This place is awesome! Noyo Harbor Inn is a gem! My wife wanted to visit Mendo, but everything under $1000 a night was sold out. We sort of randomly chose Noyo Harbor Inn and we love it! The location is great! The rooms are clean and comfortable. They provide a Nescafé machine and pods, including an entire French press coffee set up with grounds. It's incredible! I loved the balcony, and hearing the sea lions barking in the distance was great. Also the off leash dog beach is less than a mile away, it's a nice beach with calm water protected by the marina entrance. Give this place a shot!!! read more

Lovely property and outstanding restaurant, but rooms need updating. My wife and I have stayed at the Noyo Harbor Inn four times and keep coming back for good reason. The property itself is lovely and welcoming--especially with our dog. Staff have always been friendly and accommodating of pets, which we really appreciate. The restaurant (Harbor View Bistro & Bar / Tavern) is the real standout. We love the food, the ambiance, and the views over the harbor. It's consistently one of our favorite places to dine on the Mendocino coast.That said, the rooms are showing their age and are in need of a major refresh. On our most recent stay the bed was not comfortable, and the room overall needed a lot of TLC. Given the higher-end price point, we expected the accommodations to match the quality of the restaurant and the charming grounds.We still enjoy visiting and will likely return for the food and setting, but we'd love to see the rooms brought up to the same standard as the rest of the property. read more

We've stayed here before and had a wonderful experience, which is why we booked a two night stay. Checking in with Sean was great, knowledgeable about everything Fortbragg. First night we discover the small couch is so uncomfortable after 5 minutes you can't sit on it anymore and there isn't another place to sit except the bed. Next morning I go to the front desk to see about another room, we'll as soon as I ask that, I don't remember her name, changed attitude immediately and became quite rude. Couldn't get a definitive answer on anything. The last thing she said to me was "I don't care". Well, went and packed up then back to the desk to hand in the keys all before 9am. The kicker is they charged me $284 for the night I didn't stay. read more

We stopped here on our way north on Hwy 1 and enjoyed a nice dinner and then stayed the night in room 18. The room had a small balcony and couch - and the bed was so, so comfy! The restaurant is dog friendly out on the back patio, which is where you want to sit anyhow to watch the boats and wildlife on the marina. Friendly staff made the stay extra enjoyable! Their happy hour menu was only $1 cheaper than the drinks from the regular menu, nothing crazy but the drinks were tasty and fresh. After seeing the ocean view photos on their website, I requested an "ocean view" room for my husband's birthday weekend. WOW, were we surprised to see the view from our balcony: we saw a huge parking lot of cars & trucks and buildings that were either canneries and/ or fish restaurants. The ocean was barely visible on the far horizon. Super disappointing. No other rooms available on the harbor, so we requested a refund on 'false advertising' which they didn't argue. They refunded one night's stay and we luckily found a room at the North Cliff Hotel, which was lovely and I highly recommend. We've heard that the restaurant is very good but we were so mad at that point that we cancelled our dinner reservation. read more

