I was assured by a very slim, perky woman that I would be an ideal candidate and that she felt certain I would need just one "round" of treatment. After my treatment I was numb and my skin itched from being frozen. I was excited to see the change that was surely coming. I was told it could take months after the treatment to see the results. I waited, and waited but saw no change. I'm not very over weight. Normal BMI and maybe 20lbs to lose but was wanting to get rid of some abdominal fat. That definitely didn't happen. When I went back for a follow up I was told I'd benefit from another "round". (Ie. Another $6,000). What?! The first $6,000 treatment did nothing but I'm gonna shell out another $6K to see if that might help. I don't think so. They had a senior staff person come in to talk with me and though I could tell she was being careful about what she said, she admitted that I didn't get the results that were discussed and she acknowledged that the person who did the initial consultation was sometimes "overly optimistic" about what kind of results were likely to be achieved (that person no longer worked there). She said with the loose skin from my pregnancy, she wasn't surprised that the treatment wasn't successful. But wait, didn't your employee tell me I was not only a good candidate, but would only require one round of treatment, and didn't another employee just try to sell me another round? Eventually, I had a conversation with a manager who explained that they didn't guarantee results and the best they could do was offer me partial credit toward another service. I didn't want another service. I just wanted my abdominal fat reduced. The manager was adamant that they had held up their end of the bargain and there was nothing more to be done about it. I understand that they can't guarantee results but to have none after being excitedly assured by their professional staff that I was a great candidate and then to have the other employee try to convince me to pay a second time for the same treatment in hopes of getting better results sure didn't sit well with me. After multiple frustrating conversations and my promise to hire an attorney, they eventually agreed to refund 50% of the $6,000. Some may think I should be happy with that but I recently talked to several people who had similar experiences with Cool Sculpting and it got me thinking again about the women who are trying hard to look and feel better only to be disappointed. I got a tummy tuck last year and that's what I'd recommend to anyone on the fence. Cool Scultping may work for some but I found the results incredibly disappointing and I don't think for one minute that Advanced Skin and Body cared in the slightest as long as they got to keep my money. I may have gotten $3,000 back but they still kept the other $3,000 for absolutely nothing on my end. Just sharing in hopes of saving someone else from having a similar experience. Oh, also, it's always 50% Off which is just a scam. No way anyone pays $12K for that!

After a brief conversation with the nurse, I changed into my gown and then waited another 15 minutes before the doctor (Andrea Jones) came in. She didn't apologize for the delay--just said, "Hi, thanks for your patience, welcome back." After waiting roughly 40 minutes past my appointment time, I expected a bit more acknowledgment, but I let it go. This was an annual skin exam. Dr. Jones asked about a mole on my cheek that had been bothering me last year, so I explained that I had it removed by another dermatologist a few months after my last appointment with her. I told her the area didn't completely smooth out after being shaved off, but that I wasn't eager to go through another cutting-and-healing process unless there was a less invasive option, like laser. She confirmed there wasn't, and said punching it out might be the best option. Somewhere in the conversation, things seemed to get lost in translation. I said I was tired of dealing with it, and she took that as me agreeing to another procedure. She then told me it would cost $750 since it was cosmetic. I was confused because I never said I wanted a procedure done. After we cleared that up, she responded: "Oh, then why are we even talking about this? That is not an appropriate way to speak to a patient. We continued with the skin exam. She mentioned my scalp looked irritated, so I explained the recent issues I'd had (acne flare-ups, scalp psoriasis, etc.). She listened, but showed no empathy for the stress or frustration I'd been dealing with. Her only response was, "Well, we can do a patch test," which felt more like another upsell than genuine care. Overall, she showed zero concern, and it felt like she was eager to end the appointment once she realized I wasn't planning to spend extra money on treatments or tests. Basically a 50 minute appointment for 5 minutes of the actual "Doctor's time". I gave this place a second chance after my poor experience last year, hoping things would improve. She was also pretty hasty with application of product and I think some product got into my eye as my eyes were irritated afterwards. The massage was also pretty strong (so not as relaxing) and she used a device to apply product that felt like it had a sharp edge that had me tense the whole time that she'd nick something. I went with Allegra who was a darling from the minute I stepped into Dermaspace. Any worries or fears quickly drifted off given the dim lighting, chill music and zen ambiance. Allegra had a sweet personality, explained the entire process from start to finish, was knowledgeable about anything related to skincare and health, and most importantly, gentle. The facial was around an hour and fifteen minutes, including a discussion of my skin concerns, allergies, goals, etc. It consisted of roughly four total steps: 1) Gentle facial cleansing and exfoliation 2) Moisturization and detoxification using yucca soaked cloth within a volcanic heated cone 3) Deep cleaning of my entire face, clearing out any and all clogged pores 4) Ionization facial wrap of nourishing cotton with a leather mask connected to low voltage electrical current in order to ionize the solution. Afterwards, my face felt completely refreshed and as if years were taken off.
