To start this off, Veronica in the office is AMAZING! So sweet and helpful, talking with her is like talking to family. All of the staff at sunstone was as absolute delight. I wasn't going to post this, but I moved out in February of this year and I'm still dealing with an issue I have from Sunstone. I had a non-renovated apartment. When I first moved in I had no neighbors below and no neighbors across me for a few months. The vacancy across was an eviction, the family left behind all their things. When a company finally came to clean the apartment out, it smelled like a dump site. 2 neighbors also moved in around the same time. Which all of this must of distributed a HUGE cockroach nest because for about 7 months after this, I had an INSANE INFESTATION. Originally it was only a few cockroaches, which I thought since the weather was heating up they were coming out but progressively got worse. Every single day I was killing 15-20 cockroaches in my kitchen and in my bathroom. They were coming up from the dish washer and sink. I would come home to them all over my kitchen floors and walls. About 3 months before moving, we stopped cooking and storing food in our kitchen unless in the fridge/freezer to see if it would deter them. I had the apartment sprayed through Sunstone, and then I bombed 2x on my own but nothing worked. After 3 days of being in my new apartment I noticed one in a box. Unfortunately I took them with me. I was diligent with cleaning, vacuuming, and drying my things before I left. It has been so heart breaking/defeating to be constantly trying to get rid of these pests, we have thrown away thousands of dollars worth of food/kitchen utensils/ furniture etc. Unless this place has tented their units (which I doubt because it would be near impossible to coordinate with all the tenants) I would steer clear of this complex. read more

I've been living at Sunstone Place for four years. The apartments have been renovated adding a washer and dryer in the unit making it a great bonus. The staff are amazing. Veronica, Sonia, and Art are wonderful. They are friendly, approachable, and try to resolve any concerns as quickly as possible. Lastly, I'd like to mention how great it would be to have Patrick Valdez assigned to this location all the time. I called around 4th of July when a wasp nest was growing on my neighbor's door. The office said they'd send someone out in 4 days. ‍ I told them we all have to walk by it I'm order to leave or enter our apartments, my neighbor and I have kids, and we weren't interested in being stung. They said they'd call me back, but didn't. So I called again and the reassured me they couldn't do anything because "no one will come out" since it was a day before a holiday. What they meant was they weren't willing to pay an exterminator to come off-cycle and address an emergency. So I had to spray the nest myself. It was really that easy and they refused to do anything. 4 days later they called me and said they're ready to come "look at it". I said I already took care of it for you. No "thank you"....just "oh, okay" as if it was my job. Aside from all this they shut down the fitness center for over 2 years to "build a state of the art" one. They finally finished it after missing their initial target by a year and a half, and then they put most of the same broken, crappy equipment in there with a couple extra machines and some free weights. "State of the art" clips that are broken, aged and stuck, loose cables on a super old machine...and a decent chest press and lat pulldown. Now the main issue is that the gym seems to have no regular hours. Yesterday I got in at 6 but saw someone come to unlock the door at 6:15. Today I went at 7 and it's deadbolted shut with no hours posted. So we waited 2 years for a "state of the art" gym in this incredibly overpriced place to be given the same old equipment (mostly) and STILL not be able to use it consistently. Honestly, this place needs to get it together. It's always something and any time I talk to management I either get blown off, or they flat out refuse to do anything. Sunstone, if you need an operations manager, I'm happy to help show you how great you could treat your tenants. All I ask in return is access to the gym and a rent credit for my services. Seems like you could really use the help on understanding what matters and what we all feel like we're paying for even though I've been told by management that rent doesn't "include the gym and Laundry" as if to say those aren't commitments they made in their advertising. (Yes I was told that my paying rent didn't mean I had a right to expect the amenities that they promised). read more