"Queen of the Harbor"--that's what my husband called me during our romantic getaway in Fort Bragg, and it was truly a magical experience. Whether you're a Bay Area local or visiting from afar, I highly recommend a stay at the Noyo Harbor Inn. Our room was absolutely lovely, complete with a bathtub for two overlooking the harbor and a cozy fireplace to set the perfect ambiance. The sound of the sea lions "arphing" and the sight of boats drifting by made it feel like we were in our own little world. The harbor itself is a wonderful place to stroll, and the inn's grounds are beautiful to explore. A beautiful spot overlooking our own Noyo Harbor where no expense for aesthetic beauty has been overlooked. Our server Serenity was a great guide for the experience. I recommend the Candy Cap old fashioned, a great blast to your palette with a nice hint of maple syrup very smooth. I also had the clams and mussels in their own special pesto cream sauce which left me wanting more. I tried the appetizer but next time it may be on the pasta as it'll I had to hold up from drinking the broth. Super disappointed with the service! I made reservations ahead of time! The person ahead of us wasn't even asked if she had a reservation. They sat her outside. Then they continue to tell us they have no tables outside and there was an empty table. So we weren't important enough to sit out even though I made reservations. How ever it was reserved for someone else. So what am I missing? We make reservations or not? We always eat here so we always make reservations. No more spending money here! I cannot say enough positive things about this wonderful hotel. I have been fortunate to stay twice in the past year, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience both times. Everything is guest-centric, from the friendly front desk staff to the room decor to the hotel grounds- we were literally surrounded by a peaceful environment and provided with high end amenities. I don't know what I enjoyed most- our wrap around balcony with seating, overlooking the harbor, or our room complete with a garden tub, fireplace, and full coffee setup - it was all so amazing. We appreciated the fully fenced dog park for our bulldog, admired the onsite organic garden, and enjoyed both a delicious dinner (on a dog-friendly patio) and a room service breakfast. Excellent customer service. We booked a last minute getaway and were given a great room up on the hill. Parking was close to our room. Room has everything you need - if not, just ask! Staff is very accommodating. Bed and pillows were cozy- slept like a baby. We had a giant bathtub by the window to watch the Sunset over the ocean. Housekeeping was very friendly and came while we were at breakfast so we could return back to a fresh, clean room by late morning. French Press coffee and Nespresso in room with lots of choices, also teas. Mugs were always changed out for clean ones. Plenty of towels provided. The NHI restaurant was the best meal we had in town. This review is for the restaurant, where we had a reservation for New Year's Eve. Food was sooooo good!!! Lots of things were the best I've ever had including the schnitzel (and I lived in Germany for a year and a half), the gnocchi, and the lemon raspberry cake. It overall, five thumbs up from everyone in the party. I also appreciated that that had delicious wine by the glass, which was not priced much over the retail price you'd get at a grocery store. We went to Noyo Harbor Inn for a benefit dinner for a local organization/fundraiser. It was an expensive prix fix menu, and advertised as including tip. When our bill came it added an additional huge 22% "service fee," AND listed additional tip % suggestions!! I politely asked about why the service fee was added when it was advertised as being included in the high price of the meal (which DID NOT include any drinks), and showed the staff member the advertisement with the stated inclusions. They said they didn't know why it said that, that it should not have advertised as tip included, and that they could not find the manager, so they were going to wave the service fee just for me. Of course that put us in the embarrassing position of looking cheap and if we didn't shell-out the hefty additional $, then the servers would not be paid. In addition, the management chose to put our expensive fundraiser dinner event out on the freezing cold windy patio with sparse heat lamps for the nighttime event on a stormy night, obviously so they could keep the dining rooms open to more customers. The event and dinner service was disjointed and very slow, taking over three hours to wrap up, and we were actually shivering by the end. The appetizers were so-so to medium quality, the main course was good to standard, and the desert was thrown together and terrible: a sandwich of overly-frozen ice cream (on a freezing windy night on the patio!) between two dry and crumbling tasteless almond (?) cookies. While trying to appear they were charitably hosting and supporting a good local cause, the Noyo Harbor Inn hastily provided an over inflated mediocre meal; seated a large party of high paying customers outside in the cold in late fall and not in the comfortable main dining rooms and cozy ambiance the restaurant is known for; and over charged customers, obviously trying to increase their profits for the evening and have the staff covered by the fundraiser while advertising otherwise. NOT a good look for Noyo Harbor Inn. We will not recommend to visiting friends and family. read more

The hotel is wonderful but the booking system is horrible. This is a boutique hotel where every room is different, unlike a Sheraton that may have 100 identical rooms, I booked room 6, which has a balcony and view over the boat harbor and upriver. When we arrived the clerk informed me that room 6 was occupied by someone who had booked before me. A fundamental feature of any booking service should be to tell you if what you want is unavailable. Well, we loved the backdrop and we actually did not read the page they give you (as per most with the exception of the Wi-Fi password). Bistro on site is closed on Tuesday but open for breakfast the next day. 5-5 on food and peesentation. We were put out by the room not having AC and a loud industrial fan we are told to use after 20 min of trying to work the non-working AC controls. We were told they are on the coast and that should be sufficient with the fan running. Hmmmm and along with that little item there was a heavy motor over our #6 unit running all night. (Annoying). First visit for lunch today and left very satisfied. Service was friendly and attentive. The dining room is cozy and there's also an expansive outdoor deck overlooking a peaceful cove. My partner and I each had the Rick cod sandwich - it got to the table steaming hot on a brioche bun with tarter sauce, pickles and lettuce - the breading was a little heavier than I like but that's just a personal preference. This review covers the restaurant only. We had lunch on a sunny day on the deck overlooking the harbor and looking out inland up the Noyo River. It provides one of the best, if not THE best meal time view in Ft. Bragg. I had the cheeseburger and fries - straightforward and not fancy, but delicious. The burger was large, and wider than it was tall, which I appreciate, and the fries were the best I've had in Ft. Bragg. My partner had the Caesar salad w a side of fries. Similarly straightforward and delicious. The whole meal plus 20% tip and just water to drink came out to about $50. That's on the expensive side for a sit down lunch in Ft Bragg, but it felt worth it for an occasional or vacation treat. One unusual thing about eating at NHI was how peaceful it felt. In Ft. Bragg, it's hard to eat anywhere outside where there isn't traffic noise and visuals to remind you you're in a busy town. The deck at NHI faces away from town and up the River, so the only sounds you hear are the sea lions, the ocean, and boats. And you're looking at the River and forest. So very very idyllic! It seems like the perfect place to go for a slow easy lunch that ends with a long quiet read over dessert coffee. Plus, the grounds are very well maintained. read more

