I was nervous about my eye care when my former optometrist sold his business to Sunshine Optometry, but it was all for naught. The staff and doctors are all very friendly and continue to provide me with the top notch care that I have always received. Brandy stayed after the former doctor sold, and I am so incredibly grateful for that because without her guidance, I would likely leave with frames that age me well beyond my years. This review is intentionally rated Five Stars (*****) for the examine done by Dr. Alice last March. The reason I went in to see the doctor was because I had been on a trip to Michigan where I was driving around in a rental car. The weather was quite snowy my whole stay. I am use to the snow and welcomed it, but the snow was blinding me and making it very difficult to drive. I said to my passenger as I was driving on the freeway, I can't see! Everything is all white! I pulled off the freeway. I said maybe it's Cataract. I worried for the rest of my trip about whether I would need to have cataract surgery when i got back home. Well Dr. Alice took me in right away, and examined and tested me in a little of no time. She assured me that I did not need cataract surgery. The new glasses she prescribed gives me near 20/20 eyesight. I find myself so comfortable with them I forget I have them on. Brandi is a jewel. Office staff is great. read more

Went to Dr. Sun yesterday, she is the most very best eye Doctor in the business. She leaves nothing to chance, everthing is checked and examined. I have been going to this location for close to 28 years. They have see me through various eye care issues. They are conveniently located even though I have moved around 4 times in the Valencia area. They have the same staff for many years which meant a lot to me because I like saying hello to the same friendly faces every year. Making appointments have never been an issue and the place is always kept neat and clean. My daughter and I had a nice appointment with Dr. Sun for the first time. She is professional, friendly, and she pointed out a condition my daughter may have been born with, which should be noted for future reference, that no one else ever observed or mentioned to me before. And she also gave me new product to try for bifocal contacts which is working out great! They have a good selection of frames to choose from so we're always able to find something we're happy with. We just moved to this area and by far the best Optometrist I have ever been to. Dr. Sun took a lot of time to explain what she was looking for and dedicated a lot of her time in answering my questions and even showing me the insides of my eyes. Original 5 stars: 5/30/2019 - Came in as a new patient. Quick non extensive form to fill out. Everything went smoothly with the exam tests. Dr. Alice was fairly quiet. Maybe just her personality. Good selection of frames to choose from. Staff was able to lower the price of my prescription lenses by taking the time to research it on their system. So all in all, I'll be back. Update 1 star: 6/12/2019 - Received a notice by text message that my prescription sunglasses were available for pickup. I came in and had to bring my three kids with me. Come to find out that they gave my sunglasses away to another patient. What should have been a two minute pickup turned into over 20 minutes waiting for the patient to come back with my sunglasses. Not her fault, but I can't believe they didn't ensure they were giving the correct item to their patient. She also grilled me on my wife's name and kept asking "didn't your wife come to get these already?" On top of that, once the patient that had my sunglasses returned. I had asked Latisha if there is anything else I needed,and if I was missing anything. She responded, "No". I needed my sunglasses adjusted so during the time that they were being adjusted I asked her that same question again. I didn't want to leave there missing anything after already having to wait for my item they gave away. Her response was the same. I asked her FOUR TO FIVE DIFFERENT TIMES while I was standing there. I get my glasses and head out. Once I get to my car I realize that when I had my appointment and purchased these sunglasses the employee had stated that I should also receive the original lenses that come with the frame. Since mine are prescription lenses there were nonprescription ones that came with the frame that I wanted. When I asked them about that, LO AND BEHOLD LATISHA knows what happened to them... She backs her chair up and sticks her hand in the trash where SHE THREW THEM AWAY..... I can't believe that after I spent all this money for these sunglasses and waited for the other patient to return my item, that she then threw those lenses, even after I asked her if I was missing anything several different times. Additionally I find out that my lenses I ordered weren't the correct tint. I paid extra for darker lenses and received lenses that are lighter than the original lenses on the shelves. I called back and they said they would look into it and call me back tomorrow. I will not be returning to this company for further business anytime in the future after my items are correctly addressed. Ms. Latisha ruined what was a 5 star review and good experience to begin with and forced me to give a 1 star due to lack of customer service and unprofessionalism. One last thing. My 21 month old was making loud noises and screams because she was bored and I was trying to prevent her from damaging other frames and lenses on the shelves and she didn't like that. When my child would have an outburst, Latisha sighed multiple different times. WELL DON'T GIVE MY ITEM TO ANOTHER PATIENT NEXT TIME. Update 2 stars: 6/13/19 - I returned to address the color of my tinted lenses. At first they informed me there is nothing they can do because the lenses were tinted to the darkest lens they can be for my prescription. After some reviewing it still appeared to me that the demo or model lens they use to reference a darker tint was still darker than the prescription lenses I received. Mine were polarized, but I could still notice a difference in the darkness minus the polarization. She mentioned the reference demo or model lenses they use were over a decade old. So in a way I felt that I was misled to believe that my prescription sunglasses were going to appear the same tint as the reference lens that were 15 years old when the actual tints have most likely been updated since then.. The optometrist and I went back and forth disagreeing over the tint color before I called for a break. Upon returning they were able to help me out by having the lab that make up another pair of prescription lenses for me so when they are finished I can compare tint darkness between my current lenses and the new ones and take home which ever I choose. She mentioned she will be asking their lab for updated model or demo reference lenses as well so future patients won't run into the same issue I have. I've spent more time than I want to at Sunshine Optometry to get what I paid for, but hoping everything works out in the end and we both end our business with each other on a positive note. read more

