Checking in was super easy. I did it through the app and it was easy to come to the desk and pick…read moreup my keys. The only issue I had was that I requested a late check-out and the person working the counter really gave me a hard time about it. I understand that late check-outs aren't guaranteed, but her attitude about it was really off. She kept insisting that I need to speak with her manager to approve it, but she never offered to get the manager. I just gave up and decided to speak with someone else the next day. When I came by the next day, the person working let us have the 2pm check-out and the manager did happen to walk by and said it was not an issue at all. And it turns out the girl from the night before did mark me as a 1pm check-out. Honestly, though, this was still an issue because housekeeping came at 1pm to clean the room... The room itself was a room. Clean and standard to Hampton Inn. The bathroom was good, with a nice shower stall and good water pressure but a low flow toilet. My room was in a separate part of the building with only like 6 rooms on the floor. This was nice when it came to hotel noise. However, the windows are very thin and the complaints about car drag racing all night are not incorrect. The location of this hotel was fantastic, an easy walk to many of the sights in the area. One day we decided to take the shuttle and that was fabulous. This hotel is worth staying at for the shuttle alone.

Let's start with the good: Free breakfast was nothing…read morespecial but sufficient. Hot breakfast included eggs and sausage. There were cereals and breads and fruit. Coffee, teas, juices. I like staying at these places because breakfast is usually not a big deal for me. The FREE SHUTTLE goes within 2 miles of the hotel. I stayed here two different times and I probably caught the shuttle 6 different times. Jenn is the absolute best shuttle driver, super knowledgeable about the entire town, and remembered me when I came back the second time. I don't like taking Ubers by myself so having the shuttle was the best - the shuttle picked me up from the Amtrak station before I even checked in! Then it took me to the mall while I waited for my room to be ready. Location: super convenient to eateries, and just across the river from Brown, RISD, Thayer St, and walkable to the waterfront. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. THE BAD: Both times I stayed, my room faced the street and at night people race cars on those streets! The street noise is REALLY LOUD.

I must say we had a beautiful stay. I got married and this was my hotel of choice. I stayed two…read moreseparate nights once with my family and then once with my husband, back to back days. So this will help the review. The Thursday night we stayed was my mother and I, she got a junior suite. It had 2 king size beds, a beautiful living room area with a lot of seating and tv, a huge walk in closet and beautiful decor all around. This was a perfect set up for all the girls to get ready for the wedding the next day, it was spacious and made for beautiful pictures. Some areas do need a little cleaning up, and some decor needed a little tweaking but overall the room was magical. We stayed on the 10th floor and overlooked the city, it was a beautiful view. An issue that I ran into was the doors slam HARD. You'll get used to it but it sounds so loud you can hear everyone leaving their rooms if they don't slowly close the door themselves. Also the toilets when you sit they move, kind of feels like they're broken even though they aren't so be mindful of that. And then being that high up be mindful it takes about 5-10 minutes for the shower water to warm up. It does get extremely hot after that waiting period but if you didn't know you'd think there's no hot water. The check in process both times was pretty smooth. When my husband and I checked in for our stay, the lady who checked us in was pushy and kind of rude. I didn't like her very much, an older taller woman. All the younger people were sweet as pie and very helpful. We stayed In a one bed and this was excessively smaller to what I had the night before of course but we worked with it. I think for the price point for this room it didn't match. Yet again we needed the hotel for pictures and the ambience, and it did its job being able to take pictures in the lobby, the grand staircase the balcony area all of those were worth it. But I would never get that room again , it's not worth it. The decor is beautiful don't get me wrong but we had too much stuff from the wedding that room became extremely tight- fast. The elevators are very small, and creepy. But they did their job. The security personnel were great. They did their job, were great to talk to, and very kind. They even helped us navigate places- when we had questions. They became like our friends because we used them a lot since so many of us were in and out to prep for my wedding adventures. All and all I had a great time.

Although the sheets were worn with holes in them, I was willing to overlook it because of the room size, view, and bathroom size. The second room on the east wing was smaller in space and size. The chair was in front of the mirror which was oddly placed. It was not as clean either with hair in the bathroom and towels upon arrival. Still, it was a good night's sleep. Just nothing to write home about. Great location though. You're right next to the mall and cvs and right across the street is the bus center and 2 blocks from train station. Front desk is super friendly. I'd give it a 3.5 star honestly.

