I had the fakest experience here. I checked in early on 9/4. There was only one room cleaned at that time; room 116. Upon entering the room, I noticed a hole in the wall. Like someone opened the door to hard and it left a hole indent of the doorknob. Immediately, I bring this to the front desk and housekeeper's attention. They say, "we're not sure where the hole came from; maybe the previous guests!" The next day I check out and they tell me it was a pleasure. Today, I wake up to a charge of $150 on my credit card from this establishment. I call to complain and they tell me that I left a hole and smoked in the room which is why I had an additional charge. They had already gave me a receipt of zero dollar remaining balance. The fact that we discussed the hole in grave detail and they felt the need to charge whoever for this and made me the person responsible is absurd. I have refuted this transaction on my credit card. Lastly, I'd never smoke in a Utah hotel because if I did the other guests would complain. Smells like lack of accountability, discrimination and unprofessionalism from this family hotel. OK, this is a discount hotel. So I'm not expecting anything amazing. So let me get the negatives out of the way first: Whenever my neighbor next door used his water, I could hear it clearly. Which could have been bad if that neighbor used water at night when I was trying to get to sleep. But he didn't, so it worked out. Here are the positives: - Cheapest hotel in town. - Free Wi-Fi - Coffee in the room - Microwave in the room - Fridge in the room - Shampoo in the room (Those last 5 were absent the last time I stayed at the other big, low-budget national chain.) The pool was very nice. I don't know how people can complain about this pool. I had no problem at all with it. For what I paid ($49 a night), this is the best deal I've found not only in Vernal, but in the Western United States. read more

This hotel looked a little ragged from the outside. The rooms were a good size but the beds were hard as a rock and the rooms smelled weird. The poor front check in lady was trying to do it all on her own. I'm slowly learning that Wyndham buying out Super 8 didn't do anything to make them any better. read more

Overall this place is about what you'd expect. The continental breakfast is not the best. Beds were stiff and left me sore. My biggest complaint was that the clerks at the front desk at night lacked the proper level of customer service. If you have someone in charge of the front desk make sure they are fluent in english. The lady in charge at night wasnt, and she was more interested in pretending she couldnt understand me than actually making any attempt to answer my questions or resolve my concerns. We booked two rooms for two nights - one for us, one for the parental units. The rooms were about $30/night less than they were last year, probably due to the slow-down in the gas & oil business in the area. We're not too picky when it comes to rooms as long as they're clean, quiet and we're left alone. The first room we went in seemed nice enough, until my husband tried to turn off the water dripping in the sink. That's when he found that the water to the faucet had been completely turned off below the sink because the faucet was broken. Why fix something if you can just turn off the water supply?! Needless to say, we requested a new room. The room we gave our parents seemed fine, other than the opened soda that had been left in the fridge and obviously not found by the cleaning staff. The new room we got for ourselves was fine, except the the faucet on the sink was extremely loose, but rather than bother with switching rooms again or hoping for a maintenance person, my handy hubby hand tightened it and we dealt with it. Everything else seemed fine . . . until we left the next morning for a while and put out the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door. It's been my experience in the past, and everyone's that I've talked to, that means the staff won't enter your room unless it's an emergency. They don't need to clean, make the beds, anything, just leave it the *bleep* alone. Apparently that's not the case with this hotel. They came in, made the bed, changed the settings on the HVAC unit and god knows what else. When I pointed this out to the front desk clerk, I was told that if I didn't want anyone to enter the room, we were supposed to tell them at the front desk. Putting out the DND sign just means they'll knock before entering your room. WTF!!!? read more

