Delicious donut! The lady working there was sweet. There was only one other person in the shop on a Sunday morning. Only negative was they take cash only, luckily I had some.

How are you gonna charge $4 at least for a bagel with cream cheese and literally put a drop. You might as well just put butter on it at this point cuz this is ridiculous. Eating a warm bagel with a hint of cream cheese. Def not coming back here especially with grumpy in the back. At least the girl at the front was nice. But get it together and throw some cream cheese on there that we can actually see

This place has been my go to for doughnuts and bagels. I will say this place has the best bagels that I have ever had. I brought some to my trainees and they asked where I got the bagels. The Prundale donut shop donuts taste great not gooey or dry like most donut shops. The donuts are baked fresh daily and melt in your mouth. OMG best in California. All the ingredients are cooked perfectly. Family business that has been around for over 30 or more years. Mom Dad kids grown grand kids. Go now and get a taste of the Prundale donuts. Same shopping center as burger King closer to the Vallaro gas station. read more

Favorite donut place ever. Locals place. Does anyone have the name of the lovely owners/ family? Used to come here all The time as a kid. I love a glazed donut. They are soft and puffy but I love the flavor because the glaze is not too much. Get an egg role for bfast. Get a pink simpsons donut for your kid. Run into the people you grew up with. I went here for donuts like 2 times, However my father is one who went inside because I might take forever deciding it. My father is more instant man. IF I go safeway I have more time, pick and choose. But those 2 times I normally buy Maple bars, old fashion donuts. Reason for this, they taste very good and I have good memories of these donuts. Rarely leave out my comfort circle. Sometimes I get Pershing and Cinnamon rolls but... I noticed they closed earlier, Morning is probably the best time to go Prunedale Donut + Bakery. Their frosting and fry is better than Safeway. Cooked yum standard. I have yet experience bagels, I read they were just as soft. It's yummy donut smell and coffee aroma. Let me start by saying the bagels were so good and fresh. When we are back in the area this will be on our list of places to stop. The customer service was great, friendly. Price was good. This is a small family run place so if you have big orders let them know the day before. read more

Please try the Prunedale Donut & Bakery- It is a must. The uniqueness is that unlike other donut shops is that everything is not only made fresh, but with recipes uniquely their own. The Bagels are unlike any I have tasted from texture to savoring taste. The croissants are European in flavor, but the problem is they are sold out by 9am. In fact many, if not most, of their pastries are gone by AM. The coffee is always fresh and not bitter. They are my go to place for bagels, croissants, and donuts. I just had the Pleasure of meeting Mak the owner and Baker. 28 years and remembers his customers names - remembers their tastes and habit patterns so to always try to have extra to meet their desires. This little "mom & pop" shop is great! They have the best bagels I have ever had (don't talk to me about traditional-- I'm not sure what that even is, but they are wonderful to me). They also have great donuts, croissants (including some yummy ham & cheese), and beverages-- coffee, tea, juice, etc. Just be advised that they only take cash and they sometimes sell out of certain items (but that's why everything is always fresh!). read more

TEN STARS Bring cash Worth the drive from pacific grove Everywhere I travel I look for donut places to try hoping I will be wowed by the flavor of the dough. I'm always bummed. NOT HERE I have only ever been on a Wednesday mid morning but this place has the BEST donuts I have ever had in my life. No exaggeration. Their dough is perfect and they're never overly oily. Always fresh and the icing is perfect. I had a fresh Apple fritter today and died and went to heaven. It was still warm!! Seriously, it's such a modest little bakery with sweet service. Most fad donut shops are all about heavy sickeningly sweet icing and toppings mostly disguising stale and flavorless donuts. Found this little gem and to be honest it turned into the best experience I have ever had at a bagel bakery. The donuts are delicious, fresh, and not overly glazed. The bagels now are hands down the best I have ever had. Ask for one toasted with cream cheese and its like biting into a bagel mixed with a flaky croissant. The bagel is light and airy yet flavorful and amazing!!! The owners ma and pa are awesome and friendly, couldn't imagine going anywhere else in the peninsula. These donuts are some of the best I've had in a long time. Picked up half a dozen after visiting Monterey at around 1pm and the donuts still tasted fresh and delicious. I'd definitely recommend this place to someone who wants quality donuts at a great price. They had a great variety and the employee I met was very helpful and kind. He made sure I got what I wanted and when I had to go get cash (because they are cash only) he gladly waited till I returned. If you're in the area definitely stop by and enjoy some awesome donuts. I went to purchase my donut only to learn that they only accept credit cards for purchases over three dollars. Good to know my donut was under three dollars, disappointing if you fail to bring cash they have a decent sized sitting area in the back behind the lottery section. Ironically, I feel as though it is more generous than the area used to sell their tickets and donuts, the attendant was neither nor cordial. Experience was less than memorable. The only reason I chose to do a review to help others avoid a similar disappointment. My final advice, walk across the street buy some box donuts from Grocery Outlet and you'll be similarly pleased.
