Perfect spot for fresh produce as the selections are rich and prices are affordable. They look in pretty good quality as well. Other items also come in good variety but prices can vary. It isn't as huge as I thought, but decent size and probably preferable if going to huge supermarkets are too overwhelming. I went to Super King Markets after my friend hyped it up! I think items on sale are excellent value, as is their produce but exercise caution on other prices as they just seemed pretty standard to me. I did notice a couple of things others did - the security guard followed me and my friend around staring at us like another reviewer mentioned, and I didn't love that. Also, they scan items very fast which is great but then don't bag or tell you that you need to be bag so be prepared to get your things packed up fast! They should maybe say a line or ask on bagging during checkout. That aside, the produce was excellent quality. This may be the best quality produce & vegetables for the prices I've seen thus far in Los Angeles. The normal prices seem good on fresh items, but check their flyer to see the even more amazing sale items. I got a head of lettuce for 49 cents and grapes for $1.99! The meat was also a great deal, but after reading reviews I was scared of the chicken drumsticks! It was so much meat for under $4 so had to try it, and it seems to be fine! They are huge so I am curious about the chickens used and may not get it again, but if that is not important to you - it's a great deal. And who says eggs are expensive?! I got 40 AA Large Eggs for $3. Overall, I see myself coming back again for things on sale + their produce/veggies! I got a lot of great groceries for $30. read more

Everything in this new store comes off as a hit! Great prices, awesome looking product, super clean, and what looks like cheerful and pleasant staff. This will be a relatively short review, but I can say this much right off the bat... If this location remains as popular as it sure to be, getting a parking spot might be on par with a winning lottery ticket! And if you're disabled at all, it's slim pickings. Only two spots for the disabled, hence the reason for the four stars. As for the location itself, it first impressions mean anything, I'm pretty impressed! Super King is always clean, neat and so beautiful. I've been to the location in Claremont and love it there. This location is a little smaller, but still has a great layout, clean, organized and just a lovely ambiance inside. I needed to use the restroom and saw that they were open and went inside to take a look at everything. The employees were nice and working hard in the morning. They had lots of bread choices, the produce is neatly organized and at a decent price and the check out stands in the morning were not as busy. This place was vacant for a while so it's nice to see Super King has opened up and taken over. Definitely worth stopping in and grocery shopping at. It's a totally different experience than going to to a Vons or Ralph's. read more

I am so glad to see them open up a location on the west side so I no longer have to drive to the valley to shop here. This location is a bit smaller, but while stocked and very clean. You simply cannot beat the quality and freshness, not to mention price of their fresh fruit and vegetables! The deli meat and cheese are also wonderful and very well priced. The staff is very friendly and hard-working here. The parking lot does get full, but the lines at checkout and move quickly, and the savings are well worth it. read more

Dear Yelp, there should be a zero star rating. Because this place deserves one. Stopped in because it's next to my bank. Have needed a new frying pan so one for 12 or $13. Thought I had a lid that would fit it at home. Lid did not fit came back to see if they had a lid that would fir, they did not. Told her I needed to return it. That is when she informed me they had a THREE DAY RETURN POLICY. That is ridiculous. Costco has a 60 day return policy. I am only in the area once a week. They also have an alcohol room making this a one stop shop for parties and get togethers. Today was their soft opening (Monday April 27th)! This market offers fresh produce, deli counter with meats and cheeses, fresh fruits, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and so much more. They have so many variety of foods from around the world, from Mexico to Korea. I found that they have some good deals and some pricing that varies more expensive or comparable to other markets. Worth to be mindful, check and compare as you shop around. Staff were very friendly and attentive. For a first day soft opening, it was pretty busy and you can tell by the limited number of parking spots available. Check out was a breeze though. Parking can be a challenge. I think they painted the corner parking stalls too small, awkward to get out easily. read more

This market is spacious and clean and offers many international/ethnic food items which sets it apart from a typical grocery store. Prices seem higher on most items unless you buy something from the weekly ad. The bread section is interesting. They even sell the brown bread that is served at the Cheesecake Factory. I can see how parking can become an issue later in the day when the store becomes more crowded. Nevertheless, this market is worth checking out to see items you don't normally see. read more

We used to drive to Glendale one a month to enjoy Super King's enormous produce section, imported good from all over and wide range of intriguing breads. This location is smaller, but still has great fresh produce at good prices. They sell fresh herbs, like tarragon, and I don't feel robbed when I purchase it. They have a wider range of things we use than super markets, yogurts, produce, mediterranean foods. Large chain markets can be a bit depressing, staff seem unhappy, etc. Super King staff seem less downtrodden and the space is pleasant. read more

I won't bury the lede: where else can you get a full bag of groceries for $25-30? My last trips to Trader Joe's I've realized a bag of average groceries there is about $50. This is a fantastic market in every way EXCEPT the parking. It was a poorly designed lot when the Big Lots was in this space, and it's still bad. I usually park over by the Secret Pole Dance Studio instead. Minor inconvenience. They also don't have a great bakery. All of their items are packaged, not baked fresh on-site. Again, a minor thing as they do sell some unique and good quality baked goods. I love the variety of produce here, they carry some items you genuinely cannot find elsewhere nearby. Their prices are mindbending - I don't know how they can make money selling a bunch of cilantro at 25 cents, but I hope they are and keep the low prices! Their deli is a hidden treasure, they actually have some nice items. No wonder the line at the deli is always long. They carry the single best pizza brand on the market called Italpizza. It features simple, clean ingredients and has the best crust of any frozen pizza I've ever tasted. Only $4.99! Costco used to carry this brand and I haven't ever seen it elsewhere. We've adapted our weekly menus to feature the ingredients they sell. The bonus and kicker is that means we're now eating a pretty strict Mediterranean diet, that's great! So many good things to say about this place, it's the go-to for us weekly now! read more

