I suppose with a Super 8 you should know what you're getting, but I was still a little disappointed with my experience here. There are many pros, namely convenience of staying here if you're involved with anything at the Deschutes County Fairgrounds and Expo as it's close enough for a 2 minute drive or 10 minute walk. The room was mostly clean, if a bit dated and in need of a refresh. Pets are welcome in some rooms, and it seemed like a family-friendly place as there were always kids playing in the indoor pool. Rooms have the normal amenities like a minifridge, coffee maker, etc., it's no frills but I had everything I needed during my stay. Free continental breakfast is included with bagels, yogurt, cereal, pastries, fruits, etc., it was helpful to grab some to go food on the way out to hold me over. There's an Applebee's across the street you get a 10% off discount with room card - but their hours were short so I never used this. Rates here are wildly mixed when you book, around $100 for normal rooms. Look for sales/discounts. Views aren't special, with your choice of either the highway or a train track; noise ended up being quiet overall. Parking is plentiful and free right outside. Staff was meh, not rude but also not welcoming. I felt I never had enough shampoo/soap in my room. read more

Should have checked this site before booking/staying here!! Ugh. Got to my room Friday afternoon (June 6) and I was hit with an odor from the room that was indescribable!! I noticed the window was cracked open and should not have stayed, but I did. the carpet was disgusting so couldn't walk barefoot in the room. If the carpet in the entire hotel was replaced, this could be a decent place, but for now, I could not recommend staying here. Do not pay for the park and fly package! Checked in to Super 8 Redmond and requested a non smoking room, but was given a smoking room. When I arrived, the room door was propped open and not locked. In the morning the shuttle was not in front of the building at the time I requested it the night before. The desk clerk said my shuttle had already left. Finally, a boyfriend of the regular driver showed up from inside the motel and used his work pickup to take me. I had to load my bags over his work tools. Not the shuttle service I expected. When I returned from my trip the shuttle was not at the airport to pick me up. I submitted my flight number and times, but they did not provide a pick up based on my information. I had to call two times to get picked up. At 12:30am I was alone in front of the airport still waiting for the shuttle that was over 40 minutes late after my first call. I could have walked to pick up my car faster. Tired and exhausted from a long day, this situation was very dangerous for a single woman and very very unprofessional considering I was paying for the service. The heat/AC unit is a little ridiculous. It's designed to blow the curtains in the air when it runs. You have to keep the curtains shut so the parking lot light doesn't keep you up. But shit, did I tell you what I paid for this room? $41. That's right, $41. In 2017 that's pretty darn cheap. And that includes TV with HBO, free wifi, and FREE BREAKFAST! Would I eat this free breakfast? Some nasty ass hard boiled eggs and maybe a wall paper paste bagel? Some Captain Crunch and make your own waffle and high fructose corn syrup with caramel color fake maple syrup? Not bloody likely. But still, it's included! But I've saved the best for last. We stayed here for a wrestling tournament. They had double booked the rooms for our team so the ones we had reserved and paid for were given to other guests. Check in took about 45 minutes trying to put us into other rooms. Some rooms have a microwave and fridge, others only had a tv. If you turn on the heater or AC the curtains fly open so we had to line the window with our luggage to keep it closed. Breakfast was very basic, staff did not refill items that ran out, they kept coming out to make themselves a plate but did not refill anything that was all gone. Front desk worker climbed over the top of the desk to come in and out instead of going through the door. They allowed us to use the conference room for our team meeting which was nice. My parents made reservations to stay here after attending a wedding in Redmond and I didn't have any say in the booking since I was in the wedding party and super busy and I left it in their hands. They are cheap AF. We rolled up to this place after a long tired day at the wedding and I immediately felt a sense of dread wash over me. The place is stucco inside and out. The exterior, the hallways, the room walls... All stucco. The carpet is worn and grody everywhere. Our non-smoking room smelled like a daggum ashtray and the fitted sheets are too small for the bed and pop off. I hate this place. If I hadn't been a little drunk on champagne and too tired to make a fuss about it I would have gone across the street to the comfort suites. I regret that now. I think I have pretty high standards and I don't usually stay in less expensive hotels like this but I think maybe people who are used to Super 8 and the like would be fine with it. I don't know. I will never stay here again because a USED condom turned up after we moved furniture in the room the last morning of our stay. We did not notice this item at first since it was hidden underneath something, but it had clearly been in the room for quite some time as it looked gross and was caked with lint/dust. Which brings me to another concern that we never actually heard vacuums running during our 2 day stay. The layer of dust/lint surrounding the perimeter of the room proves this room was never deep cleaned. The staff member that initially handled the situation was apologetic and promptly had a housekeeper come and remove the condom. However, when the situation was brought up with the front desk host (Elizabeth) she strongly inferred that we put the item in the room and that there was no way to know who had been responsible for cleaning the room. Elizabeth's exact words were, "Our housekeepers are very thorough and move furniture so I'm not sure how it got there? You checked in and used the room for 2 days, didn't let housekeeping go in and only asked for towels. So who's to say how it got there, your room was deep cleaned before you checked-in." I was so upset and embarrassed that I actually told her (with customers in the lobby) that I have my tubes tied (and obviously don't use condoms with my husband) and I swear we DID NOT put that item in the room. I actually swore to God about it! Plus our kids and grandson had been with us the entire time when we were in the room. We weren't looking for a discount or anything we just wanted it to be clear that someone obviously is not doing their job! The accusation that it could have possibly been our condom was above and beyond ridiculous! The worst part is the thought that if my grandson had been a little younger he may have found it and put it in his mouth. Which is why we were stressing the importance of the situation. Families shouldn't have to worry about that. This was a horrible way to end our vacation, and the fact that Elizabeth was more concerned with blaming us than acknowledging the obvious problem just added insult to injury. SAVE YOURSELF the stress and DON'T EVER BOOK HERE!!!!!!!!!! This place is disgusting!!!! The pool/spa looked clean at first but closer inspection revealed HEAVILY chlorinated, murky water with debris. Decent hotel in Redmond. However, checkin was a nightmare. We were headed on a trip for Labor Day weekend and had reservations here for a one night stop over. We arrived about 10pm and patiently waited to be checked in for about 30 minutes. There was no one at the counter to check us in. The door to the front desk was left open and there wasn't a soul in sight. We rang the bell and called the phone number several times. The gal finally emerged from elsewhere in the hotel and said her phone must have died. Other than checkin everything else went smoothly. However, I find it very odd that the front was left totally unattended for such a long period of time. read more

