We have had good luck with super 8 brand. They have really upped their game. This one was so so. The room was clean, except for the floor that was poorly patched. The area was fine. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was less than other super 8 we have stayed at, toast, cereal, sad looking apples. It was fine for our needs. Both guys at front desk, arriving and departing we're pretty unhappy. My big issue was that there were several people waiting to check in and I rushed through check in. This has happened before at super 8, the person at desk points to where you need to initial. I have automatic alerts on my phone for charges. A charge for 2.30 appeared. I went to desk, remembering my past mistake, asking if this charge was for safe. Guy said yeah and walked away. Shady! I checked safe and it was broken. We checked in, but the moment we saw the room, we checked out and left immediately. They still charged us $400 and refused to refund or fix anything. My boyfriend and I were only looking for a simple place to rest for the night, but with this place, you might even leave with bed bugs! I was surprised by how clean and nice the rooms are. You can't tell by the outside. Just how well put together it is. The rooms aren't huge, but the perfect size. Especially for one person. It's hard to find somewhere that's clean and recently priced. Plus, there's gas stations right nearby. Which is definitely convenient. Plus, most of the restaurants are nearby this location. We had 4 nights of amazing sunset views from their 500 sq ft rooftop balcony(rooms 200 or 230 have direct access with chairs you can bring out to sit on) these rooms are clean and beds were comfortable. The breakfast is bare minimum(Coffee, milk, cereal, toast, granola bars and cookies) Those of you who travel using Wyndham hotels a lot like us just note you won't find the full breakfast or pre-packaged pastries & Cinnamon rolls here, but right next door is a country breakfast style restaurant called Home Style Cafe that is open at 6:30am and has great omelettes & biscuits n' gravy. Paul the Manager was great! We found this on Booking.com. I've learned in all of our travels across the continental U.S. to wait before Booking and to do a preview at the hotel first. Originally we planned on Motel 6 for a cheap option, until we drove by and realized it was a hard no. The Super 8 looked nice. I had had an awful experience at Flagstaff Super 8 that scarred me and I wasn't planning to ever book again with Super 8. But Fort Bragg's Super 8 looked shiny and nice. I booked on Booking.com and walked in. The front desk was a gentleman who was Uber friendly and accommodating. He said they usually didn't take Chime the credit builder card I had used on booking but he immediately okayed the manager who quickly okayed my Chime card to be used for incidentals & $20 a night pet fee and made an exception. The room was clean and smelled nice. Easy check in and check out. All the staff were nice and accommodating and friendly to talk to. They said they redid this location 4 months ago. We spoke about how the town is also working on improvements as well. The bed was so comfortable my 8.5 year old son didn't want to get out. Plenty of areas with grass around Hotel to walk our Dalmatian which was a huge plus. They had a small continental breakfast with coffee in the am. A breakfast place called Homestyle Cafe walking distance just beyond Chevron parking lot. Ocean views all around. Would def O stay again! We wish we booked additional nights. There was a strange pipe banging noise all night and the breakfast was prepackaged granola bars, pastries and biscotti, but juice and coffee also. The ice machine was in order. The shower was hot and tub drained well. The heater worked. Definitely one of the better Super 8s we've stayed at. Grade A. read more

This hotel was better than expected. It is located very close to Noyo Harbor. Rooms are small, as in not much free space aside from your bed, Dresser, and a table with 2 chairs. But this hotel is perfect for those who are going to spend most of their day out exploring the area anyway. They had a microwave and a mini fridge. Bathroom was fine. Room was clean and bright. Check-in was no problem and they have probably the friendliest, most helpful front desk associates I have ever experienced at a hotel. We utilized 2 of his recommendations and they were both excellent. In the mornings they offer coffee, tea, fruit and very basic breakfast (think pre-wrapped pastries and bars you may find at COSTCO) but I was appreciative and went to get something each morning. I'd definitely consider to stay here again if Im in the Fort Bragg area. read more

As far as budget motels go, this was one of the better ones. Very basic, but clean. The bathroom seemed to have been pained fairly recently. Amenities are provided (shampoo, etc). Pizza place right in front and gas station behind. My toilet didn't flush very well, however. After the first day, I came back from exploring and shopping and my key card didn't work. I went to the office and had a new one made, and the employee was a bit bored, it seemed. Eh, probably is a boring g job, all in all, so ‍. For the rates, this place can't be beat. The staff was very friendly. The room was clean. The toilet paper had a little bow on it. The cleaner's name was handwritten wishing us a nice stay. The wifi was strong and the password was inside the door key holder. The room itself was comfortable and perfectly fine for a good night's sleep between day hikes. No weird noises at night from other rooms, the street or the parking lot (the police station is just a few minutes away, which the staff tells me helps). Glass Beach is a short drive across the street, and all the Ft. Bragg shops and such are just a few minutes up main street. I stayed in the nearby Motel 6 many years ago and had a much different experience. Thank you, Super 8! I'll be back and I recommend this place to others. read more