This, like most other Super 8s, is where you pick when you're looking at strictly an overnight stay. So, you get clean rooms, generally, clean bedding (never had an exception to this), reasonably competent and friendly staff, pretty much a throwaway Continental breakfast (this may be the weakest offering I've seen in a chain hotel - not only did I not have anything from it, the only thing anyone took was a bowl of Frosted Flakes that my son wanted) and a heating/cooling unit that will take you some time to come to terms with, if you ever do. I didn't on this particular stay, but the room was overall fairly comfortable temperature-wise. The chairs downstairs were stained and filthy, the pool sketchy, the lone ice machine downstairs inexplicably next to a Coke machine (for those who want it extra, extra cold, I guess), light switch on the outside of the bathroom, which was the one area that offered the majority of issues (slight mold smell, door too big for rest of room, sink on the outside of bathroom, hair in tub drain and otherwise very slow drain) and capped off by somewhat slow WIFI and one of the smallest flatscreen tvs I've ever seen in a hotel room. It did also have a microwave and refrigerator, though, the latter of which I was very happy to see. This particular one was also overpriced for what it was, but I booked it very last minute, so I'm not holding that against them. This was mostly exactly what I expected and it served its purpose up to expectations. We stayed at Supper 8 in Vernal Utah #super8. It was quite the experience to say the least. I was asked to write a review! I love writing reviews on my stays. I understand it's Supper 8 in Vernal Utah but still,,,, standers should apply. I ripped the hotel, management and corporate on this one. I'm posting pictures to show you how awful the Maintenance and staff are at this location. At first as we walked in the lobby and pool area looked clean and well maintained. The desk clerk was no where to be found. I note taped to the front desk instructed me to find the phone and call a number for assistance. My Doughter had checked in earlier so we where not to far behind. She hadn't mentioned anything to me about the room's yet. She's 18 and this is her first road trip. We found the manager and received our room key my girlfriend and myself. We don't expect this. Mind you I took these pictures moments after we entered the room. My Doughter's room had a bad smell, the toilet had been used not flushed and the room was dirty as she described it. I didn't get any pictures of it since she had already been there for a few hours. I talked to the manager and was reassured the rooms had been cleaned. The bed was made and one of the garbage cans had be cleaned out. I'm guessing that's cleaned? read more

Where do start? Our shower head sprayed water EVERYWHERE, leaving the floor completely drenched. Our bed was as hard as a rock, I woke up the next morning completely sore. My neck and back are still hurting. The "hot" tub was nothing more than warm bathtub. Our AC in our room didn't work. I would not recommend this mediocre place, I would recommend spending a little more money to go somewhere nicer. read more

I booked one room with two beds months in advance for a trip to Vernal. When we arrived late at night, after driving 12 hours, I was told that it was booked as a single room. After showing the front desk guy my confirmation email that said "double room" I was told that it meant that the bed was bigger than the average room. I was told I had to pay more for the room I had booked because of this "booking error," and that he would be losing money because of this "great deal" he was giving me. He then proceeded to tell me that he was the only one that would give me a good deal on the room and claimed "I would be back, because I wouldn't find anything else." He was very rude and was not customer friendly what-so-ever. His rudeness and cockiness made me not want to give this hotel my money or ever do business with them. Jay Chaudhari has run this Super 8 well for a long time, taking care of us over our stays on our business trips. Though it isn't fancy, the room is clean & maintenance is performed as requested, Jay, in particular, has paid us special attention. I always call the hotel, directly, in advance to verify hotel reservations--before the cancellation hour on the day of arrival. I confirm with them the accommodations we wanted plus any extra requests. Telling the hotel, on the phone, directly makes certain accommodations are met. read more

I gave 3 but really it's 2.5. We stayed for two night to take the kids to all the dinosaur museums & the quarry just out side of town. The room was clean and really all we needed, but the staff was not very friendly & not attentive at all. They have a small pool & hot tube (but are very stingy with the towels) free continental breakfast & we did find a good rate online. That being said if I ever go back to Vernal I'll pay the extra $20-$30 a night for a better hotel. read more

Only gave one star because I couldn't give zero. Absolutely DO NOT stay here. We stayed over Memorial Day weekend and came home with lice. Every member of my family has lice now. This place should be closed and fumigated. It's disgusting. read more

We had a reservation, when we arrived there were no rooms available upon arrival. They provided no real option of where we could stay, they did try to call around to a few other hotels but no one had a vacancy. We were told by another hotel that they had heard this Super 8 double books their reservations. The night we were to stay the hotel applied a charge to our credit card. It took several days to completely resolve the issue of the charge, which was finally resolved but with no apology or any other accommodation. The hotel manager was rude, I would not recommend booking at this hotel. read more

Stayed here for a couple nights. Room was clean and cute. Swimming pool was wonderful and clean. The breakfast was great especially for picky kids. The manager was really great. He was extremely friendly and helpful. Inexpensive room. My only compliant was the smell in the halls from the smoking rooms. But what can you do if it's a smoking hotel. read more