I really have no idea how someone messes up an "impossible" burger, but they did... we ordered two of them and both were so burned it really ruined the night. I ended up eating just the bun and veggies and fries. $90 got us 2 burned impossible burgers, one regular burger for my daughter, and a small bowl of pasta for my son. Didn't have to wait too long but since I was just a party of two and my guest wasn't able to make it, the usher quickly made adjustment and seated me behind a group of 8. I'm sure the wait person will be able to get to me, this place has a good reputation after all. -Waited about 10/15 min to see a waiter, which is ok, it's a busy place by the looks of it. But this time, I have already made up my mind what to get... The soup of the day, a non alcoholic beverage and the Petrale Sole, apparently locally caught. Didn't see the dessert menu yet, but I'm sure they have something that's made at the restaurant and not pre-prepared. Looking forward to that! -Gave the waiter my order, he went away. Someone brought over water and some yummy nuts and olives. Then the wait... About 15 min. The soup came, delicious pumpkin soup! Waited another 10 minutes after I'm done with the soup. The Sole arrives. Beautifully arranged! The dish is delicious! I take my time finishing it. And another long wait starts! -The usher from the front checks up on me. My waiter is nowhere. The usher brings me over the dessert menu after I look at him and shrug my shoulder in defeat. He goes looking for the waiter. Still no waiter after probably 10/15 min. I was going to ask the waiter when he showed up what was made at the restaurant, but never really got a chance. The usher shows up and I tell him I'm not going to get dessert and may I please have the check instead... -The waiter finally shows up with the check and had the gall to tell me off handedly "...so no dessert tonight". Not even a question. -The attitude throughout the night by this person was shockingly bad! Love brunch here! Dinner is great as well, but I'm usually catching a Monday morning brunch after work. Clarissa is great, always friendly and great service. Food comes out so hot I had to blow it to enjoy, so great! This time had a special, it was an omelette and so delicious! Eggs cooked perfectly, fully cooked but no overdone brown. Potatoes roasted with onion and bell peppers were so good as well! The view is amazing, if is sunny it's nice and warm, if it's cold they have heaters. Love it here. read more

The food was good, overall, but the service was terrible. Waiting times for ordering and between courses was absurdly long. Upon check-in the front desk person said "were you told about room 7?" My wife and I looked at each other like uh oh...  Then she proceeded to tell us " you must have booked it on google" (we didn't) and it's kind of small. Also if you stay out past 9:30 you won't be able to get into your room because you have to cut through the restaurant and it closes at 9:30. At that point I said maybe we should just get our money back... And she said really sarcastically, that's not going to happen! The same woman escorted us through the restaurant to the room(we had our bags and pet, Awkward!) When we saw the room we were shocked.  It looked like it was at one time a storage room off the restaurant. It was basically a bed and a bathroom, facing the restaurant.  Meaning that people eating dinner outside can see in. It was also hot so I asked where the AC was so I could cool it down. To which she replied,  there is no AC, it will cool down by tonight. My wife and I were exhausted after a 4 hour drive so we just decided to try our  best to deal with it and not let it ruin our mini vacation.  It gets worse... We found huge hairballs and filthy sheets (see pic) We needed to charge our phones and found an extension cord that looked like it had burn marks (see pic) a cracked shower floor (see pic) (I wore sandals to avoid injury) We also discovered in the early morning that the sun shines directly in the room (see pic) so at 7am we woke up to a sweltering room in bright light.  No blackout shades to block the light or stop the restaurant patrons from peaking in... We decided not to stay a second night and just drove home.  When we checked a different person was at the front desk and said, unfortunately we will not be able to refund your second night.  ( we didn't even ask, we just wanted to get out of there) Please see all the pictures.   We've never complained about a room before and I'm hoping to save anyone else from ruining their vacation with a rude, condescending front desk person and awful hotel experience. read more

I really like this inn. The room has nice appointments, they try to make it really clean and modern. It's small and cozy. It has a gas's fireplace in the room, it heats up quickly. And of course the view is great, one of the best parts. A big bathtub overlooking the bridge and harbor entrance. Saw whales in the water spouting from the patio. It's a great location. You can walk to one of the many restaurants in the Noyo Harbor for lunch or dinner. The restaurant they have at the inn is also decent, we took brunch there and it was a nice experience. read more

Worst fish and chips I ever had. ate one bite and it was an inedible. $28 for the "captains platter" jumbo shrimp, scallops, and terrible fish and chips. Hubby had just fish and a salad and his salad was awful too. Sent everything back. The fish was burned on the outside, and doughy, and not cooked on the inside. Ordered a Caesar salad took one bite had the weirdest flavor I've ever had didn't finish it at all. Please bring salads out before the food. Got salads and entrée at the same time. The $15 margarita was really good. You would have to have five of them to eat that food. We loved that it was dog friendly and they brought water to our dog. The outside eating area was very nice. Came to the area to eat at Noyo fish company and they were closed. So sad for us. read more