Front desk staff get 5 stars, the facility itself and cleaning staff 1 star. Let's start off with they change the sheets every 3 days, WTF?! Didn't know this until the second day. My daughter got in bed and was like is there sand under the sheets. I said maybe it was from her even though she had just gotten showered and was going to bed. I didn't realize the sheets hadn't been changed until the next day when I saw the sign on the mirror, which is small in the corner of the mirror. You have to squint to read it. So who knows what day we were on and what might have happened in the sheets prior. DISGUSTING! The beds were also not comfortable, they need to replaced immediately. We had 2 adults and 2 children and 3 towels. Now the towels are the cheapest towels in the world and are toddler sized. They don't fit around an adult. I asked the cleaning lady for more towels and she said we had to exchange towels- what?! She literally asked me to bring out my towels, counted them and gave me that number. When I asked for 1 extra (4 people, so we have to share?) she said but you only gave me 3 towels...um ok whatever. And last but not least, when we were packing to leave, we stayed multiple nights, my husband calls me into the bathroom to show me the black mold on the ceiling which we had not noticed until now unfortunately. My son and I have bad asthma, black mold is nothing to play with. Wyndham bought this property and put lipstick on a pig and for over $500 for two nights- what! read more

The room was great and the check in person was great. The big problem is super eight wants to use your money with no interest. They insisted on a $100 deposit. I said I would give them a $100 bill and you they could give it back to me in the morning. They said no they can't do that. They said that I needed to give them my credit card. They said it wil be 3 to 4 weeks before the money is returned. I am not a bank. If super eight is that short on money then they need to do something differently. I will think very hard before I ever check in at a super eight again. read more

Room was a very reasonable priced and clean. The bed was horrid and should have been replaced a long time ago. The grab & go breakfast was hostess mini packs, pop tarts belvita fig bars cuties ( tangerines) and juice and coffee.. The staff in the office was friendly and helpful. Housekeeping does not knock before walking in before check out time. My most serious concern with this place is the door had to be shut hard for the lock mechanism to catch. There was no other lock on the door, leaving me feeling somewhat unsafe. There was also extremely loud banging on the adjoining wall late afternoon. We assumed the next room wanted us to turn down the TV ( we did have it a bit loud), later we discovered there was not a guest in that room that night. Also if you sitting up at top of the bed, the remote wo t work as it's to far from TV. Had to sit at end of bed to change channels...sadly I had to ask the helpful young man in the office to fix our remote. It worked perfect when he was standing g right next to the tv. read more

Hardwood floors, freshly painted, and super clean. The table and chairs are a little out dated, but we didn't really use them. Just to store our luggage, ect. I'm giving 4 stars, cause the bed, pillows and linens were ok, definitely wished they were better. Also no closet space. Room is small but decent. Does the job for 2 nights. Over 300 bucks for 2 nights during the week..while in a pandemic? Definitely not worth it. I think people live on site. It's very loud through the night. Walls very thin. People will put cigarettes out on your car! Called to let front desk know. They didn't seem to be too bothered by it..said they " we'll talk to people. Ok...and what's that gonna do for my paint job that now has 2 burns in it? I wanted to like Fort Bragg I really did but the whole place just seemed to be disappointing. The 2 stars was because it did smell clean when we walked in so at least the cleaning staff seems to care. Made a reservation on line. Apparently the dates that I entered was not received correctly. When I was issued my confirmation number I immediately called the Super 8 in Fort Bragg directly to notify the that the reservation dates were incorrect. The receptionist told me that the manager told her that I didn't cancel with in the 24 hours I would be charged $110 dollars and they did take it out of my account. I called again to ask to speak to the manager and they told me he would callback. I still haven't heard back from them. For those that don't know, Super 8 is a budget motel. If you are expecting more than a clean room, free parking and pleasant staff you might want to book a room at another motel. We stayed 2 nights and were really happy that this motel was close to most attractions/activities and at a great price. Get a room on the second floor and you might have a full view of the ocean, we did (room 225). They also serve a bare bones breakfast (pastries, granola bars, fresh fruit, juices and coffee) from 7-10am. Nothing to wake up early for but perfect if you wanna grab something quick on your way to the trails. All in all we were pleased with our stay and have no complaints. read more

