Mother's Day weekend we stopped into this donut shop for a little sweet treat before we went home and the service was amazing. The donuts were fresh not greasy. We had a overall great experience. Service from the young lady helping us was absolutely stellar. I had made an appointment to get my nails done as my wonderful nail lady gets down just a few doors down and I had taken my mom with me to get a pedicure while I got my nails done. We decided to stop in this location to get a sandwich when originally we were gonna stop at the bagel place, but we remembered how absolutely sweet she was at the counter The in-house made croissants were absolutely to die for the sandwiches were filling and plentiful, and the blueberry donuts were probably the best I've ever tried and I am sort of a blueberry donut connoisseur being that they're my favorite lol it is a very old-school Classic donut shop vibe - very clean very inviting with Space to sit. Recently, My go to and I'm glad I found them. I was on the hunt for Vietnamese ice coffee, which is extremely hard to find here in Monterey County. The only other place here in Salinas that sell it don't sell it strong enough, they focus on the sugar aspect rather than the "wake up" aspect. Well I'm glad I found this place because their Vietnamese ice coffee gives me the wake up and alert/focus that I need to tackle my busy day! I've tried their foods out like egg roll, and donuts and wow so good as well. Stopped by for a quick breakfast bite. I ordered a croissant breakfast sandwich and a few donuts for the family. I was charged a bit higher than expected. The menu listed crossiant sandwich for $5.50. When I asked how much I was charged, the cashier said the croissant was $8.50 and the prices in the menu were from the COVID Era. It's 2024, maybe you should update your menu that almost doubled in price. It might because this is a local joint with many regulars who don't look at the prices. ‍ Croissant was alright. Still looking for an excellent apple fritters. This place does not have them. On a scale of 1-10 these are a 1, only because they have a generous amount of apple bits. This review is long overdue. The sandwiches here are best I've had in the area and customer service is superb. The young Asian lady is very nice and accommodating. So far, I've tried the turkey and pastrami sandwiches. They're soo good with many ingredients including sprouts and avocado, much better than subway or to gos. And the bread (customers could pick from different types) is always toasted perfectly. They have a large selection of drinks as well. This little shop exceeded my expectations. They overcharged us for our donuts and bagels, and my boyfriend and I didn't notice at the time it happened. Once we got in the car and saw the receipt, we were shocked at what we were charged. I've heard this is somewhat common for businesses to overcharge and hope you won't notice. We ordered 2 boba drinks and neither had boba in them. we discovered this after leaving and were down the road quite a bit. My daughter was running behind for an appointment so we just accepted the "omission". The owner didn't ask me to sign a receipt so I asked him if he wanted me to. He seemed surprised then ripped it from the printer, handed it to me to sign. I gave it back to him somewhat expecting to get a copy. He didn't offer and I didn't ask because we were in a hurry. When the charge hit my account it was exactly $1 more than the sale as shown on the ticket I signed. Reading through the reviews it looks like this is a recurring issue. Wasn't that great to begin with so I most definitely will NOT be returning. I have also reported this to my bank so that they have a record of it and to get my $1 back.