We have been here over 5 years are very happy here! Veronica and Sonya, the leasing agents, are always very pleasant and helpful, and know us by name when they see us. Art and his entire maintenance staff are always quick to respond to requests and the work is done right the first time, and they never leave a mess. Maria is AWESOME!! She keeps the campus so nice and clean, despite all the jerks that can't manage to walk 10' to throw their garbage in a trash can! And she is always smiling and sweet!! One night, my daughter dropped her drivers license in the parking lot while coming in from her car. I saw Maria the next day and she hurried to me with it in her hand. Not only was she returning it, (rather than taking it to the office to have them call us to go pick it up) she knew that was my daughter even though we are rarely around the campus together. And finally, Jacob, our night security guard. I am a bit of a "night owl" so I take late night walks with my dog. No matter what time we go out, we see Jacob walking the campus and since he has been here, I almost never see homeless people on the property at night anymore! They have learned that he will remove them, with RPD assistance, if necessary, so they have quit coming around. This is a safe, friendly, clean place to live with staff who work hard to keep it that way! read more

I would like to know when exactly the fitness center will be open. I'm irritated that when we first moved in a year ago it was open, and a few months after moving in it went into renovation. Also i don't like paying extra for my rent if all amenities are not included. Do not tell me to call and discuss it with Veronica. You , the business manager please explain to me how/ why my rent would go up when I'm not getting any extra amenities (as a matter of fact were losing amenities). Also my water heater barely works its very, very loud. And I had very crappy upstairs neighbors that allowed there dogs to pee and poop on there patio resulting in it falling onto me and my wife. All of this just to ask how exactly do you justify increasing rent price, when there's no effort to make the community better. Literally the best part of living here is the Amazon drop box that keeps packages safe. (Which is not your doing ). Apartment complex in general is nice and just remodeled within some apartments. But, the application process was a nightmare. Sonya at the front desk is very difficult to work with and extremely unfriendly. Applied here a few weeks ago and ran into some issues with my roommates application. This was my first time applying to an apartment so I wasn't too familiar with how it worked. She was so rude when I would call with questions and made me feel very uncomfortable.. she was so unhelpful it ruined my experience and is definitely preventing me from applying here again with a new roommate. The apartment manager though, is friendly. I would recommend referring to her for your needs instead of the front desk.. read more

The tour was a good sell for getting us into this complex. The complex is clean most of the time. Occasionally the dogs owners forget their manners and do not pick up behind their pets. However, we find that management pounces on that issue right away. The residences are friendly, there is a combination of families, single people, college students, elderly of every nationality just as we see the world. The maintenance crew fix what ever issues arise promptly. Only had one (out of six) indecent when the job was not complete. The front gate is broken a bit to often, this allows the homeless access to rummage for cans in the trash bins, cook on the grills, plug in cellphones for charging and sleep within the bushes and to frighten the residence when returning home late. In some cases the neighbors are respectful of others, however, the walls are thin which allows for slamming doors to vibrate throughout the unit. It has become a problem. If you are a military veteran returning from overseas and have P.T.S.D - post traumatic syndrome disorder or you are a stoke survivor, slamming doors keeps you on edge all of the time. Always in the fight or flight mode, which is not good health wise. Pairing new residents with existing residents leaves a lot of room to be desired, people with similar work backgrounds should live within the confines of others with similar backgrounds. Living next to people who work all hours of the night and leave for work before day break should not live with people who work a 9 to 5 job schedule. Constant door activity just does not work in the real world. I would think twice about long term living at this complex, and I hate to move. It's to bad you can not pick your neighbors. read more

