We made our reservations at the last moment so our options were limited. Our only requirements were that the room was cheap, the bedsheets were clean, the surroundings were quiet and the Wifi was functional. This motel met those minimum standards. Do NOT go here if you want anymore than a place to lay your head for the night. There are absolutely no frills or amenities at this hotel, but it was sufficient for what we needed.

Quite outstanding!…read more We stayed in a very roomy apartment with a living room-like TV nook, a sofa and an upholstered chair, a mini kitchen with a work desk (BTW the free Wifi was EXCELLENT), a roomy bathroom, and a super comfy bed. The grounds are very pretty with lots of trees and grass and flowers. I saw a tennis court, a basketball court outside and a good sized indoor pool with a big patio where a family was cooking on the provided grill. Breakfast is included with your room rate, and the breakfast area is quite big with two decent sized seating areas and a TV showing the morning news about Hurricane Harvey. Breakfast was very good, with lots of healthy choices like fruit and yogurt and cereal plus the usual hot dishes like scrambled eggs, sausage, a waffle machine, and something I never saw before- mock sausage called veggie scrambles. I tried some and it was good !! Add in coffee, juice, breads and bagels and pastries, and you end up with a very nice included breakfast. Two final notes: 1) The breakfast mini chocolate croissants were so good they deserve to be classified as a controlled substance. 2) Be careful entering your room. The door threshold is raised up maybe six inches from the deck. Our door stuck, so we had to give it a shoulder to open it. When it opened, our momentum carried us forward and we tripped on that missed step going up, causing a spectacular tumbling entrance into the room.

My experience at Residence Inn in Providence - Warwick was just okay…read more Check in and out were easy and quick. The receptionist had everything prepared for my arrival. However, he did not mention how to get to my room, which was kind of troubling in the evening. So I had to go back to the front and ask for the Residence Inn layout. My room was okay but tidy. Things are a bit worn, so most of the rooms are going through some kind of remodeling. One of the days here, I got a knock on the door with news that my door was going to be painted. Most of the equipment for the kitchen is located beneath the oven, and the other equipment you can think of will be located somewhere in the kitchen. Initially, I thought there wasn't any and was about to visit Stop N' Go to pick some utensils up! In addition, I ran into some TV problems but was fixed after my friend informed me that the solution might be the remote control box. The box was faced in a different direction, and the remote control was not sending signals to the box because it has a limited range for signaling. The receptionist informed with a personal WIFI login and password, but I never used it. I simply logged into the free WIFI the Residence Inn provides. No complaints. Free Residence Inn transportation if within 2 miles. Just be sure and call ahead to make sure the drive is doable, for it is first come, first serve. Complimentary Breakfast 0630-0930 Weekdays and 0700-1000 Weekends. Light bites and drinks at the social mix served Monday's through Wednesday's. **Tuesday's: Off the grill items **Wednesday's: Desserts or Food trucks Overall, I like the full kitchen with the oven and stove. Staff members were pleasant. This location is not up to par with other Marriott and Residence Inn's I have stayed at. This Residence Inn would be decent for a few days stay.

The only thing it had going for it was, it was the only bathroom out of the three that the floor tiles weren't all broken. The lovely room that we had to settle on, because it was 11 o'clock at night, may have been worse than the first two. It came with not one, but two mouse traps. The floors were filthy and disgusting clearly again not vacuumed. The floors were so bad. I had to wash my feet in the morning before I put my socks on. You could visibly see the dirt discolor the water in the bathtub when I did so. The surfaces had not been fully wiped. There were foot-long black hairs all over the bathroom floor clearly not mine since I have a very short haircut. I'll have to come back to finish this

Water builds up in the tub and doesn't drain properly. You lose water pressure if the shower is over 5 minutes. Toilet doesn't flush very well. Handicap bar cover wasn't attached properly. Solid breakfast in the morning. Very nice front desk. Overall lobby and eating area was well taken care of. Price was expensive because it was memorial day weekend. Kind of to be expected though.

Internet was strong and we loved the smart TV's and the ability to watch our Netflix. The gym is perfect and has newer cardio equipment. Hotel is quiet which was nice! The breakfast in the am was pretty good and had eggs + sausage etc. The only negative thing I can say is that pool was so cloudy and poorly maintained that you could not see the bottom of it- and just so you know- when a pool smells strongly of chlorine it's actually chloramines which are created when the ammonia in urine reacts with chlorine....let's just say you can smell the pool from a mile away. Take my advice and stay dry.

Now your probably thinking $80 that's not really cheap but compared to the rest of the hotels in Providence and a city no less, well this place really doesn't compare, at all. When I say cheap I don't just mean in terms of price, but in quality as well, you know the term "You get what you pay for?" Well here you get that and maybe a lot less, If your looking for high class, room service, house keeping, little fridge, mints on your pillow type deal, Sportsmans isn't for you. However if your looking for grundgy, bohemian, New York, broken window, fire escape, brick wall is my window view type experience this may be your spot. First thing when you walk in the door is a door for the bar/strip club, I guess that doesn't say much as for as quality and class an all in one hotel/night club. I've been here on quite a few occasions and each room I've had I've noticed similar things. Its dirty. A lot of hotels try to make it seem like brand new, like no one has been there. Not this one. There is always some sort of evidence that the room has been used recently, whether its ashes in the cardboard ash tray or cigarette holes in the sheets. Someone has been there. The tv if you choose to get a room with one is basic cable. So no mtv, no vh1, no tbs, no bet. If your lucky you will get 6, 8, 9, 10, 12 and cool tv (the aci channel) Bed bugs. I've been here 4 times. Got bed bugs once. A lot of them. So you or may not get lucky its a luck of the draw I guess. The shower is tiny. One person only room. If you have a large frame there might be a struggle. The water takes forever to heat up and when it does be careful it might scald you. BYOT - BRING YOUR OWN TOILETRIES These people give you 5 things in the entire room that you can take home if you so choose Complimentary cardboard ash tray Toilet paper Styrofoam cup Tiny sliver of no name brand soap 1 towel This is not the place to come if your dreary or depressed the rooms will not help you, the light is an overhead which is often dimly lit, if your lucky you'll get a room with a window that's not broken, that you can actually see out of and will let light in. In closing, if your low on cash, looking to save money but trying to find a cheap place to stay in the city to rest your head but willing to sacrifice the comforts and normally accomodating features that many of the other hotels in providence have to offer Sportsmans may be just the place for you.
