I am warning you, do not stay at this motel. Not only is it absolutely disgusting, but the business owners and the people running the front are crooked as all get out. The place stinks like Indian food and it looks like it's just a rundown, empty, U-Haul place because there is U-Haul's all over the parking lot but no patrons. It's such a racket. I'm not even sure it's a legit business. They also run the one next-door, which is a quality Inn, but nobody's there the windows are boarded up and it's just awful. A total rip off. Not to mention they charged us for things that we didn't do. There's nothing to pay for there so they made up these charges and these people are just crooked crooked crooked. I'm posting pictures so you can see for yourself how disgusting it is. The toilet seat was so gross and literally you can get a toilet seat for under $20 but no, they'd rather have you sit on something so gross. The room was horrible. There was peeling popcorn ceiling in the room. There was a hole that had been patched and not painted. The sink didn't drain properly, the toilet seat was disgusting (torn up, burned and discolored), We didn't shower because we were too afraid of the condition of the shower. The pillows are like hard throw pillows not even regular size pillows. After being up 28 hours loading to move and load a UHaul we were too tired to just leave.The hotel is overpriced for the condition it is in. I was charged $70 for an early check in charge and left by 5 pm the same day. That is completely unacceptable and ridiculous. I would not recommend anyone stay there. read more

Rochester, Indiana is a relatively small community in North Central Indiana with its main attraction being its proximity to Lake Manitou. One of the key downsides to Rochester is its abysmal hotel situation. Rochester has three hotels - a Super 8, a Quality Inn, and the rather frightening Rochester Motel ($35 a night). Of the three, there's no question that Super 8 is the preferred destination despite is mediocrity. Both Super 8 and Quality Inn are managed by the same team despite actually being under different brands. This is a run-down yet somewhat spruced up motel that is on the lower-end of the already modest Super 8 chain. I will admit a weird fondness for Super 8 and I had high hopes for this one as they'd originally offered an incredible deal because I was in town on a fundraising event. All of that fell apart when a couple members of our party decided to go to an AirBnB to do laundry. Thus, the previous good deal became an absurdly bad one. On the plus side, the interior decorations are pleasant and the accessibility isn't bad here. There's an accessible parking spot, a non-ADA compliant curb cut, and a room with a somewhat decent roll-in shower (though the bench is too far away from the actual shower). The bed was low enough. I was in room 124. The manager was obviously frustrated with two members of the party leaving (which I had not known about as they were in the Quality Inn), however, calmed down as my demeanor is typically friendly. Overall, we got along pretty well. I like that they had a washer/dryer for guests (though having it right by the lobby is weird). They offered a free breakfast, though it was paltry. He did note you could go next door to the Quality Inn. The hotel was quiet, though it also didn't have many people. It was also a little weird that as I entered my room, someone was walking by my window in a wooded area behind the hotel. A tad creepy. Overall, this was fine for one night. However, at the price I was ultimately charged I wouldn't think of returning. All three Rochester hotels are dumpy - this is your best option (I've stayed in all three). There's signs of some improvement here - plus, it's next to a Wal-Mart with a McDonald's within walking distance. However, this is truly a no-frills experience that is pet friendly and for the non-discerning overnight guest. I'd originally been booked next door, however, their accessible room was in need of repair and I was re-booked at Super 8. I'm not thrilled the original agreement wasn't honored - I get it, but I also get my circumstances hadn't changed and I wasn't the one who left. I ultimately paid for someone else's choices. Would I return? Nope. Did I hate it? Nope. A decent experience for a quick stay. read more

Booked a room there while traveling as it was somewhat close to our destination and we were tired of driving. Got into our room around 2AM. Turned on the AC because they do not keep them on. After laying in bed for 15 minutes we realized the AC was broke and it felt like it was 90 degrees in there. Went to the front desk and they moved us. HOWEVER the room we were moved to had a ceiling falling down in not only the entry way but the bathroom. It was 2:30 in the morning and since we would only be there less than 5 hours we decided to stay and try and get some sleep. On top of the inside looking awful the outside was just as bad, grass was not mowed and the parking lot is full of Uhaul trailers. My guess is they rent them out.. The window to provide feedback directly through the booking agency has passed and I feel compelled to review my stay at this place. So Yelp we go. I had a last-minute trip for a memorial service in the area and arrived late at the airport. So it was a rushed booking of this hotel in a town with little option for over-night accommodations. I had no expectations and still this place managed to shock me. - The towels are stained. They are so old, so thin and washed out that the hoops are gone; - The bedsheets are so thin, so old that with one finger, they could be poked through; - Everything on the bed is so old that they should be thrown out into the landfill. Hopefully the fabrics are biodegradable. - Hair on the floor. Not my hair! Sigh. read more

