They offer unique ice cream flavors, handcrafted chocolate domes -- passion fruit, chai chocolate, etc and decadent pastries, and, of course, their famous Liquid Truffle drinking chocolate. Every dessert looked amazing! I also love the wall arts!! The service was warm and welcoming, making the experience even sweeter. Yeah, I'd still move in here if I could! My husband and I were in Asheville for less than 24 hours and I told him this was the only place I wanted to make sure we went before we started our drive back home. We were in a hurry so unfortunately out trip was only a to-go visit but I still got my fix! We stocked up on a few treats for the drive back (some truffles, caramels, a couple of bars) and a few baked goods (chocolate chip and chocolate ginger cookies), and I got a sipping chocolate of course! It was a bit hot out so I wasn't sure how the hot drink would do but it was still so so satisfying! Oh, I also got myself a fancy tart to enjoy in my PJs on my couch once we got home. Everything was as excellent as I remembered! There was a pretty significant line on a Sunday afternoon but it moved along at a pretty good clip and it gave me a moment to figure out what I wanted to get as well. The space is still super cute. Ok, the treats here were insanely good and very well made. Asheville has one heck of a chocolatier in French Broad. The prices are a bit expensive, but this stuff is all have-made chocolates and sweats. They also had a gelato selection that looked amazing (did not try that). What an absolute gem we found while walking around downtown. This place was incredible. Served as 4oz, you might think it's not a lot, but a little bit goes a long way. Perfect afternoon treat. They also have packaged chocolate, so you knew we grabbed some of their bars to take home. Just as delicious when we ate it a week later. A lot larger inside than I expected. Plenty of seating space. We were lucky as no one was in line when we showed up. I was introduced to the business many years ago on a food tour and have been going back ever since. The prices are on the higher side but the bakery items are much cheaper than another pastry shop in the area. The service here for a local has become really poor. The location is convenient to my office, which is about the only reason I keep giving this place another chance, but after today I'm done. Standing in front of the case for five minutes while four employees shuffled around behind the counter without acknowledging me, only to then get skipped in line, was enough. Paying $8 for two small scoops wouldn't bother me if the quality and service matched the price, but lately both have been as unimpressive as the flavor I ordered. You would think that coming in as a local, regularly, you might at least get basic awareness from the staff, but that clearly isn't the case. In a town like Asheville, locals do matter, and when you lose them, you lose the place. Good luck, FBC -- at this rate you'll be a shoe store in a year. read more
