We recently stopped by Lyric Cafe and Tearoom and had a very enjoyable experience…read more I don't usually order anything fancy when it comes to coffee, so I went with the house brew and kept it simple with some Splenda and heavy cream. The coffee was slightly bitter for my taste, but overall it was good and I enjoyed it. I also ordered an almond bear claw. Unfortunately, I didn't realize it contained raisins, and I'm not a fan of raisins, so I probably wouldn't have chosen it had I known. That said, the pastry itself was fresh and tasty, and the raisins were more of a personal preference issue than a problem with the food. My wife ordered an iced chai latte and absolutely loved it. She often finds chai lattes to be watered down, but she said this one was perfectly sweet, full of flavor, and one of the better ones she's had. The cafe itself is cute, very clean, and has a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The prices were also surprisingly reasonable. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely order from here again.

The croissants (chocolate and almond) were not good . They were more bread than croissant. The croissant egg and cheese sandwich was decent but nothing special. Definitely more of a beverage place than food place.

Our party of eight made reservations, but when we arrived the restaurant was nearly empty. Looking…read moreback, that probably should have been our first clue. Things went downhill from there. The appetizer we originally ordered wasn't available, so we ordered the crab dip. Unfortunately, it contained very little crab, had a thick, paste-like texture, and was so unappetizing that we barely touched it. The entrees were even more disappointing. Two chicken dishes were literally inedible due to their taste, appearance, and poor preparation. The pork chops were edible but very dry, and they weren't served with the side dish described on the menu. The steak was also overcooked, dry, lacking flavor, and also came with the wrong side dish. What made the experience even more disappointing was the complete lack of attention from management. With multiple meals left untouched or barely eaten, you would expect a manager to stop by the table, ask about the experience, or make an effort to address the obvious problems. That never happened. The one bright spot of the evening was our server, who was absolutely outstanding. She was attentive, friendly, professional, and did everything she could to make the best of a very disappointing dining experience. She deserves recognition because the poor food and lack of management were not a reflection of her excellent service. In an effort of some compensation we were given a couple plates of chocolate covered cherries and cream that were the best part of the entire meal. Too little too late. Returned to the Seaway Grille for breakfast and they were amazing, again…read more Maggie, our Server, did a fabulous job at keeping us comfortable and served delicious food with a smile. We ordered the following: 1,000 Island Omelet (ham, onion, bell pepper, cheddar cheese, and tomatoes). The omelet was accompanied by perfectly seasoned potatoes, strawberries, and rye roast. The other order was the Harbor Breakfast (2 sunny side up eggs, turkey sausage, potatoes, English muffins, and strawberry). Both of these selections were flavorful, filling, and cooked to perfection. I cannot recommend the Seaway Grille enough and am so glad that it's conveniently located within the 1,000 Islands Harbor Hotel.

Brunch review. I may have came with high expectations because so many people had mentioned this…read moreplace, and it is in such a beautiful location, but we left pretty disappointed. First off, their website is odd. Not much information, quite confusing, sometimes it won't even load (on mobile device), so if you're trying to make a reservation, call them directly. Location, beautiful, along the river, great outdoor seating. I'm sure dinner and sunset is stunning. Good, it was okay. We ordered kids breakfast, huevos rancheros skillet thing, chicken and waffles, biscuit and gravy, and the whisky flight. The huevos ranchero was good, nothing to rave over but good. The chicken and waffles didn't come with syrup at first, I'm sure it was a mistake. The biscuit and gravy... looked amazing, but the biscuits were hard. Like rock hard, and even after sitting in the gravy, no moisture would come back. Haha Service... the lady was so sweet, but she kept forgetting us, she would place hot things right in front of the baby where she would easily grab it. She had a hard time splitting the bill. Ultimately we had to ask another waitress for water refill and splitting our bill. Maybe we will go back... but not in a rush.

Last summer (2024) we went up to find they were not serving meals. Their chef left, they couldn't get servers... I'd check in before you go or ask at their place in Clayton. I was under the impression it's drinks only.
