We pulled out the filters in the air conditioner and they were filthy. The carpet is filthy. Like makes your feet black filthy. The ice maker was broken. There's layers of dust in the coffee maker. I could probably go on forever. The pool and hot tub were drained and out of service "because Covid". They are not serving breakfast "because covid" as well as not cleaning rooms unless requested "because covid". Yet everything is wide open now in MI as well as many other states. And no one in this place wears masks, so how are all these cancelled amenities due to covid restrictions? I'd have sympathy for them if they were conscientious and honestly concerned about covid, but that's not what's going on here. Clearly the ownership has used covid as an excuse to run a disgusting, subpar establishment, avoid cleaning and not make repairs. There's housekeeping carts and other messy equipment all over the hallways. They left the doors to the storage and laundry rooms open and they're a mess. All of the doors to the outside that are supposed to be locked are wide open. An obviously intoxicated man without a shirt was hanging around outside and tried to get my attention when i was in the car. NOPE. I drove off. If I was traveling alone I would not feel safe. We were in town for a wedding and had no other option. We will absolutely, positively not be back. I hope we don't get sick. Update: My fear of contracting something from this gross place was realized. We came home with nasty cases of foot fungus. Just don't go here!!!!

Lowell is a sweet small town - some nice historic architecture, the flour mill across the street and had a great meal next door at Easy Street.

As with any breakfast buffet, scrambled eggs tend to dry out after a while, but they are quite good if you get them when a new dish comes out. Sometimes, they have mini-omelettes, which I have found to be very good. There is also a pancake machine that turns out great pancakes. There is no restaurant or bar in the hotel, but there is a Mexican restaurant across the street, as well as a coffee place. There is every fast-food chain imaginable on the same road as the hotel. There is also a Chili's that is short drive towards downtown. If you find yourself in or near Hastings, Michigan, you should (1) figure out why you are there; and (2) stay at this hotel.

From the almost two feet thick mattress to the unique accessories arranged throughout (and all available in the store downstairs!) this place is a winner! The Loft is very "urban chic." There are three other suites which consist of a "girly" suite called The Terrace, which has very feminine roses and pink/green motifs, then there is the Spa Suite which is small with a shower to die for.....and the final Suite is a one bedroom called The Manor which is very English Manor house in design. The uniqueness of each room means each stay could be different! Hastings is better for having this choice, believe me! The only downside is the trek up the stairs (no elevator) but for this area of the world it is the ONLY choice in my book! This extended stay set of suites sits atop a retail gift store by the same name.... I also shopped in the store for a wicked cool "hand" to hold my jewelry! I wish I could have boxed the whole store up and brought it back to Phoenix! Prices are very reasonable and the eclectic selection very well displayed! All around WIN! First off, a big shout-out to "Brett" at the front desk - I'd called ahead for a late arrival - and he very efficiently checked me in with an entire lobby filled with youth baseball players and their parents! My room was so immaculate - I had flashbacks to my early teens - back to when my dear Mother would spotlessly clean my bedroom. My accommodations at The Hampton were extremely spacious (much bigger than my room growing-up, that's for sure) and the walk-in shower was huge! The complimentary breakfast the next morning was ample and delicious - a great start to my next 100 miles of driving. Update to my previous review …read more... My third time staying here to visit sick family and each experience has been easy and wonderful! Thank you. Wonderful experience! From start to finish I had a great experience and it's in large part due to Parker, a front desk employee. He/him is professional and friendly and upbeat, a joy to interact with and very helpful. I have been coming to Grand Rapids from the Cincinnati area for the past three weeks and will be doing so for the unforeseeable future... I am in town to visit a sick family member and it's all very difficult so to walk into a hotel and to be greeted with genuine enthusiasm and kindness is everything in that moment. I went to my room with a smile after spending a day in tears... truly thank you for having such wonderful employees. Okay, as far as the hotel is concerned... loved my room and the shower was amazing! They had shampoo and condition and body soap on the wall full of decent products.... I had forgotten body soap and hate bars so I was very thankful for the body soap! Everything was just easy..... I am an early morning person so I was heading to the hospital early each day and completely forgot they have a free breakfast... family member's that had the breakfast said it was great- cousin grabbed oatmeal and berries I think she said each morning on the way to hospital.... Finally, one of the nights I was in the lobby with a cousin waiting for another family member and when we were all ready to leave for dinner I neglected to grab my purse from the chair.... So after about 30 minutes I realized it and was devastated, assuming it was gone for good...I started thinking about all my losses and the credit cards numbers I'd have to call and then I called Parker. He/him found my purse and we came and got it.... Again, such a wonderful and kind exchange. I had a big bag of Costco chocolates in my car I promised her and on my drive home I saw them in my rear view mirror-- Parker- they are headed your way next week... and genuinely, thank you for your amazing and kind service!