Budget hotel in front of the Ocean. My room had a deck and a window with Ocean view! However, it is the closest room to the road, and lies above the lobby. So it gets too noisy. There is a lot of traffic until 2am. Also, some people ouside started speaking very loud early am and woked me up. This room is for heavy sleepers only. Also, this room is smaller than others, with one queen and one twin bed. The hotel and room were clean and feel safe. Furniture is modern and appliances work fine (tv, fridge, microwave, hair dryer, cofee machine, ac/heater). However, The LED TV is small screen, with limited programming and a not a good signal (half of channels can't be watched). Free wifi works fine. Breakfast is good for a budget hotel. There is no dedicated breakfast area and a table stands in the middle of the lobby. Still, it is clean and comfortable. Nice welcome received from the receptionist when arrived. I stayed there Over night September 7th-8th. During the middle of the night a homeless man came SCREAMING "NO" as he had done most of the day. When it happened at 1:30am, It woke me and my dog up at which time my dog decided she needed to go potty, when I made sure the homeless guy was gone, also making a complaint to the very young man from the hotel dumping garbage, I asked him if that happened alot, he said yes. So I took my dog out to go potty and on our walk we went by mountain mikes pizza shop where I found a watch in-between cars. I picked it up and let my dog go to the bathroom. I returned home and while unpacking my stuff found the watch and remembered I had found it in the confusion. I went to work Monday and when I got home seen the watch, not knowing if someone dropped it from the restaurant or the motel I didn't know how to find the owners so I called the motel I stayed at and asked the person who's name is Robert, or that's the name he gave me, and asked him if anyone had reported an apple watch missing, the first thing he said to me was "So you stoled it" I said no I found it and didn't know where it came from, the restaurant or hotel, he again told me I Stoled it, I got very rude with him and asked him if someone from the hotel reported it missing, he said yes, you stole it because you could have turned it into the front office, and me not knowing where it actually came from, I said I didn't steal anything, I found it on the ground and if I REALLY STOLE IT FROM ANYONE, WOULD I BE CALLING TO TRY AND FIND THE OWNERS??? SERIOUSLY? He told me 3 times I stoled it.. I was done with this petty kids accusations! I told him that If someone reported it missing then give them my phone number and I will pay to send it to them when they call me... SO VERY RUDE ROBERT! YOU NEED TO LEARN HOW CUSTOMER SERVICE WORKS!! I called the corporate office to make a complaint on this ... ROBERT, and hope that the owners call me so I can get the watch back to them.. I could have said nothing, but the right thing to do is get it back to the rightful owners!!! This kid at the front desk needs major training in customer service. Eight channels on the TV in 2019 earns only one star. You ever heard of Dish/DirecTV? EDIT: The people running this place are straight-up THIEVES. Upon checking my bank card statement, I found I was charged $150.68 for a room I had agreed to rent for $100.68. The THIEF who answered their phone in response to my WTF inquiry informed me the extra charge is "policy" for "incidentals". "Incidental WHAT?" I asked, as the place was immaculate when I left, I even made the bed before leaving. The Desk THIEF said my bank would refund the $50 I never authorized for them to take in "five to seven" business days. Apparently, they like their asinine policy more than they like their customers. Good for them. They get to keep their rip-off policy, and they've lost a solid repeat customer - I've stayed here at least once each year beginning in 2008, but they'll never see me or my money again. The best budget motel we stayed in during our road trip! We were really impressed from start to finish, from the friendly customer service to the clean and comfortable rooms. We ran into an issue with a hotel booking app that for whatever reason did not send our confirmation to the hotel. It was late, well after midnight, and us as well as two other people were at the night window with the same problem. Christiana was the poor girl working that night and she could not have been more patient and kind to everyone. She kept her cool and got everyone taken care of as quickly as possible, thanks for the great customer service! The room was clean and stylish, with a classy black and white large print of the coast behind the bed. A table and two chairs to sit at, ample mirrors, a flat screen TV, microwave, mini fridge, shampoo AND conditioner (none of this two in one nonsense), outlets *and* USB ports along the nightstands. Checking all the boxes here! They also had something I've never seen before that the staff calls a mocha towel. This little brown towel comes with a card explaining that it's to be used for stains and messes that might stain white towels, like car maintenance or cleaning your pets. Definitely recommend this to anyone looking for an affordable nights stay in the area. read more
