Seeing so lots of local reviews of French Broad Chocolate Lounge, the words "chocolate" and "lounge" were all I needed to convince me to stop by. :)) The place is adorable--cute, cozy, and filled with tempting treats everywhere you look. They offer unique ice cream flavors, handcrafted chocolate domes -- passion fruit, chai chocolate, etc and decadent pastries, and, of course, their famous Liquid Truffle drinking chocolate. Every dessert looked amazing! I also love the wall arts!! The service was warm and welcoming, making the experience even sweeter. Just a warning: don't let your stomach and your eyes do the shopping at the same time, or you'll easily walk out $30 lighter. But , it worth it if you have a sweet tooth!
The best chocolate I've had in years! Omg the liquid truffle is the best thing I've ever had. The shop is super cute and has cafe/lounge style seating in the back. There's also a photo wall near the restrooms. The staff is incredibly friendly and I was served super quickly. I will be back!

This is a must if you're walking around downtown Asheville! It's the perfect place to recharge and indulge. It's a cute cafe featuring some of French Broad Chocolates own specialties as well as ice cream, Counter Culture coffees, and baked goods. It's counter service & the line can get a bit long but trust me, it'll be worth every minute and every calorie. If you like beer, try their Mocha Stout cake...it is decadently rich, made with Coubter Culture coffee and Burial Beer stout along with their own chocolate. Their Liquid Truffle is swoon worthy...especially when served as an affogato! So go ahead, treat yourself & splurge!
The chocolate crème brûlée was incredible! So creamy and sweet milk chocolatey. The shop is cute with lots of indoor seating and an outdoor patio area too. There was a line, but service was quick and friendly. The ice cream and truffles looked delicious too. I wished I had skipped dinner and just eaten 3 courses of chocolate here!
I stopped in to get some gelato, and it's good gelato! The price is kind of high for the amount they give you but that seems to be standard for gelato places. I really wanted to try some of the chocolates here, that will be for next time!

It's delicious! The selection is quite impressive and so tasty. The chocolate-dipped peanut butter cookie and the layers chocolate mousse were delicious. The truffles were great also. Hell, everything we tasted for that matter. The staff was friendly and moved through the line quickly. The hype is earned, and the chocolate lounge is the spot. Cheers!
Yeah, I'd still move in here if I could! We were in a hurry so unfortunately out trip was only a to-go visit but I still got my fix! We stocked up on a few treats for the drive back (some truffles, caramels, a couple of bars) and a few baked goods (chocolate chip and chocolate ginger cookies), and I got a sipping chocolate of course! It was a bit hot out so I wasn't sure how the hot drink would do but it was still so so satisfying! Oh, I also got myself a fancy tart to enjoy in my PJs on my couch once we got home. Everything was as excellent as I remembered! There was a pretty significant line on a Sunday afternoon but it moved along at a pretty good clip and it gave me a moment to figure out what I wanted to get as well. The space is still super cute. I wish we could have spent more time but we'll carve out more time when we come to town next time. And I absolutely need to do the tour of the factory next time as well!
Ok, the treats here were insanely good and very well made. Asheville has one heck of a chocolatier in French Broad. The prices are a bit expensive, but this stuff is all have-made chocolates and sweats. They also had a gelato selection that looked amazing (did not try that). They had REAL hot chocolate that was purely chocolate. Again, expensive and only a shot-glass in size, but MAN was it delicious! A rare find and treat, but worth stopping and trying at least once!
If you like chocolate there are several options varying from cake, cookies, brownies, truffles and more. I enjoyed the creme brulee greatly and my latte paired well. Great sitting areas available and right next to the art museum. Stop by when you're looking for a sweet treat.
We came here for a dessert. I was surprised to see a creme brulee option and it was delicious. The chocolate was strong and not too sweet. It was warm and rich. The shop is quiet and offers coffee. The staff was nice.
Service and ambiance was successful. I got a mini-scoop of Buddha, which was delicious with slight bitterness.
The line (if there is one) goes quickly! Decadent chocolate ice cream or drinks- they have quite a selection, and this is a fantastic spot if visiting! They have free water too and ample space for a family to relax for a break. read more

It had been a minute since I visited this amazing chocolatier. Their expanded space is open with a variety of seating choices. The counter service was scattered. The person who rang me up asked multiple times what my order was and then forgot to add the drink I ordered. The chocolate speaks for itself here. Prices are high, but so is the quality. read more

