I think that I'm pretty much done with this place. About a month ago, we swung by there on a Friday at 9:15pm. Keep in mind that they close at 10pm. Immediately, the person asked us if we were going to be able to finish our food by 9:30, as they close at 9:45. WTH? Who does that to a customer? They were fully staffed and had all of the food, so why would they close early despite advertising on their site that they're open until 10? We assured her that we would be able to finish our food by the time they close. Then, we had the pleasure of eating cold food, as every single item had been taken from the display and was put on ice so that they could close faster. It sucked, there was nothing good about the food at all. We even saw them turning away customers that showed up at 9:30. My favorite chicken in nova! They do their chicken and sauces right! their yuca is pretty good - could be crispier, but that's personal preference. The chicken is not as dehydratingly sodium-y as el pollo rico, and parking is flipping awesome compared to the 3-4 spots they have for EPR. SUPER is right! When they said super, they meant it! I'm not a huge fan of chicken because it so hard to make it moist and juicy but wow, the chicken here is juicy, well marinated, and the portions are huge! I mean, what more could you ask for? And with unlimited drinks? Sign me up! The restaurant is large enough to fit at least 60 people, and it is very kid friendly. I highly recommend the food here. What can I say we just love this place the chicken is flavorful dripping with smoky goodness. The rice is infused with cilantro and herbs galore -oh my goodness talk about salivating and I don't salivate for rice -I mean rice can just be boring old rice sometimes. I went on a Saturday around 11am and they were taking out a ton of orders for delivery , which made ordering slow and the chicken I got was on the undercooked side . The place is more modern, clean looking and organized than the usual peruvian chicken joints I'm used to. Went there for a late lunch/ early dinner ordered the quart chicken with 2 sides. the chicken tasted great and the Yuka and plantains especially were perfectly cooked which I appreciated. Great to have a Peruvian Chicken place in the area. We did lunch and found it to be busy bot not too crowded with a lively atmosphere. Ordering was a little confusing and stumped a few customers. It helps if you speak a little spanish but it's not a requirement. The Charcoal grilled chicken was perfect -- crispy outside and tender inside. The sides were average. The chicken is AWESOME. The prices are more than reasonable for the amount of food you purchase. There is more than a fair amount of sides to choose from, and the dipping sauces are great. I'm just reviewing the food since I ordered take out but in one word: delicious. I had to drive home with the widows cracked because the smells were so good I was too tempted to stop and eat. I ordered the half chicken with a double portion of their fried rice as my two sides; the green sauce is a must have if you're into spice. The chicken was so juicy yet the skin perfectly crisped and the rice was just excellent all of this made better considering the modest price. I used to think El Pollo Rico was the king but super chicken has taken the crown in my book. One note to the management and staff: please clean up a little- the food was outrageously delicious but the inside of Super Chicken definitely can use a bit of a cleaning. read more

Incredibly surprised by this strip mall Peruvian take-out place (you can eat-in but they always pack things to go). The rotisserie chicken is AMAZING. Easily the best seasoned chicken I've had in a while. The skin was crisp and flavorful. The meat was juicy to the point of constantly dripping juice on your plate and on the serving container. The sides are best if you stick to the more Peruvian options (the mashed potatoes really are just passable, but the garbanzos and the spinach and the onion salad were very good). I'm not docking a star for the sides because the superlative chicken more than makes up for them. They also give you some extra sauces to mix things up, even though they really aren't necessary. The ambiance on the fast-food level but you don't come here for a romantic dinner. You come here for great roast chicken. read more

For a place called super chicken, I thought the chicken was rather meh. I don't have a huge issue with the place, but I don't think I'll go back. I had a chicken caesar salad. The greens were a little wilted and the croutons were rather soggy . I wish they would have been separate - not mixed in with the salad and dressing. Oh how I love Super Chicken. The chicken is okay and so are the sides but the sauces are great. The yellow sauce is perfect for dipping chicken and the green sauce is great for mixing with black beans and rice. Yellow sauce is a mayo based sauce and the green sauce is a little spicy so BEWARE. The kicker for me is the free refill fountain drinks. SUPER CHICKEN YOU HAVE CRACKED THE PERUVIAN CHICKEN CODE. Why don't other peruvian places do this? I will always pick super chicken over any other peruvian style place just because of this. Sure other places have better sauces or maybe a little better chicken. Peruvian chicken is a very competitive commodity in the DC area. I have been to several places and read lots of reviews claiming that one or the other is the best. I would say this one is very good, but I would not necessarily say it is the absolute best I've had. The chicken was very good. Moist and nicely spiced. I got the plantains and a salad for sides. They do give you generous portions of the sides. it was not necessarily the cheapest I've had, but in the Tyson's area, it can be really hard to find a lunch for under $10 and this one did come under that. I eat here at least twice a month, and I will have to say it's my favorite Peruvian chicken joint I've been to. I do love Super Pollo in Arlington, but this place has topped it. Plenty of food if you get the chicken meal. I eat a lot and generally feel good after a quarter chicken white meat with two sides. Don't sleep on the plantains and pasta salad. If you are trying to keep it healthy, do sleep on both of those and get veggies, salad, brown rice or onion salad. So I visited here earlier today to get food for my Students of the Quarter Luncheon. It's a celebratory luncheon for 5 students that have excelled in the programs that are at the university I currently work at. We invite the students, the program directors, some professors, and of course my team is present. This is the first luncheon and the team decided to get Peruvian chicken as the main meal and of course some of there awesome sides. Let's just say everyone loved the chicken, I mean LOVE. I am currently embarking on a new lifestyle "Pescatarian" so no chicken was on my plate BUT that rice and black beans, pasta salad, and even fries dipped in the yellow sauce was good. Overall the students were very very happy and that is truly all that matters. Super Chicken, you got some more customers coming your way.
