SunStrong took over the Sunpower monitoring service that I got when I bought Sunpower solar panels about 8 years ago. One of the big reasons I went with Sunpower was because it came with individual panel monitoring and historical data performance tracking, so you could see when individual panels stopped performing and compare performance over time. That was all part of the package. When SunStrong took it over, they now don't offer those two basic services unless I pay them a subscription of $9.99/mo forever. They should have grandfathered in customers like me who bought in with a different plan. This shows me they lack integrity and can't be trusted. read more

Billing department is incompetent. 20 phone calls, submitted pdf statements reflecting last 6 months of paying bill early, but they still show 2 months of past due bills on the account even after withdrawing money from my account this morning. Multiple people from customer service acknowledged i owed less $71 this month for my bill due to me over paying taxes, yet they still took full amount plus show a negative $165 balance. Its like they have elementary level educated school kids running their billing / accounts departments. How they haven't gone bankrupt from lawsuits filed against them is a mystery. Stay away from this crooked and incompetent company if you can. Hopefully your solar company isn't bought out by a company as incompetent as this one. Beware. read more

They are the most mixed up company. Took over from Sunpower after they filed chapter 11 but do not have the records from Sunpower. Have reported me late to the credit bureau. I have never been late, if fact I had a sizeable credit when SunStrong took over. I have submitted my statements from Sunpower showing payments and from my online banking showing payments and they still have not corrected the issue. I have reached out via email and phone over and over again. They give me a reference number but they are so screwed up they can't/ wont fix the issue. Beware of this company. read more

This company will do anything to avoid any kind of warranty work. I've been trying to get them to service a defective panel on my home for 12 months. They keep saying my system is working within an acceptable range. When asked what that range was their answer is 80% and above. My contract doesn't anywhere say I may have to accept to only get 80% of the system I am paying for. Nowhere. It just states the size of my system. If I am not getting the full capacity that I am paying for, it will cost me money. I asked if they would accept 80% of my payment. The person I was speaking to did not have answer, but I'm pretty sure they won't. The panel is not being affected by any environmental issues. I sent 13 pictures, covering 12 months, of the app showing the panel only producing 57%. It is a defective panel and they refuse to honor any warranty. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. If I could give zero stars I would. As everyone is saying this company was completely unprepared when taking over Sunnova. When we bought our new home in California we were forced to pay for solar, had no choice as to who would provide that and it's been my biggest headache since we moved in. Sun Strong bills a different amount each month, their portal is juvenile at best and trying to speak with anyone is at least a 90 minute hold. If I could go anywhere else I would but my advice for anyone who might have a choice in their solar provider would be to run as far away from Sun Strong as possible. Terrible. I sold my house associated with Sunnova (who already sucked) in October. Sunstrong and their complete incompetence continue to bill me months later, and there is no option to turn off autopay on their website. Their phone lines put you on an infinity loop of hold times, and I have yet to receive an email back to my request to get a refund. Avoid like the plague. read more

Horrible customer service on both scheduling a repair and Billing!! My wife and I went on vacation October 16th thru November 15th and when we returned the whole systems had stop working. After numerous on hold forever calls I finally got ahold of someone. Was told that the a workorder would have to be generated and that it could take up to 15 days. Called back 20 days later and was told that the request had been sent to a local repair company and that they should have us on schedule shortly. Waited another two weeks and had to call the company myself. Still waiting on repairs. I called the billing line to and when I told the rep that a stop payment on future monthly payment would be made today all of a sudden I'm not on the account just my wife and she would have to call in. The service in both departments is total garbage!!! Pretty sure they will want to speak with me when this months payment is not made!! read more

