I have been a Sunstone member since 2014. Yoga is not just a class for some people. It is a lifestyle, a mindset, and a mental exercise. I have been coming to this studio on and off for a couple of years. I love the classes. Yoga Core (Wood, for those that have been around long enough.) The classes keep me coming back. I love this class! It gives you suck strength and focus to use in other classes and in life. I like how the instructors change out and are not consistent. Different teachers give different cues and awaken different things in your body and mind. The heat is great! read more

It's a decent yoga studio with many locations and affordable options. Plenty of hot yoga options for people who like the heat and want to sweat it out. They've also done a good job at maintaining cleanliness during the pandemic. My main issues are: 1) the flow is *exactly* the same every time, no variety or ways to expand your practice. You can really tell who the regulars are in the classes because they know the flow by heart and will often already start moving into the next pose before cued which is distracting. 2) the heat used is the damp type of humid heat. Sometimes coming from a yoga studio that uses clean infrared heat this can be an adjustment on your respiratory system. 3) they will literally lock you out if you are 1-2 minutes late. I've been a member here for over 10 years and the service, cleanliness, and quality of classes has always been superb. During the pandemic they beefed up their online classes, and I stayed a loyal member even though I did not attend class in person. The ALIVE Studio is 20 minutes away from me, but definitely worth the drive. The revamped studio is clean, modern, and yoga and fitness classes take place every 30 minutes from early morning until night. You have no excuse not to visit this incredible studio! read more

I am a big fan of Sunstone. I first found them in Uptown and then years later decided to give hot yoga a try. This location was the closest to my home, so I went in for a free class to see if I liked it as much as I had in the past. They offered me an introductory class and a full week of free classes so I could best try their studio. They have two rooms (one small, one large), lockers for smaller items (keys, phone, wallet) and locker rooms with minimal space for showering and getting ready. The facilitators are friendly, helpful and great at remembering who I am when I had only been there a handful of times. There are different levels of membership so you can figure out which one is the best for you. Don't be late though, because they do lock up when each class starts! :) read more

I've been a fan of sunstone yoga for years, and I only wish I had the time and the money to join up again and attend regularly. However, my best friend has the membership that allows him to bring a friend and so occasionally I get to go with him. It's like a mini-vacation for me! Sunstone does hot yoga the RIGHT way. Where Bikram is more aggressive and tends to try and get you to push yourself (in a hot room where you can easily hurt your muscles), Sunstone has the mindset of working where you -are- and building your strength class by class. This is the way yoga should be taught, and it means that people get to really work on their practice in a healthy way both physically and mentally. The few times I've been here the classes have always been run very well, and it's a great location inside. The classes do get packed though so definitely be prepared to do yoga in close proximity with others, but if that worries you - don't let it. Everyone is focused inward, working on their own practice, their own personal best on a move. Just go and enjoy yourself! read more

My favorite hot yoga place. The instructors and support staff are super nice. They'll take that extra step to make you feel comfortable and welcomed. Whether it's your first visit or 100th visit, the customer service is fantastic. The bonus here is that all those nice instructors are highly qualified in what they do (consumer's perspective). They're professional and quite a few of them are pretty darn funny. So not only do you get to enjoy a kick-butt workout, you're entertained as well :). read more

I have been coming to Sunstone off and on for a few years now, and wow has it really grown! I tend to come to the Plano location mostly due to the larger variety of classes and bigger rooms. Over the past couple years they have added more classes than in the beginning when it was just yoga and a pilates class. I recently came back after a long 2 year hiatus or so. They still offer many of the fire classes (hot yoga), Earth (power yoga), and the Metal (pilates). They also feature 4 other types of yoga classes that are slower pace and in lower temp rooms. What I really like is that they added some fitness classes, Core, Sweat and HIIT. I have only been able to try the Core class but me and my boyfriend love it! A short (45min.) intense workout using weighted balls. I would suggest taking a look at the website to see all the classes they offer and locations. They have locations in McKinney, Addison, Dallas, Frisco, Plano etc, so there is certainly one accessible to you. My only con is it is a little pricey to spend $99 a month for. It does have it's perks though: -bring a guest for free as many times as you want -unlimited access to all classes and all locations They offer a lesser cost membership $89 but it has limited access to classes and locations and you can't bring a guest for free. Also, the more classes you attend, it brings your price down by $10 or so but that is after 50+ classes... I try to attend about 2-3 a week and that is enough for me, so it doesn't really seem worth it to me to pay around $100 a month for it, but they allow you to put your account on hold for $10 a month, and that allows you 1 class a month. So typically I will do it off and on throughout the year. I really do enjoy it overall, all the instructors are really positive and encouraging. I have yet to get one that isn't. Definitely check it out for yourself. They offer 1 week free if you attend the orientation. read more