The hotel looked fine from the outside but the rooms and service were lacking. The heating unit in the first room we were put in didn't work (and this was during a freezing snow storm). The second room reeked of air freshener and didn't have a remote control for the TV. When I called the front desk about the missing remote I was first told to search the room again and shed look for a spare remote. She called back 20 minutes later to see if I'd found it (I hadn't) and said she would look (she'd already said she would do this) but might have to move us again. She finally delivered a remote (about 1/2 hour after my first call) and I asked for a couple more pillows because those we had were very flat. She told me the hotel was "in the middle of a remodel" and for now "what we got was what we got." (My husband had to roll his coat up and put under his pillow to make it cushy enough.) The road noise is HORRIBLE. If you do stay here, bring ear plugs! I brought mine and slept okay but my husband forgot his and was awake most of the night. He joked that they should rename the hotel "Jake Brake 8" because of all the braking semis going by on Hwy 97. So, it's clean, the beds reasonably comfortable, but weigh that against the other factors and I'll stay elsewhere next time. read more

This is probably the best super 8 I've ever stayed at, I travel for work and I've stayed in plenty of super 8 motels and this one was way better than any of those. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were clean, the staff was friendly and helpful. We booked a double queen room and it didn't have a fridge and microwave, which we needed since we bought food to eat and needed to store it so we requested to move rooms and they changed us over without an issue. The room we received was bigger and for our needs. We stayed for 4 days and didn't run into a problem. The breakfast is a little minimal, although the biscuits and gravy is really delicious. The vending machine takes cash or you can download an app and load money onto it electronically. Hot tub is a little warm and had too much chlorine but that's not the hugest problem. Tv channels are a little slim. read more

The only good review is that the bed was okay and that the bathroom seemed clean. As soon as you walk in there are signs on the door stating that masks are mandatory in areas as expected no problem with that, BUT the two ladies that worked the front desk never wore a mask the entire time I saw them. When I did see them they were outside most of the time smoking. The rooms have garbage bins but no trash bags. The hotel itself is outdated and smells like cigerette smoke. read more