The sipping chocolate is so rich! Tiny cup because 6oz is all you need. The chocolate drops they have are also great for gifting and they're very pretty looking. Pricey but worth it... I wouldn't snag the chocolate covered nuts though.. they've been there awhile and you can taste it. read more
What an absolute gem we found while walking around downtown. This place was incredible. They have all kinds of desserts - cakes, brownies, cookies, custards as well as all kinds of delicious chocolate. If you like chocolate (as I would expect you to if you're coming to a chocolate lounge), their drinking chocolates are the way to go. The liquid truffle was so rich and decadent. Served as 4oz, you might think it's not a lot, but a little bit goes a long way. Perfect afternoon treat. They also have packaged chocolate, so you knew we grabbed some of their bars to take home. Just as delicious when we ate it a week later. A lot larger inside than I expected. Plenty of seating space. We were lucky as no one was in line when we showed up. However, within 10 minutes, the line was over 30 people long and out the door. So this place can definitely get busy - be prepared to wait. That being said, it's definitely worth the wait. read more

What a delicious slice of cake! My friend and I popped in here for a post lunch dessert and it definitely did not disappoint. I had the quintessential chocolate cake, and it was heavenly! If chocolate is your jam, this is for you. Upon entering the establishment, there are a few items for sale, such as box, chocolate, eggs, and merch. The real goods are behind the counter, though! If you helpful notes. There is street parking nearby but not a ton. Definitely in a great area so you can walk to it. Clean bathrooms inside. Ample seating. A great spot to take pictures as well! Long line but worth the wait at French Broad Chocolate Lounge! We stopped in for a quick sweet treat after dinner and we got into the long line to try out some chocolate. It was dangerous because we ended up browsing the shelves while in line and bought a box of 3 drinking chocolates to take home. The seating was very limited by the time we got our order but we found a spot on the couch. I got a mint brownie and a sipping chocolate - liquid truffle. The brownie was SO good - rich and not too sweet, richly decadent - the brownie of all brownies. And now I'm craving another one. The sipping chocolate was a small serving but given how rich it is, it was more than enough for two people to share. If you're looking to support local business for dessert, definitely recommend stopping by French Broad! read more

Relaxing space right in the middle of downtown next to the museum. They offer ice cream, truffles, several chocolate desserts and pastries as well as drinks. I grabbed a coffee and a caramel, chocolate tart. It was super good but so rich I could not finish it alone. I also snagged a box of truffles to go. The staff was nice. My son was dying to visit the Chocolate Lounge. He had been planning what he would order weeks before we visited. We shared the triple chocolate mousse and the liquid truffle. The mousse was so amazing. We loved the different layers of chocolate. The liquid truffle is delicious. It is rich but not too sweet. I also had the coconut bonbon. The chocolate had a lovely snap, and the chocolate filling was smooth. The staff was so nice. The lounge is beautiful on the inside, and we liked that they had a water station. read more

This spot is so amazing! It has such cute decor, cozy lounge areas to enjoy your treats, and wonderful staff that were very helpful! I got the chocolate and caramel tart while my mother in law got the carrot cake. Omg! Both of them were so decedent and delicious. These dessert are VERY rich so they're definitely share size! They have wide range of dessert options from small truffles to full on desserts such as the tart and carrot cake as well as cheesecakes, chocolate cakes, etc. They also have a full chocolate inspired drink menu as well as beer and wine. French Broad Chocolate Lounge in Pack Square tends to be one of the places I stop during my trips to Asheville. The blue building will catch your eye. I was introduced to the business many years ago on a food tour and have been going back ever since. They have a large seating area to mingle if you want to enjoy the ambiance there or you can buy chocolate; ice cream liquid chocolate or pastries to go. The prices are on the higher side but the bakery items are much cheaper than another pastry shop in the area. The service has been great on my visits here and my items are wrapped up nicely. read more

What a great downtown respite!!! After walking off a sizable brunch, we found ourselves at the doors of French Broad. (That is a lie. We went there totally on purpose). As we waited in the sizable line, it snaked through a maze of delicious chocolate offerings and my arms were indeed full of fancy boxes of delightful candies as I hit the register! We ordered a few lovely desserts that were gone before I could even snap a pic, and also enjoyed a lovely coffee and espresso. There were plenty of seats and a plethora of Insta-worthy backdrops throughout... even at almost full capacity, it didn't feel crowded and seemed like everyone had a place to seat and enjoy their treats throughout the establishment.
