Alejandro came out on an arcing meter fluctuating power and a dangerous condition in the meter pedestal. it was a very old pedestal with one lug or socket that had lost its tensioning. I texted a couple pics and he thought he might have the lug. He arrive, very nice man. Searched hard for the part in his van and found it. Repair was made. Very courteous and fair price. $300. Total. This was a nightmare situation for over a month between my park manager on a sub meter. Cou be happier with Bright Power. read more

We worked with Sunpower on solar install and a repaper of the roof for our residential property in Carlsbad. Our experience with Sunpower was pretty good. They were responsive during the proposal process and provided a really good price. They also had a really quick turnaround on the job: it was about 10 weeks end to end from when we signed the contract to when we had a permission to operate and the solar was turned on. During that time Sunpower was responsive and helpful. I had a couple of issues with the entire process which bummed me out. Firstly, the team doing the repaper of our roof could've been better. They left all their lunches in an open trash container in our driveway during the roofing part of the job. This unfortunately created a lovely beehive in our drive and ended up with me climbing into the bin on a Saturday with bee spray after a neighbor complained. The roofing team also did some strange stuff like putting all the mismatched roof tiles right in front of the house where they were most visible. They also gave me trouble when they didn't fully power wash the entire roof (only some of it). And the roofer never actually talked to me, they just left one day and assumed it was done. Also, Sunpower was unclear about the payment process and permits to me. As a result, our solar system was turned on without a permission to operate and resulted in us generating 254 KWH of power into the grid for which we actually got charged like it was usage. Despite having sunpower's "word" that we'd be reimbursed for that, we kind of got blown off. I guess it wasn't important to them since we had already fully paid them. Anyway, I'd say we had a mixed experience. I learned a lot about solar during the process which was good I guess. Business owners, take note... Ben from Sunpower California is the type of guy you should do business with and someone that I wish the previous owner of my home would have used to install solar. Why, you ask? I'll tell you. Well, earlier today I wrote a scathing review of SunPower, a larger manufacturer of solar equipment and I mistakenly posted the review to Ben's stellar business, Sunpower California. An honest mistake on my end but one that I probably wouldn't have realized if Ben wasn't so quick to tackle the issue. Even though Ben's company didn't install the solar he was very compassionate to the issue at hand and offered to help me come to a resolution with SunPower, the mothership. So, moral of the story, find businesses that are operated by people like Ben. He understands customer service, he's available to help, and he's communicative beyond belief. If I got such a great response as a non-customer that penned a review for the wrong company imagine what these guys will do if you jump into the solar game with thousands of dollars in you pocket to spend. Ben will take good care of you as he offered to do for me and for that I'm incredibly appreciative. It's our duty as Yelpers to give credit to the owners and operators that do the right thing and consider this my humble (and public) apology to Ben and Sunpower for handling things they way they should be handled when I made a glaring mistake. We paid a lot of money in September 2023 for a solar battery for our home in San Diego County. It took months to get the installation done, damn near had to make threats to get updates. Ben and his team just completed their second installation for me and I could not be happier with the end result. They install though sunpower directly, and their team knows how to get the job done, even when surprises pop up (and they often do in projects like this). The production is past the ratings given and I take comfort that the panels are produced here in the USA with a warrantee that covers not just the panels and inverters, but the service to replace them when things go wrong. Just last month, they replaced 14 micro-inverters on the first installation in 2016 because production was not optimal. They did this without any action on my side. That's a company that goes the extra distance. If you want it done right the first time, let Ben handle it. read more

After meeting with several solar companies, it was clear that Green Homes Solar was the best company!!! Our sales rep (Ben) was very knowledgeable and patient as I had many questions about how solar works. During the entire process of installing and turning on our solar, if a question arose, despite the time or day, Ben would take the time to answer my question. We opted to not put the solar on our roof. Instead, Green Homes Solar made us a customized carport so we could park our cars in a shaded area. Green Homes Solar took care of the entire carport (design, permits, putting it up, etc) and as soon as they had completed the carport, our solar was installed immediately. Had my solar panels for over a year, love them, they are great! I felt the same about Sunpower in general, until my PVS stopped recognizing my WIFI. I called Sunpower over 3 weeks ago, and all I've received is the run around. Generic emails feigning they're concerned and trying to blame my WIFI, the very same WIFI that had been working so grand up to now, and not once sending a Tech out to look at it. The change form they gave me did not have enough room to add a canceled check so I had to be creative when I returned the info. while processing to get my system I was frequency contacted by reps on the status of the file. After a sometime of having the system I had the roof inspected. The inspector found broken clay roofing tiles, also the wrong adhesive on the ridge tiles. I contacted the company in Aug 2022 and filed a request for repairs. I had a rep email me and ask for pictures which I send a few days later. Th rep advised he was sending the request to a higher level. Two weeks later another support person contacted me, again asking for pictures. I asked did he contact the prior rep for pictures. After some time, I send him the same pictures. Two weeks later, I contacted the company and my file still shows the second rep is still reviewing the pictures. The person on the phone advised he would have that rep call me in 24 hours. 5 days later and still no call. If you have anyone install solar on your roof, get an independent roofing inspection completed. read more

My Wife and I bought our home here a few years back in Northeast SD County, and our energy costs were more than we could afford.
