Dr. Bae and her staff were beyond wonderful!!! I took my special needs son in to check out the office this week and I was speaking to the receptionist about his needs. Dr. Bae overheard our conversation and quickly came out to meet us. She was soooo pleasant and soft. She never made my son feel any pressure and enjoyed showing him the office and introducing him to staff. She took so much quality time just to show him the office. We made an appointment and they couldn't have been more patient and understanding. They spoke to my son about every step of the process and never pushed him at all. He was always in his comfort zone!!! I read some questionable reviews and I came across nothing but a positive experience from each and every friendly face we came in contact with. I will be recommending Dr. Bae's office to my sons friends and family friends. Autism is my son's super Power but gentleness is Sunshine Pediatric Dentistry's super power. Couldn't be happier!! Perfect for children - even have a tv on the ceiling. The dentist and staff are great with the children and allow a parent to stay with them for support. They also did education to child and adults on how to brush and floss your teeth in a gentle manner for gum/teeth health. Great job Sunshine Dental. Great Experience! Ashlynne helped me set up my initial appointment and was very patient with me as I had many questions! She is always very kind & professional when I call to schedule appointments or have inquires! My son does better w/his father so I only attended his first appointment which was w/ Jordan & she did such an amazing job at welcoming our toddler into the practice and making him feel comfortable! From what I understand the hygienists have been super kind at each appointment & are very gentle with the children! Kid friendly words are used to allow for a fearless experience! Dr. Bae is upbeat & welcoming! She answers my questions thoroughly & makes sure I understand what is being said! She is great at explaining her recommendations & reasoning vs just saying "this is what your child needs!" I have worked in Pediatric Dentistry for about 7 years primarily with pedodontist but recently had experience working with a general dentist & you can absolutely tell the difference by the way they diagnose treatment & handle the children! Dr. Bae is wonderful at what she does & offers non aggressive treatment options before offering worst case scenario plans! She is intuitive to the child's needs & seems to have their best interest at heart vs looking at them as numbers! The location is a little bit of a drive from my home & does not accept my insurance however the office has exceeded my expectations & I look forward to them being apart of my Children's growth and oral health journey!! It took Herculean efforts to even get my son to his appointment. We haven't gone as much as we should because of his anxiety, and that's my fault. However, I didn't find staff to be compassionate or patient towards an anxious, adult-like, almost teenager. He's the size of an adult but extremely sensitive, very much like a kid with autism. What I'd like the staff to understand is, just because a kid looks big doesn't mean they don't need to be treated gently, compassionately, and with patience. He had a breakdown before his cleaning because he was so scared. It felt like we were a nuisance to the staff because of his trepidation and anxiety which delayed our appointment by about ten minutes. Their frustration was evident. When he finally consented to the cleaning, the tech was rough with him. "Well you don't want a cavity cause that's going to hurt even more!" My son later said, "If they'd told me what they were going, I would have been less scared." I'm a nurse. I know what it looks like when staff have forgotten that there's a human being in front of them and just want to rush through the motions and get on to the next. My son was a number that day, not a person, and for that reason, we will not be returning. If your kid is on the spectrum, needs a little extra TLC and/or time, or is just really anxious about being at the dentist, I'd go elsewhere. read more

Okay so you'd think molar extraction is a BIG deal for a four year old right? Not to worry, Dr. Bae to the rescue!! My daughter had the most magical experience! Everything from strawberry air, tooth dancing, tooth jewelry made this would-be horrific experience to one that was positively memorable for us (with lessons learnMy daughter now actually wants to go back to the dentist and I now know brushing 2-3 times a day isn't enough! I took my 13 month old here for his first check up. I was happy with the experience. First of all, they let you call from your car and come out to meet you. As anyone with a kid knows, it is hard to wait in the car especially in the summer heat. Even though we came over 30 minutes early they took us in right away. That was awesome. They are following the COVID-19 precautions too. The hygienist and dentist both answered all of my questions. Also they were able to examine my child although he was not being the easiest. I was worried about making sure my little one got a full exam because he doesn't like to have his mouth checked, but they were able to do it. Since we haven't had to get any dental work done outside of the routine check up I can't speak to that, but so far we have had a very pleasant experience and plan to follow-up here. read more

