I am so glad to see them open up a location on the west side so I no longer have to drive to the valley to shop here. This location is a bit smaller, but while stocked and very clean. You simply cannot beat the quality and freshness, not to mention price of their fresh fruit and vegetables! The deli meat and cheese are also wonderful and very well priced. The staff is very friendly and hard-working here. The parking lot does get full, but the lines at checkout and move quickly, and the savings are well worth it.

Bright & Roomy! Highly organized and the merchandising style is refreshing and easy to browse. Great aroma from the fresh produce as I ventured in for the first time! The one item I was looking for they didn't have: smoked turkey or hamhock, however they had so many other protein items one won't find at the local Pavilions! I will be back!

When it comes to ethnic supermarkets, non existed in Culver City. Until now. What a great addition to the Culver City community. If you're looking for exotic produce, and you're tired of the typical American name brand products, you won't regret grocery shopping here.

Huge store with a great selection. Came opening week and you can already tell this type of grocery store was needed on the west side. They also have an alcohol room making this a one stop shop for parties and get togethers. Wish they had more vegan options here but do appreciate the different types of sauces, spices and veg.

    Moldy absorbent pad.

The prices are reasonable, and I always find what I need whenever I shop here. The store can feel a little crowded at times, but that's only because they carry such a wide variety of products. If something isn't available, it's usually due to overseas supply delays, and the staff is always happy to let you know when it will be back in stock. The team is friendly, professional, and keeps the store clean and organized. Special thanks to the owner, Mujahid, who is a genuinely kind and hardworking person. Asia Foods has been serving both Muslim and non-Muslim communities for many years, and we're fortunate to have them in our neighborhood. The market is fully stocked with all shelves full...maybe over full, as I noticed many items were expired or past their recommended shelf life. Fruits and veggies were pretty fresh, though non-organic. Also, many varieties of spices and rare spicy. Great if you are looking for some hard to find spice for middle eastern, Mediterranean or Asian cuisines. I'm big on overall food freshness, so this is why I wouldn't necessarily recommend this place. If the packaged goods were expired on the shelf, not sure how many other products were aged. Can't tell age of spices, tea or anything else like that, so as Mich as I'd love to support small, local grocers...I just wouldn't come back:( Honestly, if they'd just clear their inventory of old things and keep it simple...they'd get customers like me, but I just can't trust a business that is so cheap, it will discount old things rather than get new ones.

Guess what they wanted as soon as they touched down? You got it! Sorrento's Italian Market here in Culver City! Now supposedly over the weekend they're going to make up for their surprise and lack of common courtesy by taking me to some nice restaurant apparently! I'll believe it when I see it. Settled on some hard salami and the sheer smell that emanates from the market. You've heard of or better yet even witnessed the smell that emanates from Pirates of the Caribbean? Well, Sorrento's market has its own unforgettable smell, and it usually winds up in a net gain of about 5 to 10 lb for your waistline. So other than some hard salami, I was sure to get the you know what out of here quickly! But do come by folks! Come from near and come from afar. My family just came from New Orleans (which happens to be the 1st city-yeah even before New York...that saw Sicilians specifically bring their great cuisine to this land) and the first thing they wanted was some hard salami from Sorrento's 2,000 miles away! Lol The spirit of Sorrento's market lives on through current owner Albert Vera Jr, who continues to do his father, mother, and the city of Culver City proud. It's not Culver City if there's not a Vera somewhere, somehow.

Bahay Natin (translates to Our House) is a Filipino market carrying most everything you might need. If you are Filipino or someone who likes cooking Filipino foods, this is the place to go. From basic Filipino pantry items, to fresh vegetables to frozen foods and locally made baked goods - they have you covered. Come and explore what they have. I was on a schedule today, so I hoped they had what I needed - luck has it, they did and more! Today's trip was the hunt for Jufran, Filipino ketchup made from bananas. There is a story behind how banana ketchup became a thing, but that's for another blog post! I also found some canned jack fruit and a box of Skyflakes (IYKYK). I met Jean and she and her aunt own the store. I'll definitely be back as it is much easier to get here than to drive all the way to Carson or Koreatown. Like others have said, parking is limited to right on Venice or on Hughes. Don't park on the lot next to the left of the store, that is tenant parking for the apartments. Just a quite note: you can barely see the sign for their store as it is mostly covered by a huge tree that blocks the sign when you are driving on Venice. Note for LA city works, please trim your trees! they are in between the Indian place and Mahalo flowers. Also if you come during business hours and the door is locked, ring the doorbell and she'll open the door for you! Thanks Jean, nice meeting you and Salamt po!

In the past few years Bahay Natin has had a big refresh under the ownership of Ate Ellen. Wow what a turn around the store made with its modern and clean look. I am so grateful that she took on this challenge to keep the only Filipino market in West LA alive. There's always plenty of inventory to have the taste of the Philippines at home. Because of Ate Ellen's personal history, she also has options for Vietnamese home cooking as well! I love how Ate Ellen collaborates with outside vendors to bring ready to eat foods in the store. Please come to Bahay Natin and support Ate Ellen and her staff. You truly will not regret it!