She had run out of her contacts and was singing a solo at her high school graduation and she couldn't see the director in front of her. It was so bad that they had to stop the whole graduation rehearsal because my daughter couldn't see. So glad I went with this office! It was about 3 years since my last exam and I badly needed one as well as new glasses. I didn't go back to the previous fellow because he had a vibe about him and there wasn't a lot if selection in frames. I saw.... I can't remember her name! We have been patients at Dr. Zeltser's office for more than four years. I have found the staff there to be exceptionally nice and helpful. Dr. Zeltser is very thorough in his exams; but they seem to go by quickly because, as another poster mentioned, he has a very nice exam manner. Good selection of frames. Staff works with insurance; in fact, they had all of my benefits ready for me when I walked in last time. So, the process went by quickly. As in ANY retail business (anywhere), of COURSE they offer you additonal products and services. Many times, I agree. I WANT less glare, I WANT lighter frames, etc. However, any time I've been offered an option/product that I don't want/need, they have NOT pushed at all. They seem genuinely interested in having me be a satisfied patient and one who will keep coming back. My husband and I are patients and I recommended another family (they ALL wear glasses, too) and the hubby, wife and three kids all go to this office now as well. I visited Dr. Zeltser because I needed new contacts. I have had a bunch of problems getting fitted and feeling comfortable in contacts, maybe because I don't wear them that often. The doctor has tried different lenses and I've had a couple appointments where the doctor has tried to fit me with contacts that are actually comfortable in my eyes. He's given me samples to try for a few days, invited me back to the office for follow ups, and is pretty generous. All in all he's the kind of eye doctor who cares about his practice. He's not running a churn 'em and burn 'em money factory but spends time on his patients. I'd highly recommend Dr. Zeltser for anyone in the Santa Clarita area. read more

One thing I found kind of interesting for an eye doctor was that the paperwork they have you fill out has super small print. It made me laugh. My eyes were fine so I had to pay out of pocket. I am a longtime patient of Dr. Zeltser's. I tried another local optometry clinic after he had retired and wasn't really happy with the service, so I decided to try Dr. Sun this year. Wow, so impressed! I was so frustrated with my sight and current glasses, having different vision issues for far away, close up and in between. She took her time during my exam. Evaluated the glasses I received at the other clinic and told me my vision was way over corrected. She suggested a pair of progressive lenses. I had tried them before and was a little reluctant, but thought I'd give them another go. Wow, what a difference! I am so happy with my new glasses. There wasn't even a breaking in period as is common for progressive lenses. I literally haven't taken them off since. Anyway, the office is very friendly. Dr. Sun was very professional and helpful. No lie... I've been dreading this appointment because I fear the need of glasses. To my surprise, my eyes are actually pretty darn good :) Dr. Dan gave me some drops and some things to watch for.... and then we spoke about the amount of time that I spend in front of the computer. So, whereas my eyes are good (not quite 20/20, but not far from that either :) ), the smallest prescription can help reduce eye fatigue. After the consultation, I was taken to the front area where his staff assisted me in picking out frames that I'd be comfortable wearing. I'm sorry that I don't remember their names... Marco and Brittany (or Bethany?).. so I apologize for that, but they were great! No unnecessary pressure. No unnecessary upsells. Just pure value. So yes, my fear has been realized and although you may NEVER see me in them, just know that once they come in, that I'll be behind my screen wearing anti-reflective glasses that will help reduce eye fatigue and keep my eyes in tip-top shape :) read more

I haven't been to an optometrist for a very long time and, because I was having some soreness in any eye, I searched for a provider online that took my insurance and which was local to my work. I called this office yesterday to make an appointment with Dr. Zeltster, but they were all booked up and so I made an appointment for today (Saturday). When I got to the office, I was told I would be seen by Dr. Poneh Alavi. The examination I got appeared professional and thorough, but at the end I was rushed out into the waiting room, told the problem, given a prescription and a hand shake. First of all, I want my particulars dealt with in private, not in public. I also want to be asked if I had any questions. So I had to stop her from going back into her room and ask my question. The question was basically about something I had noticed in both eyes and about which I was worried. Her response was "I am the doctor and I just gave you a complete exam, If there was anything wrong, I would have noticed it." This person needs more warmth and thought. I will probably go back to this office, but will make sure not to see Dr. Alavi, but will try Dr. Zeltser. read more

Where can I start other than this was by far the best and most thoroug eye examination I have ever experienced. Dr Alice Sun is so helpful and knowable going the extra mile to explain things others might already know. Most eye exams in my life have consisted of someone rushing through the exam asking "1 or 2" and not explaining what is actually being achieved, this was not the case with Dr. Sun. Dr. Alice son spent more time explaining everything to me then all of my other eye examination's combined and since my appointment was in the middle of a workday she had alternative solutions so that my vision was not impaired or sensitive to light. This is something i normally Avoid, however since finding Dr. Sun I feel like sharing my experience with everyone so they too can have the gift of great vision along with overall general optometry knowledge read more

Wow...I am so impressed. What wonderful people...so quick and simple. My husband goes here and I myself and my 2 sons had gone somewhere else in SCV:) When my 18 year old said I need to go and get eyes checked cuz again I decided to try them...will never go anywhere else. I have been going to Dr. Allan D. Zeltser for many years. Every time I go I feel like I am going to fail the exam. I have a hard time figuring out whether 1 or 2 or 3 look better because of a focusing problem - but Dr. Zeltser is very patient with me and I haven't left with Coke Bottle glasses yet. Though I always get contacts - so I don't know if there is an equivalent. The office is clean and the staff is very friendly. I always go during my lunch for work and I am seen right at my appointment time. I would recommend this office and Dr. Zeltser to anyone and everyone. read more