I was genuinely excited to welcome Super King to Culver City. Having worked in Glendale for years, and having access to international markets. Unfortunately, a recent experience involving serious food safety issues and poor customer service has left me disappointed.​ I purchased some steaks from Super King, only to find mold on the absorbent pad underneath the meat when I opened the package at home. I drove back to report this health concern. Instead of taking accountability, the manager, Kevin, asked for my receipt and implied that I could have improperly stored the meat. He couldn't dispute the expiration date, as it was within the "best by" date.​ When I requested compensation for the inconvenience, Kevin claimed it was an "I said, you said" situation, which implied that the customer was suspect. While he did eventually offer an exchange, the interaction felt dismissive. To his credit, he appeared overwhelmed, as the store was very busy. ​Foodborne illness is a serious issue, and I've never seen moldy pads at the other supermarkets where I purchase steaks. I'm glad to have an international grocer nearby, but given the at least half-dozen other market options and farmers' markets within a 3-mile radius, I will only return for specialty items I can't find elsewhere. I hope this feedback helps improve the experience for everyone and that management takes customer service more seriously moving forward. read more

I really wanted to like this place. After seeing the sign go up, I was actively looking forward to going in and checking out what they got. I go to Sprouts a lot and was starting to get turned off by the cost. However, I can't see a good reason to go to this supermarket. They seem to just have this weird compromise between different food styles. Most egregiously, they have everything you need to make a pizza except for crusts. The bread section is mostly middle eastern style flat breads, but the rest of the store seems to be targeted more at Latin American or Italian style cooking. Just confusing and seems like whoever was in charge of stocking the store wasn't thinking about coherence. It's just weird and off putting. I would only go back if I needed to by a lot of meat or vegetables for a BBQ or something. Also, the checkout employees were not helping with bagging and didn't seem to be bothered with explaining we had to bag ourselves. We were still in the process of bagging when the checkout person started scanning the items for the next customer and piling them next to our stuff. Felt rushed and unwelcomed by that. Overall, weird vibes. Clean store though, so credit where it's due. Nice big aisles and a spacious layout. Good lighting inside as well. read more

The meat is disgusting. The chicken wings are the size of turkey wing. It had such a fowl taste that I threw it all away. I called my mother and she had the exact same experience. Today my son and I went to go into Super King. I felt followed and watched by the armed security guard. As we were purchasing our items the security guard came by the registered and staired is down. I questioned the cashier about Gatorade which was advertised for 3.99 my son went back to look but the price was changed to 6.99. The manager came and told us they were putting them out and did not change the price. She did not give me the price as marked and I told them everyone makes mistakes, no big deal. The whole time we were being stared down by RoboCop. My son said on the way out Mom this is how they act and we vowed not to go back. I observed as I walked out not one African American working, nor anyone other Mexicans and Hispanic. Just an observation and hope that they are being respectful to the community that they are serving. Personally, I been in SK but this one was high on allot products. Constant overcharging, horrible, non-accountable customer service response. I have been supporting SK since the CC opening. There are usually an item or two rung up in error. Today, the checkout clerk overcharged me for four of my ten items. When I went to the front end manager, she accused me of lying. When I took out the items, she told me she didn't know the prices running in the current SK, like it was my fault. Another employee got involved, and at no time did they offer to make it right. It wasn't about the refund; it was about wanting to continue to shop at SK without constantly getting overcharged. Seems that the two senior employees didn't care and never apologized for the error; the front desk manager said, "I didn't overcharge you; another SK employee overcharged you." I'll go back to shopping at TJ's and Whole Foods, who at least care that they charge you their posted prices and give some version of customer service. My advice is to check your SK receipts. read more

Super Kings are great. But this is a "west side" version. Much smaller, and the prices are not as great overall. E.g. compared to the meat department in Northridge is about three+ times larger. But a lot of items you'd mostly find in ethnic bodegas, so that great. And there are some good bargains. Very clean and airy. And a lot less crowded and crashing of carts. read more

I like this store. Some very good deals. But I avoid it due to the parking situation. Some of the biggest, most selfish assholes go to this store. They hold up traffic by blocking lanes. Turn on their flashers and just sit there waiting for a space to open. I've been trapped there several times due to this, unable to move and eventually finding a way out without even shopping. Security doesn't do shit but walk around. I prefer to pay more where I don't need to deal with this crap. read more

Shopping at the Cnew Culver City Super King was like finally going on a date with someone you've crushed on, only to find out that they are a terrible kisser. I live near Culver City and I drive up the 405 to Van Nuys monthly to shop at Super King. I've been looking forward to having a Super King nearby for a long time, and boy was this store a letdown. On. Every. Level. No more phenomenal variety in their produce department. No more low prices. No more awesome deli. No butcher shop!! In the Valley stores, their wonderful butcher shops carry a huge selection of the freshest, best meats that you can buy in the quantities that you want. The butchers wrap your order in butcher paper, not plastic. You can buy beautiful steaks, roasts, excellent fresh lean ground lamb or a shoulder, or any sort of cut of pork or beef, too. You can get lovely fresh salmon. Not in Culver City. Nope. Their deli, though nice is extremely limited compared to the Valley stores, too. I will stop by to shop if I'm in the neighborhood, but it's not worth the drive to Super King Lite. read more