This yoga studio is well-kept and has a good balance of accessible and challenging classes. Who knew a carpeted yoga studio could *not* smell like sweat? Truly a feat in itself. Each type of class (fire, wood, earth, etc) does the same sequence of poses during each session. I am reluctant to admit this, but it is nice to have that predictability during sessions so your mind can really focus on transitioning correctly and safely into alignment. Definitely recommend this studio to anyone who is interested in yoga but has no idea what they're doing. Instructors are very perceptive and welcoming! read more

I love Sunstone! The heat takes a bit to get used to but once you work through it, it actually feels really good. I normally go to the Flower Mound location but I love that I have options with Sunstone. All of the instructors have been really supportive as I find my foundation in yoga. I had never tried Hot Yoga until Sunstone. Pre-Sunstone, I dug yoga and especially loved the good-tired feeling that came after a good session. Way more satisfying then the feeling after a weight lifting session. Well, as good as I felt after a regular yoga session, I felt EVEN BETTER after a hot yoga session. It takes the goodness and multiplies it exponentially. I did yoga at Sunstone through the $10 for 10 days offer and highly recommend checking out the cheap trial for anyone interested. In the end, I didn't sign up as a regular member with Sunstone because it's fairly pricey (and the initiation fee is BS) and my schedule is unpredictable. I agree with past reviewers that the classes are exactly the same class-to-class, but there 4 or 5 different class types. Class size varied a good bit: some very busy, some with just a few. read more

I got my first taste of yoga at Sunstone and loved the feeling and rush you get from a good practice, especially in a hot room. I tried their 10 days for $10 intro week and while I love yoga, I couldn't get into Sunstone. They have a really great discounted rate for those under 25 and I love that all of the locations are available to you. There really is one pretty much anywhere in the DFW area you could make a class too. They also have several different styles of classes going on at once at several of the locations. My favorite to attend was the Park and Preston locale. I've attended class at Beltline and Preston but found the room stuffy. They keep their rooms heated to a warm 98-99 degrees. You definitely sweat. My main gripes included how BIG the classes were. There was no way one instructor could get to all 50 people to help correct their poses. The clientele is less than "Zen"- lots of rich Dallas mommies taking a break from sitting at home with the nanny and spending money on their husband's AMEX. I definitely didn't feel encouraged to grow from watching them compete to see who could get more pretezel-esque. However, my number one problem was an instructor who guided me through a pose while ridiculng me over the microphoned headset for my inability to do such an easy pose. After that, I was so mortified I could never go back to that studio. Maybe I just had a bad experience but the only thing I can thank Sunstone for is allowing me to realize yoga is something I wanted to pursue and practice. However, I will be taking my practice elsewhere. read more

For my first time, I was invited by my coworker after dealing with my grandma's passing away and funeral. The staff made me feel welcomed and they were very friendly. They showed me around and made me feel comfortable. The instructor Ms. Brook was fantastic. Her voice was very nice and I love the fact that she walks around and position us properly. It made me feel like she cared and that she knew we want to make sure we ate doing the postures correctly to feel the utmost feeling from it. I've been coming here for almost a year and I love it! The membership starts off pricey but the more you go, the less you pay. I also split the membership with a friend since signature memberships allow you to bring a guest every time. The instructors love to teach yoga and they all remember your name after you attend a few of their classes. The only down side is that the small room is very small and can get very cramped at times, and the rooms sometimes smell like stinky feet. I also wish they would add the new classes such as HIIT and barre at this location since I'm not willing to drive half an hour to attend those classes in Dallas. read more