If i could give this complex 0 stars i would! Worst place i have ever lived in!!! DO NOT MOVE HERE!! Hubby and i just moved out of this place and it was the worst experience anyone could ever have! Our place got broken into the first night we moved in and yes the guy that robbed us was armed! When we called the leasing office they weren't even shocked that it had happened and just brushed it off as a minor incident. Our car was also vandalized and they tried to steal our tires which of course cost us over $500 to fix! Not to mention the people that live here as well. Some neighbors are nice but the rest are trash and LOVE fighting/arguing at all hours of the day/night. Our apartment was downstairs and the neighbors from upstairs were always loud and just had no consideration whatsoever. The office staff never did anything about it and didn't really care either! Also, Good luck with getting a parking spot if you have more than 1 vehicle. Security patrol doesn't come out when u call and complain about noises, especially if you call at 2-3 am so good luck with that too, and i recommend actually reading the contract you sign. (It literally says you are responsible for your own safety) Drugs being sold all hours of the day and those people even stare at you when you drive by them trying to intimidate you. The mailboxes are always being broken into too so i would suggest getting a po box instead. People always getting shot or robbed and it's def not safe to walk around at night.. while i lived here 2 people were shot in the complex and two were killed at the liquor store literally right next to the building. Homeless people walk in and out of this complex too and even use the laundromat (which is never clean). Oh and i almost forgot, the gate is always broken! Definitely not a safe neighborhood even though its right across the street from kaiser. The only positive thing i can say about this is maintenance, the guys that work in maintenance (Art and the other guy) are super friendly and get the job done the same day you put in the request. I HOPE YOU CAN FIND BETTER THAN THIS PLACE and good luck if you do decide to move in!! read more

They are kind, the front desk is super accommodating, the apartment reasonably priced, and it's peaceful. I would definitely recommend this apartment to anybody! read more

I lived at the Sunstone apartments for almost 2 years. here are the pluses and minuses : Plus : The Sunstone Apartments were the only place that I was able to rent at. When I moved in they only required a credit check and didn't require that I make 3 times the rent as a monthly income. This was the only apartment complex that I could find that offered this. The maintenance workers at this apartment complex were also very nice and very quick to help with whatever you need. Whenever I would drive by or walk by they would wave at me or strike up a conversation and ask how I was doing. Cons : The biggest problem I had with this apartment complex was actually with a neighbor of mine. There was a neighbor who lived a one apartment down from me who would constantly park in my assigned spot. He was home pretty much 24/7 and would move his explorer from spot to spot all day even if there were open guests spots available. I asked him a few different occasions to stop parking in my spot. He would always say "oh that's my buddies car, I told him to move it, but what can you do?" He would always be driving it however, so it was perfectly obvious that it was not his buddies car. I would call everyday to have his car towed however the tow company would take hours to come out and by the time they can out he had already moved it into someone else's spot. He also had guys on bike cycles paroling the parking area making sure his car wasn't towed, it was a very weird system he used to just to make sure he was able to park in other people's spot. It was incredibly frustrating to get home and be unsure if you're even going to be able park in your spot that you pay for every month. It almost made me not want to come home everyday. The second biggest con was the moving out process. I gave a months notice when I moved and I signed a piece of paper that stated I wanted to be present for a pre-inspection, and that I wanted a 48 hour notice before my pre-inspection. The paper work stated that the pre-inpection would take place no sooner than 2 weeks before moving out. At the 2 week mark i went to the office to try to discuss when they would like to schedule the pre-inspection. The lady at the office was with another client and kind of rushed me out of the office as fast as she could. She took a look at my form and said "yes that's for you, that is so you know how much you will pay when you leave, don't worry we will get that done for you." Then she kind of rushed me out before I was even able to say anything. After that A week passed and I still hadn't heard anything from the apartment complex. I called them and left a message and no one returned my calls. A few days later I went to the front office again and told them at this point the only day I can do the pre-inpsection would be on Sunday because I work everyday up until the day I move out. She told me the maintenance guy doesn't work on Sundays so I'm pretty much out of luck. Very upset, I called the company that managers the complex and let them know that they were breaching a signed contract that I had signed with the front office and if they weren't going to do the inspection then I wasn't going to pay any move out charges. A few hours later the front office called and they were more than happy to have their maintenance workers come on Sunday to do the move out inspection. It all got resolved, but i really feel like they should have been on this more. The short answer to this is, they forgot about me, they didn't look at my move out paper work and after they did they treated it like it didn't matter. Minor problems: The rent on the apartment is really high compared to what actually comes with the apartment. lived in a 2 bedroom apartments in Corona called the Ashtons and they were only a couple hundred dollars more a month for a 2 bedroom. Also this apartment doesn't come with a refridgerator or a microwave and doesn't have a washer or dryer unit in the apartment. The Ashtons came with a refridgerator and had a washer and dryer in the unit. The apartment complex if really noisy. There are always motocycles being reved at 4:00 in the morning. You always hear people yelling and screaming at eachother. The apartment was in pretty poor condition when I moved in. The carpets were stained and you could tell that they took no effort in cleaning them. The closet doors never worked and toilet pressure is pretty much non existent. When I moved in we never had any hot water. About 5 months into moving at the apartment my water heater broke and water leaked into my bedroom. I appreciate that Sunstone Place gave me a place to live for almost 2 years and made the process of getting into my apartment easy. However the system they have in place to keep their residents happy just isn't working. I would suggest moving someone where else if you can afford it. read more

