Looking at the Yelp reviews, it seems like you'll either love your experience or hate it. Unfortunately, my experience was the latter. I went to Super Massage with my husband last weekend for a deep tissue massage. Upon entering the establishment, the owner greeted us, and she asked where the problem areas were: my upper back. When the masseuse entered, she confirmed that I wanted my back worked on. That was the highlight and the session went downhill from here. In the beginning, the masseuse placed so much pressure directly on my spine that I was fearful of my spine snapping in half. Then she applied pressure to the sides of my back with her elbow. Unfortunately, I think she slipped while she was applying pressure because I felt her elbow have a sudden jerk movement up my side, twice! These practices are not safe nor relaxing at all. She then spent majority of her time stroking my back before shifting her focus to my butt, where she did lots of kneading. I suppose the butt is on the backside of the body so... she worked on my back? Shrug. I would have preferred that her focus and skill be redirected to my upper back where I was actually having some issues. Rest of the session went on uneventfully, predominantly stroking, even though we booked a deep tissue massage. I asked my husband how his session was, and he was dissatisfied with his session as well. Being good patrons, we still paid and tipped as we did receive a "deep tissue" massage, and left with a smile. We could give the masseuse the benefit of the doubt, wondering if she was having an off day, but sometimes one chance is all you get to leave a lasting impression. Well I had to ask her to actually touch and massage me... I don't know what that's about... To give you some background I used to get massages every month from either Massage Envy, Glen Ivy, or Burke Williams. So I'm familiar with massages. I get them when I travel to other countries as well, so I have exposure to different cultures giving massages as well. The woman that massaged me laid a sheet over me and proceeded to just push my muscles through the sheet for 5-10 minutes (as if she was giving CPR) before I asked if she was going to actually use oil and lotion and touch me. She said "Oh, you want oil and lotion?" Then used it. I'm thinking.. were you not going to use that? Pushing isn't a massage. At the counter I let them know I'd like a Swedish massage with firm pressure, and during the massage I asked several times for firm pressure. I'm not sure if she didn't understand me or just doesn't like putting effort into massages, but I didn't get firm pressure. I was trying to relax but I couldn't help but feel cheated and given someone who wasn't trained to actually massage. The technique was that of a random woman rubbing someone who asked for a massage. No technique, no muscle stimulation, NO FIRM PRESSURE. At the end I asked her to spend the last 5 minutes focusing on a place where I'd originally asked her to focus on (which she didn't) where I was experiencing pain, and I asked her to go hard. She did! She has very strong hands! So why such a soft massage when I asked 3 times for firm pressure? What a missed opportunity. Lazy. The only reason I gave it 3 stars is the price, and my friend enjoyed his massage. So maybe I just got a dud of a worker. read more

Super Massage is a gem nestled in Tustin and my husband and I were lucky enough to find it several years ago! We have been long time customers and any chance we have to go, we choose Super Massage! I would prefer not to share that they are the BEST at what they do because I don't want a lot of people to start coming here making it impossible for us to not get an appointment anymore but Super Massage deserves it. They know what they are doing and it doesn't matter who your massage therapist is, they are all excellent and well-trained! Somehow they find exactly where all the spots are that need work on. I myself have two collapsed disc in my neck and the pain shoots from the left side of my body from my head through my back and left arm and even fingers. Sometimes the pain is so excruciating, I also get a lot of headaches and a stiff neck where I can't even turn my head to look left. Once I get a massage from Super Massage, I am feeling so relieved and relaxed and can manage to turn and look left and my muscles feel much looser. Don't spend hundreds of dollars going to Burke Williams. I used to be a member there, although they have the tranquil environment where you can spend a few hours in their jacuzzi and quiet room, you never know what massage therapist you're going to get and most of the time it's disappointing! Unless you see the same massage therapist that's always booked! Super Massage will work with you on your appointment time and their prices are reasonable. We always choose 90 minutes and my husband and I request the couples massage so we can be in the same room. Super Massage is very clean an carefully sanitized as well, spotless! Came here on a whim and it's definitely great value! The customer service at the front was perfect! Appreciate her accommodating me as i was running 10min late and was still given the full hour massage. Had a massage with cupping for $80. The lady massaged my legs while my back was getting cupped, which was great! Definitely recommend and will be coming back! Recommend making an appointment, though they do take walk-ins. Also bring your tips in cash as they charge extra with card. I would suggest tipping over 10%. or a minimum tip $10. The prices are cheap, but we shouldn't cheap out on the tip. I have had chronic neck and lower back pain for years. Thought it would get better but it hasn't. Finally decided to check out Super Massage Spa. Which is like 2 min from my office. Very skeptical because it had good reviews and not so good reviews. And I just didn't want to waste money on something that didn't help or possibly made my pain worse. Came in at 5pm. Was brought back to a quiet room by the front. Room was clean , sheets were fresh. I changed and waited Coco came in and asked me what I wanted done. I told her my pain areas and that it's my first time ( total chicken lol) I was hella nervous about cupping but she said it doesn't hurt. Coco was a tiny lady but she is hella strong. I told her I wanted hard pressure and she did exactly that. She got places I didn't even think hurt haha Hour long massage was heaven. The cupping was great too. It didn't hurt but there was one she put on the my right side that did hurt. Had to ask her to adjust it. And she did She was amazing and I'm so thankful I came in. I actually felt a big difference when I left. I will definitely be back to see her again. The only thing I will probably ask her next time, is a little more concentration on my neck. I was incredibly relaxed. I've been wanting to find a massage place nearby and came across this one, which is just about five minutes from me. There's plenty of parking and everyone was really nice. The ambiance and sounds were very calming. I asked for my masseuse to replace the oil with my personal lotion due to skin breakouts and she happily did that with no hesitation. We were bamboozled and convinced to get the 1hr massage instead of the 30min massage. I'm pretty tough and enjoy a good deep tissue massage. But this was insane! This was only digging into pressure points and it was not massaging out the tension in the muscles. Very little massaging happened. I honestly should have stopped it but because I was with my aunt and I wasn't sure if she was enjoying herself, I chose to suck it up. Turns out she was thinking the same thing. In the end we laughed at ourselves and at the horrible job we permitted on our bodies! When we paid we considered not tipping but we didn't want to be jerks so we left a tip and the front desk lady SCOFFED at the $10 tip! I threw in another $5 and walked out of there knowing I would never return. I should have read the bad reviews and took them serious! Reading the owners response she gets defensive and doesn't use the reviews as a learning tool. That's unfortunate. If you guys take a chance after reading this review, hold your breath and get ready for the straddle! And don't say I didn't warn you! Update: After the Owners comment posted.
