I know a few people who have units pool side and as for that .. they close pool at dusk LMAO people partying till 1030 1qpm at that pool.. i wont even go to pool anymore its basically a bunch of unsupervised kids running amuck and if the adults" are out there there music is blaring and they are 2x as bad as kids. I have had no peace in over 8months Even inside my unit windows closed tv on I have to turn tv volume up just to hear it. This goes on all hour of the night and wkend. Sad to say this used to be a nice place. I absolutely wouldn't recommend this complex to anyone.

Only later did management admit the check had been sent to the wrong address. We were then told a replacement check was cut in early November and would take 30-45 days to receive. That timeframe has long passed, and we still have nothing. Communication has been abysmal. Multiple voicemails and messages have gone unanswered, and there has been zero accountability or follow-through from management. At this point, the lack of response feels intentional. Holding a former tenant's money for half a year with shifting explanations and no communication is not just unprofessional, it is outrageous. This is not how a legitimate property management company operates. Prospective tenants should think very carefully before trusting Crosstown at Chapel Hill with their money. I could also go on to speak about how our apartment wasn't turned over before we moved in (found a razor blade embedded in the carpet!!) which we were told we would receive discounted first month rent for (never happened), the ongoing bug problems, the pools being closed majority of the summers, the lack of response to maintenance requests, the dangerous rotting wood on the balcony, the disgusting and constant overflowing trash at the dumpsters, etc. Follow up in April on 2025: we have STILL not received our security deposit and we moved our EIGHT months ago

Update #1: There…read morewas a huge ant hill on the base of a tree that my dog walked into the other day. Thankfully it was close to the communal car wash, so I was able to run him over there and get the ants off him quickly. He hated every second of this, and the ants somehow ended up biting me to shreds, but I got them off him. After that, I took him back to my apartment and then walked back down to the office to share this with the staff, thinking they would share with the exterminators to avoid other issues. But, everyone looked at me like I was crazy when I said I wanted to share the location of this ant hill and why. One of their newest staff members followed me outside (J thank you for coming with me and I'm sorry you got elected for this by default, but I very seriously appreciate you) and made note of the issue. Update #2: Someone mentioned the bad landscaping in another review and prior to moving in I kind of rolled my eyes about it... right? Bc with no context it's an odd thing to be upset about. But here is the thing.... It's a very dog friendly complex... SO.... Dead grass and random sticking up metal parts and holes in the ground = not the best place to walk your dog. Add a bunch of dogs, aerated turf, lots of rain, Straight up dirt with the metal bits and mess. I don't like it. At all. Update #3: Someone before me posted about the fire alarm and said it was painful to hear. I've now experienced it and can agree. This fire alarm is so loud that I couldn't get my cats out of my bedroom, my dog cried the entire walk downstairs and my ears still hurt badly from being either in my apartment, on my balcony or being outside. The video I posted is only of outside. But hopefully you get the gist. Thank God there was no actual fire today Bc I would not have been able to save all my animals. Unfortunately, there were a lot of car break-ins in July 2023 at Uhill and nearby apartments. Specifically, within Uhill, two parking lots were targeted just two weeks apart. What's disappointing is that the apartment management failed to notify residents about these first break-ins and didn't make the security better. Residents of Uhill asked for better security, like hiring a security company for night patrols and having a guard watch the security cameras. I believe having fence alarm would also be crucial. However, the management said they wouldn't make big changes, although they did say sorry for what happened and offered up to $500 for repairs. From the incident, there were glass pieces in the parking lot causing flat tires which the complex didn't clean up properly. even after a whole month you can see glass piece is in many parking spaces(see pic, this was taken on August 20th so 3 weeks after the incident). Parking lot also have a spot where people can just walk through without effort(see pic). Also, a friend who lived here told me about a problem with the Latch door locks that let someone break in. The management didn't warn anyone about that either. They have security cameras, but they are not being monitored. They tell us to lock our car doors, but that doesn't make sense because if our doors were unlocked, there wouldn't be any broken windows. Also, there were electric gate signs placed around the apartment that caught residents and dogs off guard. The apartment has to let resident know of the change before placing the signs. There is also a spot in the parking lot where anyone can easily walk in and out of, don't even need to climb. Because of the safety concerns, I decided to leave. I had just renewed my lease right before the incident, so I had 13 months left on the contract. But they're charging me the full penalty, which is like two months' rent plus a 30-day notice. They also trying to charge me for utilities after I left and returned the key for the utility THEY used while I do not have access to the apartment. They won't let me pay the penalty in installments. I strongly believe that the break-lease fee should have been waived given the circumstances of lack and refuse to sufficiently improve security. They do minor changes such as fixing the cameras(which means it had not been working), fixing doors(some had been broken for a while). All these changes are not enough for me to feel safe. The lease says Uhill IS NOT responsible for security, and any safety stuff they add that is beneficial to residents is extra and purely incidental. Be aware. Fixing my dryer took two months because they didn't have the parts, which is understandable. However, they didn't tell me anything until I asked after a month. My clothes got messed up because I couldn't adjust the temperature. Even though there are empty apartments, I would've preferred a replacement. Even with these problems, I can't deny that living at Uhill is convenient as it is located near O2 fitness, Target and Sam's. The rent is more expensive than any nearby apartments. My one bedroom cost about $1800+$35valet trash fee(which pickup times were not consistence)+$99 smart home package(net+cable). I thought I would rather pay more for safety/security, but now it is clear that it is not any safer than other places just be mindful of that. The staffs, especially Nancy and Mary, are nice, but I wish the apartment done more to make me feel safe.

