I had never gotten a facial before but she made the process smooth and comfortable. She explained everything she was doing before doing it. She created a relaxing vibe with music and ambiance. Sokonthy, you are truly amazing, kind and such a caring hair stylist . All thanks to her I am ready to catch my flight and attend my cousins wedding now, not worrying about my hair color anymore . Although my hair took almost 4 hours Sokonthy from the beginning was so attentive not rushing the process at all. I asked for a haircut with face framing/long layers, as well as gray coverage. Duygu took her time, was super sweet, and is so good at her job. I been going to Sokanthy for a few years now and she is great! I always walk out with exactly what I want. She's super professional and know exactly what she is doing. She also cares about hair a lot so she teaches you how you should care for it. I took her advices and my hair has been healthy ever since. I recently got my hair touched up my Sokanthy since it has been awhile and at first it turned out lighter than what we both expected but it was still very nice. Since I was in a hurry to leave, she told me to go enjoy the color for the weekend and if it is still too light for my liking, let her know and she will tone again as long as it is within 7 days. I didn't know what to expect after my initial visit with her but I was truly so impressed with how she did my hair. I wish I didn't have to give a star in order to write a review. She does not deserve it!By far the rudest and untruthful hair stylist I've met in Castro Valley. I walked in and saw only one stylist. At the moment she was working on a client. I went to ask about her pricing for hair dying. But instead of having a set pricing, she gave me a vague pricing, making it sound like it is relatively within reasonable to idea price people typically look for. Went back on the day of my appointment, only to know that she was late. My appointment with her was at 10 am sharp, she shows up 5 mins after 10...which tells me she is not prioritizing her clients. Since she was running late, she should of texted me to let me know at least. Finally when I got settled to the seat, I was then able to discuss the hair coloring and processes of how long it is going to take. Of course, I am fully aware that getting your hair to a much lighter shade is going to take at least 2 different times for the color to show. But she did not mention that it will be charged two different times instead of giving an exact amount for all of it. Additionally while I was making a phone call to discuss it with my mom, she had told me she was going to get the coloring ready. This was one of the issues: if the client has not agreed to proceed with the job, the stylist should not make their clients feel pressured into getting it done until told otherwise. In addition to that, when I had decided not to do it, she harassed me by saying "I could of charged you for coming in today." That is the second biggest issue. Excuse her for saying I had wasted her time. She wasted majority of my morning just waiting! She had not even touched my hair and she tells me that I had "wasted" her time?? Unacceptable. I regret even trying to be polite with her towards the end as I was exiting the building. She needs to understand that every client that she will/are working with are already taking time OUT OF THEIR DAY to have you do their hair. I had wasted my morning rushing to make sure I am NOT LATE to show up in front of the salon. As a new client, I have done my part to be as cooperative as I can. For those who wants to get a hair dye or cut, better off looking elsewhere. In fact, I highly recommend people go to this other salon in Castro Valley called Wink. They have WAY BETTER service than Sunshine Salon. read more