The room was nice, clean and fresh. The front counter lady was polite. This is the good part of the stay. It was anything but peaceful. There was a family that appeared to be living there, slamming doors, kids running up and down the hallway screaming, being loud in their room until 10 PM, the noise started again early in the morning, just when I tried to get more sleep, the cleaning staff started with vacuuming and being loud. So if you want a nice quite restful stay go somewhere else. read more

We were amazed by the Rochester Super 8. My husband and I only stay in 4 or 5 star hotels. We have been in Rochester multiple times, but have refused to stay in a hotel here because we assumed it would not be up to our standards. We were forced to get a room over Thanksgiving, we just had no choice but to book a room. We were so amazed by the cute, clean room. The staff is so friendly and helpful, we were not surprised by that, we live on the east coast and coming to the Midwest is always a friendly experience. The room was peaceful and relaxing, and did I mention it was clean and cute?! I would recommend this hotel to anyone. AND they accept pets, which was a must for us. read more

The staff here is always friendly and welcoming. The rooms have been clean, and with the last renovation, the rooms seem well kept. It's close to the highway and local business area. There is a small continental breakfast included. Super 8 offers a reasonable pillow for your head when visiting the big metropolis of Rochester. read more

BAD: The smell of smoke bellowed out of the non-smoking hallway and room. The interior latch to exit or room continually froze, forcing us to perform a hammer slam on the latch to open the room door. The hair dryer frozeid-use and stopped working. The Wi-Fi Internet access never worked, even though the front desk girl confirmed it worked. GOOD: We had shelter and a breakfast. Friendly staff. Regardless, we will probably not be back to this hotel until there is significant improvement on the hotel mechanics. Sometimes, you just get what you pay for. read more

First of all, I've been staying at the Super 8 in Rochester for 5 years and I continue receive a tabletop mini ironing board. Okay, a mini board costs $26.99 on Amazon; a full-size costs $17.78. It's time to update the ironing board! Secondly, I walked into my room and it was completely unsatisfactory. I didn't realize how much until I was transferred into another room. When I entered the first room it was unkempt - can you at least vacuum the floor. I had a dinner date, so I entered the room and left in a hurry. After the evening, I returned for a nice shower. Unfortunately, I was greeted by a dirty, sticky floor. I can over look this, "no big deal" then I entered the shower. There was a hair in the shower, "no big deal" I've worked in the restaurant industry and this stuff happens. Next, hello shower and hello, cold water! I have no hot water in my shower! I called the desk and they promise me hot water tomorrow. After the shower I settled into bed and enjoyed beating on the wall all night long because I could hear the gentlemen next door sawing logs all night. Next morning, next cold shower, next room change. Next room has been great, but it makes me realize how crappy the last room was. What happen to some sort of consistency, why can a room slip that far beyond the cracks, and why me!? read more

I booked a room using the 1-800 number and when I got there I was told it was just 1 double bed instead of the 2 double beds I requested. The lady at the counter was very rude and said that there is no way I called in the reservation, her girls would have known that the room was 1 bed. read more

This motel could use some updating and repairs. The bed was very comfortable and it was quiet. It just needs to have the bathrooms updated. We had the deluxe king suite. You would think it would be better. The caulking in the bathroom was awful. I thought the sink was going to fall out. The workers are really great. The man that cleaned our room did a great job. It was spotless and well stocked. The ladies at the front desk couldn't have been more cheerful and helpful b We would stay here again. We just hope that the corporate office would give them some help by taking care of the motel. read more

Hotel was clean, quiet(even with coonhunters coming in from late night hunts). Grounds were typical needing a clean up after winter but lots of places to walk dogs. Showers--could hear other rooms, need updating on plumbing as they didn't turn all the way on and lots of gaskets screaming at some point. Nice friendly front desk and breakfast was good. read more

I had the worst experience in two of these hotels first one in Plymouth In. Then after calling this one and they assured me they were an very clean hotel, upon my arrival I notice yellow liquid in bath tub then saw there was garbage left from previous guest.Unexcepable.Then the manager here so was rude to me and my daughter and told me I she would make sure I never stayed at a super 8 again.oh no! Room ok, We got room with jazuzzi tub, but it was dirty, caulk job half done so mold under soap dish and around tub. Jets look like never cleaned. Did not even want to use it. Smoke free rooms but people smoke right in front of door, including employee . So had to walk thru it when came through door . Breakfast area small, and not great. Wanted something to do at night to bide time, thought about a movie but NO movie theater ! read more