Rest of the staff from the leasing office (Sandra Boykin and Jamilha ) will sweet talk you on becoming a resident but after being a resident they are not helpful , any issues you bring up to them they make you feel like you are bothering them and will get an attitude instead of being cordial and adddresing any issues during your lease . The complex is a very dirty , roaches e everywhere including in side the unit ( hallways , parking deck,, main entrance to the building , ) the events they have monthly are horrible, nothing but cheap stuff from the store and don't have enough for residents . Overall a horrible experience for the amount of money they charge each resident . If I could give this place a negative review below zero I would . I have had to stay proactive about my unit issues and waste my money and time fixing most of the issues . They have a lot of building code violations and health violations aswell . Every morning, I am woken up by the noise of someone walking on the cracking roof BEFORE 8 AM! I email the leasing office several times. They replied my first email and claimed that they would communicate with the vendor, but the noise did not stop. The other emails following up on this issue from me have been ignored. In addition to the two experiences I mentioned above, 3) The building if of poor quality. The ceiling leaks. There were several very noisy fans put in the corridor to dry the wall after it snowed this winter. 4) The do have roaches! 5) The gym is not maintained in time. It takes centuries for them to replace or repair equipments that do not work properly. 6) The apartment was not cleaned before I moved in! I found dead roaches in the room!! There are good things though. The maintenance team fixes things in the apartment quickly, and they always try to keep your place clean while doing their job. I also appreciate one of the ladies in the leasing office for signing my package when I was not able to come back home. However, overall, as a place where I pay to get enough sleep, chapel hill north is a poor choice.

We were always super impressed with their responsiveness to any maintenance issues. This is a real stand out to us in terms of positives, and made a great impression. Also, they are incredibly fair with returning the security deposit, which you don't see very often! The people working in the office are all very kind and helpful. Once inside the Murchison apartments, the other couple pushed me aside and practically bowled me over to be first in the door, pounding Guy with questions then informing him they "probably" wanted the place but had "one more place to see and they'd be back soon" and abruptly left. Guy looked at me with a friendly smile and said, "Can I give you a quick tour?" I loved the place instantly: the big windows, spacious living area and hardwood throughout. The kitchen was as small as a postage stamp (recent photos show they expanded and remodeled it) and said I was ready to sign. He smiled and said, "I'm so glad you do. Those other folks weren't very polite; you seem like you'd be a very nice tenant." Guy was a terrific landlord and true to Trinity's website, the apartments were a great value, especially since they were close proximity to Duke University. I rented two apartments from Trinity at the Murchison Apartments on Demerious Street and Georgetown Apartments, my favorite being Georgetown because it had a large eat-in kitchen and pantry and two spacious bedrooms upstairs. (Murchison was a little quirkier and smaller, it was still a cute place. It had a fantastic storage area under the stairs where I stashed Christmas decorations and luggage). Both apartments were townhouses and very cozy with central air conditioning, a *must for those sweltering summers in the South. Both apartments were very well maintained by Trinity. After Guy had bought the Georgetown apartments he asked if we'd like to take a look. It was literally dollars more a month with an extra bedroom and extra 1/4 bath. He even let me choose the carpeting and linoleum from (4) samples and remodeled it fully before we moved in. If I ever moved back to the Triangle area, I'd call Guy for help navigating the real estate market since he is a very savvy real estate investor and/or rent from him again. All these years later, I still have the move/out form with a personal note from Guy that reads, "Thanks for leaving the place in such super shape!" All these years later, fond memories from a fabulous landlord. If you're looking for an apartment in Durham or Raleigh, start with Trinity Apartments.

They don't have all the latest amenities that some other apartments do (no indoor movie theater, forex), but this also makes for a really great price point. It's in proximity to Franklin Street and all it's happenings, near shops, restaurants, coffee bars, bars and many other fave hang out spots. Oh, and if you walk about a block and a half from the opposite side of the building you'll be in Carrboro and getting your groove on over there. I say it's on the cusp, right in the middle-- so if one day I don't want to go to Carrboro at all, I can spend all of my time in Chapel Hill or vice verse. I like that it's near everything and I can take a stroll just down the block and zap, I'm there-- that's pretty cool!
