I want to start this review off by saying that the dedication and pride that both Ms. Arga and James displayed in response to my previous experience has given me a different perspective on Sunshine's. After a conversation with Mr. James about the history of this location and the importance of their reputation and providing positive customer service, I came to the conclusion that this food is best enjoyed hot, fresh, and in house. There are a plethora of spaces for all kinds of people, whether quiet and reserved or lively and communicative. Sunshine's has a partially shaded patio that has a great ambience and honestly a pretty good place for small gatherings. To speak on the quality of the food, my experience this time around was excellent. I ordered the Black Bean Burger with a side of sweet potato fries. The patty was perfectly cooked and the addition of the veggies made it such a nutritious and light lunch. The only addition I would make is having a sauce ON the sandwich. However I did get some vegan mayo and a smoked sauce on the side to help with adding some moisture to the sandwich. Overall I am very grateful that I got to have a second experience here as I was hoping to become a loyal customer. If you order when you arrive, it has always been a long wait for me but the staff and food quality are great so I don't mind to wait as long as I plan ahead of time. I had just landed in Houston for a work trip and by the time I arrived they were 10 minutes from closing. I felt bad showing up so late but the person who took my order was so nice and didn't act rushed to help. While I waited for my order there was someone cleaning the dining area who said hi and chatted with me for a bit. It was such a welcoming experience. The dining and shopping areas were very clean and although I didn't eat in the store it was a cool spot to enjoy delicious vegan food. The food was also amazing! Over the next 24 hours I ate three meals from Sunshine's and all of it was so delicious. The beyond burger wrap was great and the quesadilla was so big I couldn't even eat it all. The nacho cheese that came with the quesadilla was amazing and I was so surprised to know that it was vegan! I took the almond pate to my hotel as leftovers and put it between two pieces of bread the next morning for a sandwich. It was perfect! I'm sad that I don't live in the Houston area because I would come here all the time!
