This place should really be a 5 star place!! Found this little spot with my hubby and omg I'm glad I did! We stopped here for breakfast and it was so worth the money! Huge portions and the atmosphere feels like being in grandmas kitchen at a family reunion. Can't wait to come back!

I had to go to the DMV nearby early in the morning so I was definitely going to treat myself to a greasy breakfast afterwards. That's when I found Sunshine Grill & Deli. I placed an order via Seamless for The Hog (pork roll, hash brown patty, egg and cheese) and it was ready for pickup before the quoted time. It was a 45 minute drive back home but it held up pretty well, and wasn't something a toaster oven couldn't fix. I opted for wheat bread (I would have wanted a roll but I was trying to be at least a LITTLE bit healthy) and it was great. The meat to cheese to egg ratio was perfect (although the wheat bread didn't hold it very well, which is usually why I get a roll - but my fault). The hash brown was a little bit lost in there because it got soggy so next time I would probably either eat it immediately, or get one on the side. Will definitely come back to try some non-breakfast items one day when I feel like I need another cheat day.

I reluctantly downgrade my rating to 4 stars because lately I've noticed a trend of my order notes either not being read or disregarded. I work from home and always place my orders on their website for convenience and speed on pickup. 3 out of 5 of my most recent visits had issues that relate to specific instructions not being adhered to. If I ask for cheddar cheese on a sandwich they give me American. If I say no marinara on sandwich, I still get it. When I ordered onion rings today they gave me waffle fries instead (but no heads up). The least they could do is call me if there's an issue making the order to my specs online, but they chose to make these decisions without involving me - the customer.

Found this gem online looking for breakfast options near our hotel. We were immediately greeted by friendly people and served good coffee (I usually hate "diner" type coffee, but this was tasty.) I ordered a pork roll, egg, and cheese sandwich and my friend ordered a short stack of pancakes. Both came out quickly and the cook even called over to ask if we needed more syrup (they already had given us plenty). The portions were large and filling. We were checked in on and had coffee topped off several times. I loved that I could pay directly through my phone with the QR code. The only thing I found annoying was the "Let's Go Brandon" mask hanging up. Yes, I know every one is absolutely allowed to have their own political views, but I wish it wasn't necessary to announce in your place of business. I just want to eat and feel welcome.

Small Edison gem. You will ride right by it sitting on the corner bright yellow small building. Off street parking can get fill quickly if you come at the wrong time. The staff is welcoming and friendly. And patient while you looking at all the choices they offer. As I am looking locals enter for their usual to go. I ordered and opted to utilize the outdoor seating area with the nice early Sat breeze. I ordered the italian sausage omelet with potatoes and short stack of french toast. The portion is huge and I could not finish. The french toast was very good. The omelet was really on point. Lots of sausage and good taste. The potatoes, I had to refrain myself from eating them all. So much goodness and I wanted to eat them all at once. But to big of portion. Thanks yelp for the recommendation. Usually after trying a place in my collection I usually delete them. This place is a keepsake to return too.

We were in the area 4 days and went here twice - it was so good!!! First day we got breakfast items - very generous portions and tasty! 2nd time was for lunch. Tuna wrap and a turkey bacon wrap, again very impressed. If you order online, you get 10% off. We paid cash both times and they have another 10% off for that! Just a super small place with a counter and a few tables to eat. You can see the kitchen and watch the magic happen. Def check them out!

i love this place! perfect for brunch. i am always greeted with a warm welcome and smile from the staff; they seem eager and happy to help! and i love the cozy feel of the building in general. i feel very at home and cared for as a customer. i ordered the french toast with bacon and while it was a bit pricey, it was honestly so delicious and worth it. the hashbrowns were a part of my partner's meal.

Just got in for lunch. We ordered black bean burger, fat tony club sandwich and taco salad. Also, Chocolate, Strawberry and Vanilla milkshakes. Black bean burger, vegan, first time to try it. Kinda bland, I'm disappointed. Club sandwich had turkey, ham and gyro with veggies, tasty. Taco salad serving is big with fresh veggies with ground beef, delicious. We also ordered cheese fries to go, greasy but tasty. Mom and Pop owned business. Kinda tight, with five tables for dine in, and seven bar stool top counter seats. Server is helpful and nice. Separate Men and Women's bathroom. No changing table, it's tight. Open early for breakfast and lunch. Close at 4 pm, daily.

Looked on yelp for a breakfast spot and saw this place. Had ordered the meat lovers omelette and bacon and cheese loaded home fries. The portion was generous and tasted good. It's a busy and small spot but the service was good still. Only issue was the the order did take a little longer than expected and can be a bit cramped if filled to capacity I would think. Overall though a good experience.

Chocolate chip pancakes were fluffy, good consistency, but unfortunately they were salty (everyone in my family tasted and we all agreed). The yogurt parfait - you can't really mess this one up but I would like a little more granola crunchiness. They skimped. French toast - objectively, a good but very rich dish. However, not really what I would call French toast. It's just very large "blocks" of bread, flavoured on the outside and with topping. But the super thick cut won't let the bread soak through like a normal French toast. Finally - house coffee was really not good. It's not a bad place but I would probably not return.

As soon as we walked in, we were warmly greeted and shown to our booth. We noticed welcome balloons throughout the dining room and quickly realized it was the diner's first day under new ownership. Normally, we have a three-month rule before trying a restaurant that's under new management, but by then we were already seated, so we decided to give it a chance. The brunch menu had everything you'd expect from a classic diner, with a few creative twists. My daughter ordered the corned beef hash with eggs over easy, home fries, and white toast. I couldn't pass up their unique take on Eggs Benedict, which featured corned beef hash instead of the traditional Canadian bacon, served with home fries. Everything arrived exactly as ordered, hot, fresh, and cooked perfectly. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Congratulations to the new owner on opening day! We wish you nothing but success and look forward to coming back again. SO much more room to breathe. Maria's moved into the old Latin Port space at 87 Central Ave, and they've been in the new location for about two months now. You can actually walk in, have a seat, and not feel like you've accidentally walked into someone's living room. I popped in today for a quick latte to go and went with a hot Coko Loko (that's latte with coconut syrup and a lil' hint of choc). And just when I thought I was done, I got this little surprise at the end: fresh coconut flakes in the final sips. If you're a coconut person, you'll want to try this one!

I was also excited that they moved to a bigger, brighter space. There's ample parking in the back or street parking which are refreshing changes compared to the old location. *FOOD* The menu has something for everyone, from classic breakfast staples to more creative brunch options. Come hungry -- the portions are generous and everything tasted fresh and made to order. I highly recommend trying their seasonal tiramisu latte (I seriously would order this everyday if I could) and their Tex-Fast Bowl which was decadently delicious. The drink was creamy with a hint of sweetness and definitely lived up to its name. If you're not a brunch lover, they also have other options like burgers, wraps, house specialties, quesadillas, and much much more! *SERVICE* Staff was friendly and welcoming, though the pace could use some improvement which I'm sure they'll figure out over time as they just recently set up in this space. Overall, Maria's Brunch is a great spot in Metuchen that's definitely worth visiting!
