time I checked roadside assistance helps with flat tires. SMH... not this company. The driver refused to address the flat and offered to tow it to a closed dealership and abandon the brand new car there or tow it to our home (which was half the distance) for an extra $110.00. Send this company packing if your auto manufacturer refers them for any roadside assistance because they won't help with anything except emptying your kid's wallet. On a side note: I used the fix a flat that came with the car this morning to air the tire up. The same fix a flat the tow truck driver refused to use at the scene. Awful. My boyfriends mom had to use this company through her insurance To get her truck towed and what an AWFUL experience. They were extremely unprofessional. Extremely rude To her. They didn't accept The dispatch to get her, even tho she got a text saying the tow truck Was on its way to get her. After rudely telling her the dispatch was never accepted, then told her " I suggest you call your insurance" then after telling the insurance company about the experience they called this tow company and they were rude to them too! 02/03/2021 I had a horrible experience with this company. I called them for a jump on my brand new Jeep Wrangler and they ended up cracking my windshield in the process. The guy rested my hood on the windshield and I heard something but the crack didn't move up until the heat came on so they refuse to fix it since I didn't take my jeep out right away. I have tried to reach out to the owners or management and no response. Don't trust your nice vehicles with them. read more

Been waiting over two hours for them and still nothing. I've used them on several occasions and it's all been bad. The drivers are beyond knowledgeable told me it wasn't a dead battery you could tell me wanted to go home. And turned out it was. Another time waited over two hours for them to show and was kept being told they are comings with them pushing the estimated time farther and farther. Never again. I ended up getting some help from the nicest strangers I've ever met so I don't know how the toe service would have been but as I was sitting in the middle of the road for 40 minutes stuck I gave sunset towing a call as my emergency roadside service set me up with them for help on getting unstuck, anyway I gave them a call after 40 minutes simply to ask if there was an eta as I was on my way to work when I got stuck and my work needed one and the lady was so rude!! I'm sure they were busy with all the snow that's out but she did not need to belittle the amount of time I had waited in the road or speak in that tone to me that she did! Saying "it's only been 40 minutes. I'll call you when they are on their way." Is not okay when people are in situations like this! read more

on 7-31-19 I went to urgent care with an elderly person who was in pain after seeing the doctor we called sunset towing for a ride. They told me it would be a 45 min wait I was third in line, I said fine so me and the woman waited half an hour then I called them back just to get an ETA when the dispatch woman said I had called and cancelled the ride that I was sitting there waiting for so I told her I never cancelled and she was very rude then some other woman got on the phone yelling at me she was even more rude than the first woman. She said we don't even have an available taxi for you and hung up on me. Worst experience with any business I have ever had. read more

I've talked to drivers who worked for Sunset Taxi with disappointing stories, but my own experience was a smoky truck with defunct pass. seat belt, I was en route to the hospital with a medical emergency and fellow didn't even help me open the albeit heavy door- snow outside. Sunset does have typically long wait times. Short notice? Your call. I called once not too long ago (thinking they may have a lower rate than the other companies) and there was at least a one hour wait. I was talking to an older disabled man who said once he was left to wait in the summer sun close to 4 hours...before Sunset showed up. read more

Sunset sent Cody out help, he went above and beyond after trying to jump the RV which didn't work he spent an extra 1 1/2 looking for the cause of the problem all with a great attitude he didn't act like we were putting him out. Sunset Towing, and their exceptional driver Steve Smith, saved our rears yesterday. Tow truck companies were slammed with calls for service due to the inordinate amount of snow we have received. Our two vehicles were stuck on our driveway - my car in danger of rolling off into a tree. Talk about a stressful situation! Our insurance company recommended two companies, which will remain anonymous but those in Coeur d'Alene would know who they are - they both start with an "S". Five hour wait for one and put on the list. Called the other. Guy's in the area and will come out - this is after two hours from my call. Guy shows up and I call the other company off. Guy won't even drive up to my car but tows husband out, who immediately got stuck again! Guy drives off. Call other company and beg to get back on list. Very nice woman almost did but then said she had to put me on hold. Comes back and says nope, we're booked up. So I get on the Internet and providentially pick out Sunset Towing. Our savior answered - I do not have his name - the phone and said we needed a winch out and his truck was just becoming available!!! Shortly thereafter, our second savior, Steve Smith, calls. I tell him we didn't have the drive plowed. He said why is that an issue, I have 4-wheel drive and chains. OMG, after dealing with the other companies and the idiot driver, a great feeling of peace washed over me. Steve shows up, assesses the situation and went into action. After five hours, my car was finally in the garage. This man is a true professional and one we will always call for service when needed. If you want a tow service that truly cares about your circumstances and provides competent drivers, then Sunset Towing is the company for you. It was expensive but worth every dollar. The dispatcher, was snippy. When you're dead on the side of the road and you call to confirm that the towing has been sent and how long it's going to take you don't want to be treated like a five-year-old child. I ended up calling my insurance company, and canceling sunset towing. I specifically called another tow company just because of the dispatcher. read more

AAA sent Bill to rescue us at the Coeur d' Alene Resort, and he even pushed our van from the fourth floor of the parking ramp so he could load it. AAA messed the order up, but Bill was more concerned with our comfort and needs than paperwork that could be ironed out later, unlike a couple other tow drivers I've used. He towed us for almost 100 miles, and we actually enjoyed the trip because he was friendly, informative, and even fun as he drove. He also took time to make sure we could get an electric wheelchair out of the back door. If Bill is an example of Sunset's services, I recommend them to anyone. read more

Wish I didn't have to give them any stars! This was the worst company I have ever dealt with! Waited for 2 1/2 hours for them to show up to give us a tow. When they finally arrived, they attempted to come in the side of the parking lot that had a low clearance. I met the driver at the entrance and told him he just needed to drive around the block to the other entrance where there was not a low clearance to reach our vehicle. He said he had to clear it with dispatch and then he backed out and left. We thought he was driving around to the other entrance but it turns out he just left! When I called the company they said they cancelled the call with AAA. I explained to them there were two entrances to the parking lot, I was told there was nothing they could do and refused to help us. We ended up calling another company (Reliable Towing) that picked us up within the hour with no problems accessing our vehicle whatsoever. They were kind, fast and very helpful. Go with them and stay away from Sunset! read more