Well worth the price. Be sure to look at prices on both Kayak and Travelocity as one tends to be cheaper than the other. I came here after a week at the motel 6 here in town and it is night and day! The bed here is super comfy and the room is modern contemporary and not outdated 80s or 90s like most cheap places. I noticed they put in a bag of coffee for every day of my stay here too whereas motel 6 didn't have coffee in the rooms. Another huge bonus is the full-length bath tubs here. I am almost 6' and can stretch out in the tub very easily. The view is nice and parking is easy to find. Also, Liz at the front desk is a complete doll. She even told me about the weekly rates and is going to communicate with the manager for me since I will be busy working. read more

Not only did our key not work multiple times going up to the room but it also took us over 30 minutes to check in because the woman at the front desk didn't know what she was doing. We asked if we could check in early due to being out of town and they refused without even checking to see if there were rooms available. We have been riding all day and we were dusty and exhausted. (We arrived at 1:30 and check in is at 3) so if you want to check in early I don't recommend staying here at all. Needs better staff most definitely but the hotel itself isn't so bad. Great place to stay on your visit. we spent 10 days here while our new home was in closing, and the entire ten days were better than we expected. the employees were wonderful, and we had a small dog, and a bird and cage the whole time. we were abe to use the pool, and spa, and enjoyed breakfast daily. definitely made life time friends with them, and have now used them to book family and friends when they visit us. we don't need to open our house and give up beds, etc. and our family and friends love the thought that they have the pool, spa, and breakfast and security and not inconveniencing us in our home. hope you'll give this business a chance, and I know you'll be satisfied. best wishes to you in your travels. First off, get here early and stay on ground floor. Apparently, third floor is the "smoking floor" with some non-smoking rooms mixed in. I was told by the clerk at check-in that "the third floor smells like cigarette smoke" (even in non-smoking rooms) and "...you can still smell the smoke on the second floor". Smoking rooms in 2014? Mixed in with non-smoking rooms?!?!? Did we time warp back to 1970 when we were all blissfully ignorant about second hand smoke? Walk into your room and it is four blank walls with dingy carpet. Look out the window and your are looking at the parking lot through whatever has grown between the panes of your window glass once the seal broke. Go to unlatch the window and find that the latch doesn't actually DO anything. In its' place they have inserted a too short wooden dowel with some sort of black slimy/moldy stuff on either end. Bedding looked clean but mattress was a brick. Toilet clogged and I called the front desk to get it fixed. Was told by the desk clerk that she would drop a plunger by for me to use since "it is not our standard protocol to unclog guests' toilets for them". I wanted to ask what standard protocol would have been if I had allowed the clogged toilet to run and flood the place instead of stopping it myself. Breakfasts were ok. Prepackage cinnamon rolls were gross, but there was biscuits and gravy and hard boiled eggs on alternate days. Yogurt was nice, too. Need to get a second waffle maker and stop filtering coffee through what tastes like an old sweat sock. Bleh! One saving grace to our stay was the evening staff person Amanda! What a great example of customer service. Pleasant in person and on the phone. Always willing to go just a little bit beyond. AND I don't think she would know what an anti-customer service "protocol" looked like if it bit her! My family and I met my folks here at the half way mark between Northern California and North Idaho for the night. My daughter is vacationing with her grandparents after today. The room was well appointed, very updated, and the beds were comfortable. Our room location was really quiet. The room rate for the night was $140 which was fair compared to most area hotels which were $200 and up per night during this July. The customer service at the front desk was very warm and friendly last night at check in. The extended continental breakfast is just that, cold hard boiled eggs, yogurt, cold cereals, apples and oranges, instant oatmeal, packaged cinnamon rolls, and a waffle iron with batter to make hot waffles. The waffles were the only hot item available. I would upgrade my review to 5 stars if they added scrambled eggs and bacon or sausage, hash browns, or biscuits and gravy. It would be easy to have an electric skillet to provide scrambled eggs and bacon or sausage. read more

One of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in. To preface, we needed to go to Redmond for a night and for some reason practically hotel room in the town was full so we wound up at the Super 8. Upon arriving in our room we noticed the chain lock on the door was broken, not all items in the bathroom had been stocked (tissue dispenser with an empty box of tissues, 4 little bottles of shampoo, no conditioner or lotion, etc.), brown smudges on the bathroom walls - I could go on. I promptly went downstairs and asked for a different room. They didn't have any extra rooms, but offered a discount. I accepted.