Absolutely love this place! I am no yogie or yogis or whatever so this place is great for all levels. They have added many classes and my favorite are the core and fire classes. Core is a new group fitness class. It fills up very quickly so get there early if you can. If you are looking for a light yoga do spark, it's great for beginners. Prior to Sunstone Yoga I've only done yoga at home using DVDs. However, I am very active with various workout routines - ie. bootcamp, running, Insanity, T25, etc. I started to notice my weight and stature stop progressing. About 3 months ago I decided to try yoga in a studio for the first time and immediately LOVED IT. The studio however was not convenient to my home. ..I only did the 30 day trial at this studio. A family member suggested Sunstone Yoga. Ok, I can literally walk to tis place (but I won't) from my house so i attended the Intro "sales pitch." The membership fee is fair...I figure I have nothing to lose. Although I was really hesitant about joining because I really did love the previous studio. Fast forward 2months later...I love, love, love Sunstone. The staff is awesome!! (Special shout out to these exceptional instructors - Anthony, Jeed and Hannah). The staff is so nice, patience, motivating and good at helping correct/enhance your poses. I am addicted to this place. I am so happy to see changes with my physique only after two months. I highly recommend Sunstone to all fitness levels. Really, attend the intro to get the special rates with no long term commitments...sign up....then watch what this place will do for your body and mind. read more

I have visited this location a couple of times for a particular class and had a great experience. It is challenging and rewarding. Anthony is a high energy instructor that can practice what he teaches, he is impressive in his strength. Just put my membership on hold until I find a new spot to do yoga. Sunstone changed their name from Sunstone Yoga to Sunstone fit...and that was smart bc they only offer hot yoga and fitness classes now. There are NO evening flow vinyasa classes at all in any of the North Dallas locations (except Forest on Wednesdays). It's like they are completly abandoming their base clients. Hopefully this will change and I will come back until then I am gonna give the Yoga Factory a try. Wake up Sunstone...your Yogi's are what put you on the map! read more

I really like my experiences in the classroom I've had so far. The teachers are always really pleasant and helpful. I was nervous about trying hot yoga because I was afraid I'd pass out :) but now I enjoy it even more than yoga in a regular temperature. The membership rules are a little... complicated. Also, if you go to one of the intro classes you will have your joining fees waived, but it's only available to you ON THAT NIGHT which makes it a little hard to plan ahead, especially if you are married and need to ask your spouse if you can afford a membership! I do like that the more classes you attend, the lower your monthly fee is (if you get the most deluxe membership.) and that they provide you with your yoga mat and towel, and they have showers that I can use when I'm going to work afterwards. Overall, if you're wanting to commit to go to yoga and need places that are conveniently located and have a lot of class times, then this is a great place to sign up. One complaint about this location - the classroom smells like dirty feet sometimes :( read more

The atmosphere was unsettling. I have tried Hot Yoga at two other studios and had pleasant experiences, not the case for Sunstone. The odors are offensive and the air felt sickening. Good Ol Sunstone.....This yoga studio truly is as good as it gets for all yoga lovers such as myself. Where do I start....Oh yes that fact that there are locations all over Dallas and Fort Worth! Even Austin. There is no excuse for me not to go to class. So last month I made the decision to upgrade to the highest (most expensive) membership. And yes the membership starting price is pretty high but they have other options to make it very affordable. I have access to all locations and every class. They wash their mats and towels. You can bring one friend to class at no extra charge. You get a discount off of their workshops. The times for the classes ranges from 6am through 8pm (like I said, no excuse not to make a class through the week) And my favorite part about my membership is that the monthly cost decreases the more I go to the classes. Not only can I have a leaner body, I can also have a cheaper membership? Can't beat that anywhere. I'm a fan. read more

The best. Since I have moved away from Texas, I have not found a studio as good as Sunstone generally, and this location specifically thanks to the wonderful instructors. From the moment you walk in the door, you have a seamless, relaxing yoga experience. They have a great selection of classes for all experience levels. Further, they really allow you to enjoy your practice wherever you are that day, no pressure to push yourself father than you can. I would recommend this studio to anyone. read more
