In fact, while I was in Tucson on June 12, 2026, I made a special trip to Villa's Market because of the reputation they have built over the years. The customer service was excellent, which makes this review even more disappointing to write. During that visit, I purchased several different cuts of beef, not just the diced taco meat shown in the photos. Unfortunately, every package we prepared raised the same concerns. Even after cooking the meat for well over 30 minutes, it never developed the normal appearance or texture we expect from fresh beef. Some pieces remained unusually red, and the pan was left with an excessive amount of strange white residue that looked nothing like the normal amount of fat released during cooking. What concerned us even more was the texture. Instead of feeling like cooked beef, the meat had a rubbery, almost plastic-like and gelatinous consistency. It was unlike anything my family and I have ever experienced. At that point, we no longer felt comfortable eating any of it. We made the decision to throw away every package of meat we had purchased because we simply did not trust its quality. More than the money we lost, what upset us most was wondering what would have happened if we had simply eaten it without questioning it. Food should give families peace of mind, not make them wonder whether it's safe to serve. Many local families--and even restaurants--depend on this market. That is why quality control should never be taken lightly. Selling meat that leaves customers questioning whether it is safe or of acceptable quality is, in my opinion, a complete lack of respect for the trust customers place in the business and for the hard-earned money they spend. Sadly, this experience has completely broken our trust. I will no longer shop or recommend Villa's Market

Even though they were metering people at the door they allowed you to grab 4 rolls and a package of paper. I think they have the best assortment of marinated meats at a reasonable price. They also have a lot of items you would expect to purchase in Mexico. Even though this is a small location it has almost everything you could want good want in a grocery store. Food, snacks, household items, and Mexican candles if you are going to setup a shrine. Be warned, if you are caught stealing and try to run your photo will be posted on the wall of shame by the front door. Honestly this is was probably my favorite part - seeing all the new faces weekly.

Today, I switched and tried Walmart. How drastic this has turned out. The first problem encountered, was that once the shopping started, I was notified that they were out of 4 of the 12 items I had ordered. Then, they said my order would be delivered within 45 minutes to 1 hour. They provided a tracking link which showed the driver to be 10 minutes away, and provided a telephone number to contact the driver if needed. 30 minutes later, I checked on the map and it said he was 1 minutes away away but showed him to be going in the wrong direction and on the wrong street. I advised him he was on the wrong street and what street I lived on. He hung up and would not answer his phone again. Twenty minutes later, I was advised that Walmart was cancelling my order and they would release my funds in 6 days, which is unacceptable. I could not find a phone number on their website to allow me to get it resolved. I will not use Walmart again.

We started with a sampling of oysters & simple sashimi (bothe were amazing) My daughter ordered the steak frites for her main and I tried the Waygu A5 which was so incredibly tender it melted in your mouth. I can't wait to come back. Great service as well. Only issue is please please fix your website.

We decided to try them again, on our anniversary, because our original visit here was so good. The new redesigned dining area is nice. But the food execution is pretty off. Again. We had sashimi which definitely had a very lingering fishy aftertaste. Pieces were unevenly cut and looked unappetizing. They served it with a sauce that resembled fish sauce. No ginger to clear the palette. The Wagyu burger was a big disappointment. This was amazing in the past, but they've added caramelized onions and mustard to it. You can't taste the Wagyu because the rest of the additions are overpowering. It now tastes like a Freddy's steak burger. Except it's $17. Banh Mi was off as well. Sandwich was over sauced with Mayo and Sriracha. Difficult to eat with such a large hard crusted piece of bread. Steak was good, but slices too thick for a sandwich. Meat wasn't trimmed correctly, so each bite had gristle and required a ton of chewing. The beef tallow fries and Vieux Carre were good. Service person was also disappointing. Unpleasant, no smile. Lacked energy and made us feel like we were a bother. I still tipped well, but felt like I shouldn't have.

Why they chose snowbird season to close it down to upgrade power is beyond me. Never saw anyone working on the sites however. Would be nice to get some communication for visitors. Most sites had big rvs. Many were here for a very long time and they have a policy that allows that. Active duty gets priority over waitlist but most long terms I saw were not active duty. Traffic nearby outside of base can also get noisy with loud vehicles. I did hear someone complain about noise inside the base, called security and they said they couldn't do anything w/o catching them in the act. Base security was never seen by me. Maintenace folks ride around in gold carts and were visible. Sites are close but pretty normal. Bathrooms, showers, laundry clean. Laundry prices raised due to expenses incurred by patrons washing dog blankets with lots of hair reportedly. Office staff were Ok. Recommend and would stay here again.