My boyfriend and I lived here for almost 2 years. To be honest, this was the cheapest apartment we could find in the Riverside & Corona area, so it wasn't our first choice but we needed an apartment. I don't recommend living here unless you are desperate as we were. The apartments are cheaply made. As soon as we moved in, the "hot" button on the kitchen sink faucet broke off. We found 2-3 roaches in our apartment. Luckily those Raid traps from Target seemed to take care of them. The carpet was in poor condition when we moved in; it looked dirty and worn down in areas. The front office even put that the carpet was in poor condition when we moved in. What gets me is that we were charged for carpet cleaning and new carpet when we moved out. We did have a dog so I understand that pet accidents happen, but the carpet was in poor condition when we moved in. Speaking of pets, they restrict many dog breeds and have a weight limit of up to 70 or 75 pounds. The window blinds break very easily, the water is constantly shut off for pipe breaks or maintenance, front gate is always broken, the bedroom closet doors constantly fall off the tracks. Didn't come with fridge or microwave. The complex was always very noisy. I was constantly woken up at 6:30am to motorcycles, music blasting from cars, or our downstairs neighbors yelling at each other and slamming furniture. Walls are very thin. The complex does not check parking whatsoever. Our spot was constantly being taken by the same guy who has 4-5 cars in the complex. Whenever we would call to have him towed, the towing company would take almost 2 hours and by then the guy had already moved his car. People were constantly parking in handicapped spots without permits. Guest parking always fills up by 4:00pm and the streets are even worse to park on due to crime. My car was broken into twice in the complex even when it was locked and windows were rolled up. I will say, the maintenance workers were always nice and for the most part, they always responded to our maintenance requests. It's not a nice area, but if you need a cheap place to stay for a short period of time, I survived. Would never stay here again though. I would strongly look into other complexes and leave this as a last resort. read more

This place was ok, but when I moved out I was mad because Veronica was smiling and cheerful as she was charging me almost 1000 dollars for a mistake she made. I came back to be responsible as I didn't receive my bill in the mail. And she told me they made a mistake and charged me almost 1000 dollars. It's one thing to charge me, but don't look so god**** happy about it. Or at least an I'm sorry. My move out date was Saturday, and I brought my keys on Monday because I didn't think the office was open weekends. So they charged me two days extra even though I was never told I had to bring my keys back by Friday. They just told me I had to bring my keys or I will be charged for keys. Now I'm charged for two days plus ~1000 dollars. It bothers me that Veronica can be so creepy and so fake. And just so **** happy to be taking your money. read more