The room had two beds; the other one was fine. Do not disturb signs are not provided. So house keeping is coming whether or not you like it, and if you happen to return to your room while house keeping is there, you will be politely asked to wait while they finish. That's not the fault of the cleaners, it's the company's responsibility to provided DND signs. The was a locked door connecting my room to someone else's, through which I could hear everything. Forget talking, I could hear every footstep, every furniture creek, which means those poor people could hear everything I did. The front desk called me on the hotel room landline while I was packing because they were confused by my scheduled late checkout, and needed me to tell them if I was leaving at 2 or 4. I had to press both ends of the phone cord into the receiver and the phone body, respectively, to hear anything that was said. When i finally managed to hold everything just right to permit a clear channel of communication, like some WWII radioman, I said I was in the middle of packing so I could check out at two, but if they were offering to let me stay til four, I'd gratefully take it. They said no. The conference chairs are medieval metal frames hidden under the illusion of padding. I skipped panels because my body hurt, as did others I spoke with. The attached bar is excellent.

I know on other sites I was a little skeptical to stay here because of the reviews of it being worn and tattered but they've done a revamp of the whole place (and still are) and what they've done so far is grand. The hostesses at the front counter were so warm and welcoming. The front area is spacious and perfect for talking with friends who visit. Great location not too far walking distance from DT and the train and bus station. Highly recommend.

Long detailed review. In summary, don't come here. Location great, sure. Service is the worst…read more There is no service. There is no accountability. Please just don't come. Go stay at the Residence Inn across the street! So many more parallel options. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. The sole admirable trait of this hotel is its location. If that means a lot to you, you have numerous other options in the downtown Providence area. Just do yourself a favor and go to the Mariott down the street. The room itself is fine. Nothing spectacular. Very average. It is after all, a Hilton Garden hotel. I am not expecting anything fancy. Where things start to fall apart is basic services. Firstly, we booked a single room with a king bed. The front desk said that they ran out of king beds so had to put us in a 2 double room. There was no notice. We are traveling with a 14 month old so we requested a crib. The main phone number was not working and I could tell customer service was going to be subpar here. To ensure I get the crib I called twice to confirm before arriving. I called once a month out and one more time about a week before. Upon arrival, front desk had no idea what I was talking about so had to inquire the custodial staff to assist. Eventually they did get us a crib. We got in later in the day and were tired so we just decided to not say anything. We checked in Thursday afternoon. On Friday, we requested a clean/room service early afternoon when we were leaving directly to the service staff who was finishing up the room across the hallway from us. Upon returning 3 hours later, nothing. No service. We requested once again for service Friday afternoon while being gone for 3-4 hours. Again, nothing. Yet alas, we tried again on Saturday morning. We left from about 9:30am to 1:30pm letting the front desk know we would be leaving and nothing. At this point, things were getting desperate. We had an event that night so we left at 3:30, letting the front desk know we had not been serviced in 2 nights so to please ensure they service our room. We arrived tired from our event at 8:30pm and to no one's surprise our room had nothing. Our baby needed to sleep at this point and we couldn't have full housekeeping come. So we requested the bedding and towels so we could just make the beds ourselves. That phone call was about 15 minutes ago. I am waiting for my bedding so I can make my bed right now at the hotel. I grew up broke as hell and I've never made my own bed at the roughest of motels next to the highways. If I knew what I was in for, I wish I had left to go to the Residence Inn across the street. Unless you are specifically tied to the Hilton properties (which really doesn't seem to matter we are a gold Hilton member), I would highly recommend considering a different location for your stay. I'm sure I'll get a response here, "oh we're so sorry for your experience." I've read that many times here. You know what, there is never accountability for any of the poor experiences guests have faced here. If you're the actual general manager of this property, please message me directly.

This hotel is lackluster at best and dated for the typical quality you'd expect from the Marriott brand, basically a Marriott disguised as a 3-star hotel. Other than the fancy lobby areas (which they upkeep to make you think it's high class) the room itself is musky, old and outdated. Vents were dusty, and I found a water bug in my room on arrival, but after a long day of flying and unpacking your bag, no one wants to move rooms. Parking is a steep charge $32 a night for not even covered parking which wraps around the building because several close spots are for preferred club members. Of course no complimentary breakfast is provided (expensive restaurant) but at least they had coffee in the morning. One nice thing was the shuttle service that will take you within a couple miles, and service/drinks at the bar was great.