Sunnova went bankrupt and transferred to Sunstrong. I can't get a hold of anyone! been calling for several days and no one answers even after waiting almost 2 hours each time. On my account it says my balance due is over $680 but how is that? I paid for November 2025 in October through Sunnova and I should only owe for December 2025 With Sunstrong. I'm sure I'm not the only one this is happening to. It doesn't make sense that they are asking for 3 months worth of payments? I should only owe 1 month. We were forced to have our solar company management Sunnova switched to Sun Strong due to bankruptcy filing by Sunnova. Ever since we had to do the switch, Sun Strong Management has been AWFUL!!!! The worst customer service with reps who have nothing but attitude on the phone. They claimed we didn't make a payment with Sunnova over a YEAR AGO when there is proof that it was paid, along with stating there's an additional $10 sales tax/ month on top of our monthly payments with sun strong management that we "agreed" to which we DID NOT. It also took THREE HOURS to get ahold of someone in customer service. This company is total dog shit. read more

If I could give Sunstrong zero stars, I would. When my system was under SunPower, everything worked exactly as promised. I could log in, see my production, track performance, and feel confident that I had made a smart investment. SunPower was transparent, reliable, and actually seemed to value its customers. Then Sunstrong took over and everything went downhill fast. Now they have decided to charge a monthly subscription fee just to see my own solar production data. This is information from panels I already paid for, on my own roof, and they are holding it hostage unless I pay them more every single month. It is not a premium feature. It is the most basic part of having solar. This is nothing but a greedy cash grab. They already made their money on the system and installation, and now they want to squeeze customers for more on a service we were already receiving. There was no warning, no choice, and no respect for the people who invested thousands in good faith. This company is the worst you could ever use for your solar panels (formerly known as Sun Power). Several friends and I had our panels installed by this company, and they never worked. They were never reported to the city, and they never provided the service or the installation was ideal. When we called to report the situation, they kept us on hold for hours and never gave us an answer. I finally got tired of paying them for over three years for a service we never received. Even worse, the panels they installed completely damaged the roof of my house, and they never took responsibility for the damage. Sunstrong assumed control of Sunnova's assets due to Sunnova filing for bankruptcy. I had autopay setup with Sunnova for over a year and we were told that would transfer over and no action was needed on our part. When the first payment was due they contacted me and said my credit card on my autopay was invalid. But what really happened was when they transferred my account the payment data was corrupted. So I updated everything and they told me my payment was processed successfully. Now one week later they are calling and texting me telling me I have missed a payment. The BBB Grade F they have must of been well earned. What an incompetent company. read more

The service provided by Sunstrong Management is WORSE than NO SERVICE AT ALL. - customers have to wait more than 60 days just to have anyone contact them to address any issues with their solar power generation. - they consistently offer one excuse after another for not being able to provide services to fix any issues with their solar panels for power generation. - customer service is worse than non-existent. - they do not have solar installers to diagnose issues. - even after getting multiple tickets generated, there has been no response from Sunstrong Management and my system is still down. Sun Strong has never gotten back to me. - they do DO NOT respond to messages left on their portal not do they return phone calls. - they will not allow customers to get off the lease, even when their systems DO NOT generate any solar power. I was with Solar for 7-8 years with no problem. I could monitor my panels on line and if I had a problem I could call and they were wright there. Now I have been switched over to SunStrong and no monitoring , no one to answer your problems or concerns, is this company even legit. I have reached out to them several times over the past few weeks to no avail. The first man said in a few days someone would call me. The second man said put in a ticket online, the third man said someone would get back to me in a month or so. My box outside has two flashing red lights, I have never seen that. I don't know if there is a electrical problem, if the panels are charging or dear God if these panels are going to catch on fire. The man on the phone said he understood all my concerns but there is nothing he can do. Are they going to pay for damages or an electric bill? Like the others I have had a horrible experience with SunStrong. I was a Sunnova customer since 2021 without ever experiencing any problems. At about the time SunStrong took over one of my panels died and communication with the Gateway is sporadic. After not being able to get a live person on the phone and never getting an answer to numerous problem messages on their website I iniated a problem concern on the Better Business Bureau website. I finally got a call and an email from SunStrong today. They stated that since it is only one panel and my system is still generating power They are not going to do anything. So far the only thing they have accomplished is collecting the monthly payment on time. I would not recommend SunStrong to anyone looking to get a solar system. read more