Can't wait to move out when our lease is up in 3 months. The place seemed ok when we first moved in, my wife lived here previously for 3 years before we were together and loved it so we chose this place. Location seemed ok since the mall is up the street, police department and hospital right around the corner, but that isn't the case at all! Always something sketchy going on, I don't consider myself high class or snooty but God Damn there's some ghetto ass people here! Gate is always broken, I even caught the guy who did it! Was taking out the trash one night, he asked if I had my clicker, which I didn't, then 3 guys hop out of his car and pull apart the gate to squeeze thru, messed with the mechanical box and slid the gate off the track. All the while someone leaving was approaching, had he waited 1 minute he would've been in, people are constantly coming and going there is really no need for that! I gave the office his car description with license plate but obviously they just choose to repair it every time it's broken instead of getting the police involved, no point in me calling if management won't do anything with the information. One time I caught possible homeless people washing their clothes in the hot tub, piles of wet clothes next to the hot tub and bubbles higher than normal. Management/owners if your reading this I dare you to try to scam us on our way out I'll call a lawyer, I don't care if my name is on here publicly this place sucks! So, as of 03/2016 I have lived towards the front of the complex near the leasing office and cameras that they have set up in the parking lot as well. Being from Riverside I wasn't too keen on moving to these apartments, but my girlfriend wanted to and I figured hey let's give it a shot.. But with in in my short stay here already I have had some 20 something year old low life's smoke Meth or Heroin on the side of my pation between the back wall and management not do shit about keeping there gates closed or with securing the complex. They don't pay attention to who roams through here and when I asked if they could fence off the gap between my apartment and the wall they said they couldn't do anything and to call the cops if they come back. There was graffiti on the walls from a previous visit which was probably from the same kids which maintenance just painted over and the kids when they left after I confronted them I noticed they put more graffiti over the spot that was painted. I feel it is fuxking ridiculous. Have people from the back of the apartments using the pool designated for the residents right here until 1130 at fucking night because the other pool is out of order. Then my car gets stolen because they never keep the gates fucking shut and right now the damn office woman tells me the cameras don't work because a company doesn't maintain them. Like what in the fuck?! If I wasn't stuck in a fucking lease I would have left after the first fucking month.. read more

Nobody here renews their lease, and for obvious reasons. This place is dirty, no parking, my car has been broken into twice, the front gate is constantly broken. There isnt many reviews online, thats because they changed the name to sunstone place recently after a tenant murdered another tenant in an arguement, kind of tells you the quality of people that live here and manage this shit hole. read more

Picture is decieving. My Family moved out of this apartment. Stay away, Do not rent from here, Bad place, Rent someplace else. Many problems with this apartment complex could go on and on with this review. It is terriable when you wake up in morning go to your childs bed and see COCKROACHES on them and their bed. Managment does nothing to controll this COCKROACH issue at all. When we threaten to not pay rent, managment threatened to take us to court and evict us. So we have finished our rental contract and moved. Does anyone know if it was legal them threating us to be evicted for their not takeing care of the COCKROACHES. Do tentants have rights on this issue? Have talked to many other tentants they have similar stories and are moving out too. Same deal they are being threatened eviction too!!!! read more

wish I could give this place no stars. don't waste your money here folks! Advertises having a fitness room, yet none of the equipment has worked for over a year. Cockroaches are a year round problem. Maintenance service is terrible, iv scheduled three times to get something to get fixed, having to take time off work for this and they never show up. the manager Veronica is the worst part of all. she is incredibly rude, acts like her tenants are wasting her time when they come to her with concerns. She ignores our phone calls and emails as well. she will occasionally talk trash in Spanish about a tenant that's in front of her if she knows they don't understand her. The prices keep going up and up, 1300 for a one bedroom filled with roaches! they leave the sprinklers on even when its raining so there is mud constantly around, as well as slugs and snails and dog poop. Outdoor grills don't work due to all the filth in them. and the pool is closed often because children poop in it. there is even a sign on the pool gate asking no one to enter if they are having bowel problems. Theft is a constant worry, and I had to put cardboard over the bathroom windows due to creeps standing outside my window trying to get a look. yet nothing was done about this. nothing ever gets done by the manager. read more
