I have been meant to try their Korean lunch. There were three choices - Beef, pork and chicken. We ordered Korean Bulgogi (beef) and Spicy Pork. These came with generous portion of white rice. They were made to order and fresh. The service was quick. There were seating areas to eat on site which we were not aware. The portion was generous and they were delicious. A great value. Sunshine Fine Foods is basically a small convenience store, focusing primarily on Asian packaged foods. The store changed ownership and the new name gives the impression it's a gourmet food store, which it is not. The store still has the "deli" in the back of the store, serving hot soups, salads, and sandwiches. The food quality is good, but expensive for the serving size. It's a good place when you are in a pinch and new a quick to-go lunch, but its not a daily lunch spot--not for me. read more

This place is close to where I work so I don't mind paying for convenience, however, I miss the twins - They brought character and good customer service to the deli and were fun. He is truly a master of his craft and makes sweet, sweet meals for me to enjoy. This worker and the manger, an older, shorter gentleman are always smiling and joking about. Sunshine fine foods is a great place to stop in for a few grocery items or a lunch sandwich! The staff is always super friendly and helpful. I've been in a few times to get some wine or a few ingredients I needed for a recipe, but this past weekend was my first time getting a sandwich to go... and let me say, it won't be my last! Their special of the day was a turkey and salami combo with chips. They have all the fixings you would want to add and some special boars-head spreads. I chose to add the chipotle spread which gave my sandwich some nice heat. They also have a great selection of chicken salad and different pasta salads if you are in the mood for something lighter. For the sandwich and chips, it was about $7, which I think is a great deal! Can't wait to come back for a quick lunch during the work week or to pick up some goodies for a weekend picnic! read more

I work semi locally to sunshine fine foods so I often find myself going there for lunch. Before recently, I was treated very inconsistently on visits, specifically, two twins that were very moody and inefficient workers. I noticed that when these twins were working, my food was usually short portioned or incorrect. Since about August, I've noticed a kind hearted bald man that is always joyful and energetic. He is a joy to be around and always is concerned with the customers' well being. Sunshine Fine Foods is a quaint little place that dishes good food and better vibrations. I tried one of their specials, a baked cod sandwich, and oh my god was it delicious. The piece of cod was sizable and it was so flaky and baked to perfection. It wasn't greasy at all. I believe it was about $7-8 for the sandwich + chips or cole slaw. The sandwich was worth 5 stars and I will definitely get it again the next time I see it. I also tried a honey turkey sandwich and that was packed with fresh turkey. Highly recommend trying their deli. The deli sandwiches are reasonably priced, but I do wish they would list the prices for the deli products or have some sort of menu (especially listing what specials are when). I'm not a fan of waiting until you pay to find out how much you're spending (or having to ask prices about multiple products). As a convenience store, Sunshine Fine Foods is very clean and has basic staples. The prices are higher than you'd pay at Kroger, but seeing as there aren't really any grocery stores downtown, the convenience makes up for it. read more

This is a nice little market with good food. I used t get lunch here when I worked down town. The club sandwich and chili are delicious. I will say their Mac and cheese is not their strongest dish. My mother has been receiving delivery from this company for years. For a number of reasons, we moved in a different direction and started shopping elsewhere in mid-July, 2020. Since that time, the proprietor has continued to charge my mother's visa credit card, racking up charges of more than $13,000 charges in two months. We have launched a fraud investigation with the bank. I have attempted to contact the proprietor to rectify the situation and, if there is a mistake or misunderstanding that would clear this up and validate these charges, to give her an opportunity to explain the situation. I have recevied nothing in response. Until we investigate fully, I cannot legally accuse her of theft, but an investigation has been launched. BEWARE. read more

Not terrible and not great. You know when saltines make the difference, its not the best you can do for lunch. The mac and cheese was grainy and not homemade. The ladies working the deli and cash counter were very nice. They do have a small amount of grocery items and Greater's pints. So I can see the appeal. If lived down town I would probably stop in there for wine and cookies. But if you're looking for lunch try any of your other restaurant options (suggestion: Gilpin's Steamed Sandwhiches). read more

I'm a lunch regular and never disappointed. For the price, quality, and customer service this is one of the best places to grab a quick lunch in the city. They use Boar's Head products and fresh produce for their sandwiches and have vegetarian options for when you're in that mood (or if you're vegetarian) for something less heavy. The take away side items are great additions to dinner or for picnics during the summer. The tortellini pasta salad is one of my favorites, but it's even better if you add a little white wine vinegar at home to lighten it up a bit.