We loved it I was more anxious about finding a good dentist for our 2 year than a doctor. Luckily, we found Sunshine Pediatric Dentistry. This place is awesome. It looks very nice and clean and has lots of toys for the kids to play with. Which is just as important for a toddler as it is to an adult. The real gem are the people who work here. All very friendly and accommodating. We got lots of great practical advice for dental care, including how to start getting rid of that nasty pacifier addiction. And besides us, our daughter really liked it here. She got a balloon and a little toy so that's a big win. Once she gets older, I'm sure she'll also appreciate how great Dr. Bae is with her. Made appointments weeks ago. Office just called and canceled my appointments "because we don't see new patients at THAT time", it was explained. If they can't get their scheduling right, how can they get your teeth right? If someone can understand why a new patient can be seen at 3pm but not 4pm, then I'm willing to listen and seek understanding. One of best first dentist experiences for both my daughter and I. Im really happy I chose sunshine for my daughters first dentist visit! From the paperwork process in the beginning to walking out after our first visit is over I must say my daughter and I are ready to go back for the next check up. This place is awesome. Dr. Bae is a highly specialized Pediatric Dentist. She is truly an expert on children's teeth. Her demeanor is sweet, gentle and reassuring. Her entire practice is geared toward children--no adults allowed! So they have 100 ways to get your kid through it. At first when we got there and tried x-rays, my son refused. But everyone there really wants to help and the receptionist actually came into the back and gave my son a magic squishy "brave heart' to squeeze to help him be brave. And suddenly, squeezing away, he felt more brave and he agreed open up. No doubt, the multitudes of prizes, sugar-free lollipops, balloons, awards, etc. helped tremendously. And when we got to the teeth cleaning part, the hygienist says, would you like chocolate, vanilla or strawberry? Hahahaha!! He had been looking like he was starting to clam up again but that got him! He wanted to taste that chocolate toothpaste! They are so smart...They even have flat screen TVs on the ceiling so that the patient has to lay flat to watch. We tried bringing my son to other dentists and he screamed so much that it was impossible to get his x-rays or even to have the dentist examine his mouth. I had tried reading him books about going to the dentist, we watched videos, I did the pretend examination of his mouth...but nothing helped! But this place did it!! We finally have our dentist! My son said afterward that he has the 'fun dentist' and that Mommy and Daddy have the 'boring dentist'. He is right! read more

After experiencing a misunderstanding about thr next step in our treatment plan, Dr. Bae called me to address the matter - which I appreciated. However, her tone in communication was not friendly and most importantly she committed to calling me back to plan for the next step after speaking with her anastigiologist and never called me back. It has been over two weeks now. This is an unfortunate experience. I have since moved forward with a dental plan at an office whose staff are providing quality care. I usually have good reviews when I post and I considered not posting this one. However, it seems applicable. Dr. Bae, I am hopeful you are able to learn from my experience. This place is wonderful and I am so glad to have found it. We first visited Sunshine because my toddler had a an accident where his two front teeth were badly bruised from a fall. They quickly took us in without any hesitation and made him feel so comfortable. Because of this, we've been taking both of our little ones here for frequent check-ups and treatments. They are so incredibly friendly and conducive to kiddos. Lollipops, cartoons, balloons you name it! Dr. Bae is the best and really cares for her patients. She is very knowledgeable and so helpful. It's unfortunate that I'm only giving this place 2 stars because Dr. Bae is great. It's the staff that needs improvement. Ashlyn, one of the dental assistants, seems like a sweet young lady but needs to learn to own up to her mistakes. She gave me wrong info which lead up to a bigger issue but never apologized and refused to speak with me. Farah, who I assume is the manager, is coldhearted and only cares about collecting $$$. She showed ZERO compassion for my crying baby and blamed me for their mistakes. The reason for 2 stars instead of 1 is because Dr. Bae called me after to apologize for their mistakes which I appreciated. However, I will not be returning here since they already made me feel like they care more about my money than my daughter. read more

As a first time parent and with all the negative news you hear about pediatric dentistry makes you anxious and nervous about when to start taking your little to the dentist. After much research we discovered Dr. Bae and her team. The first visit was a bit over 12 months. They were so welcoming every step of the way. From the over the phone conversations, to arriving, filling out paper work and most importantly with our little. The environment is very clean and zen which helps when both mommy and baby are nervous in a new space. They made conversation with my baby and gave him toys and put on his favorite show to try and make it as comfortable as possible for him. I wanted my daughter's first time at the Dentist to be a good one as she was already complaining that her gums hurt. When walking in to the office we were greeted with a super cute sign with her name on it. The place is very nice and clean. Honestly beyond impressed with this office. It is truly a kid's dentist! They greet you with a sign that has your children's name on it, and have the friendliest welcoming waiting area with toys, movies, a fort, iPads, coffee and water! This place is great for kids. I just started taking my 3 year old son here and so far he really loves it. There's a nice waiting area with toys, iPads, etc... kept him busy.
