Just go, one of the best Peruvian chicken places. Wish they were closer to home . The plantains, black beans and white rice with 1/4 chicken (all white) are excellent and my staple. I've never ordered anything else because I love this dish so much. The staff are all very friendly, the place is in the smaller side and the parking can sometimes be a hassle but worth waiting for a spot to open up. Counter service only and portions are on the larger size. They do a heck of a business. Enjoy! read more

Honestly, if it wasn't for the hard/white-ish/undercooked yuca, I would have given this place a 5-star. I ordered the half chicken (dark meat) with rice and yuca, through DoorDash. From the minute the order was picked up and delivered to me, the process took 30 minutes. I don't think yuca becomes hardened to the point of being unchewable and ghastly in that short amount of time. The chicken and fire were fire. The sauces, medium spice, were on-point. This place is definitely satisfied me with their chicken and rice! But back to the yuca and the rating drop. The yuca was horrendous. 80-90% of the yuca's inside were hard. I chewed into the yucas and just felt like my soul was leaving my body. Take a look at the photos and you'll see that I did not exaggerate. I will go back for a second try. Review for delivery only. There are several Peruvian chicken places in the area and most are mediocre to pretty good. Super Pollo is probably the best I've had of all of them. I had to 1/4 chicken white meat and it was a lots of perfectly spiced chicken that was fully cooked without being dried out. It was so perfect on its own I didn't need to use any sauce. The plantains were just right, sweet without being too sweet and they were hot and fresh without being dried out. The rice was enjoyable as well, hot and fresh with a few vegetables for some extra flavor. They don't skimp on the food here and even though I was hungry after a day of yard work, I still barely finished my meal. Delivery was fast and my food came hot and fresh. Let me start by saying...I am an El Pollo Rico (EPR) faithful. But, a colleague told me that I should try Super Pollo (SP) because they had more side options. So, I did! Hands down, EPR wins with the chicken and sauces. The flavor is unmatched. However, my colleague was correct. SP has waaaay more side options. They even had my fave...chick peas. Everything was pretty tasty. I could see myself going back for a salad or veggie plate. I tried the chick peas, creamed spinach, and black beans/rice combo (extra $1). No complaints. The customer service was less than average. I actually greeted them. This spot is good for lunch with a friend or colleagues. There is plenty of seating and it appeared to be clean and well maintained. But, SP is probably best for grab-n-go when you don't feel like cooking for yourself or your family. I usually get a whole chicken with various sides--fried yuca, sweet plantains, black beans, and chickpeas are my favorites. I've tried some other dishes, but the chicken is what I always come back to. And don't forget the alfajores! I love that they sell mini versions, so I can enjoy a little bite-sized cookie treat. I'm used to way more options for sides at other Peruvian locations, for example cabbage, green beans, and other green veggies. I ordered the sautéed spinach and plantains. The chicken was delicious. Didn't want to order too much, so I got a 1/4 chicken with no sides. I was so hungry that I forgot to use the dipping sauces so I just dove right into the chicken. The skin of the chicken was well seasoned but the white meat was a bit dry. Whatever, I was hungry so I didn't really care. It was only $5.99 (pre-tax) so what an absolute steal! After I was about done, I realized I didn't even use the dipping sauces! Dipped my fork into both and wow they were tasty! So I tried to find parts of the chicken carcass that still had a small chunk of meat attached and used the dipping sauce. Definitely enhanced the taste for sure. Would highly recommend coming here for a late night meal. They do close at 10 PM so it's not a degen hour meal, but good enough. read more

Started coming to this location in 2012 when it was still newish. The chicken was always fresh, the seasoning is super tasty, and the sides are always good. Hadn't been back for over 5 years since moving out of Arlington, but had dinner there tonight and it was just as juicy and flavorful as ever! Their yuca fries are perfectly crunchy and starchy. The plantains are fried and sweet as expected. The black beans and rice are also very satisfying. Oh, AND it's a bunch of food for a fraction of the price of an average meal on the region--AMAZING! I think Super Pollo is better than El Pollo Rico. Their portions, prices, and variety in side options make the totality of the experience better. The portions were very impressive for the price and the chicken was tender and well-seasoned. For my sides, I ordered rice and roasted vegetables. The rice portion was huge and very good. The vegetables were just average. Some pieces were very fresh and warm while others had clearly been sitting out for a while. Nevertheless, the options regarding sides makes Super Pollo a better option than El Pollo Rico. Super Pollo and El Pollo Rico are very similar, but the lack of sides at EPR makes Super Pollo my undisputed Peruvian Chicken of choice! Super Pollo is excellent, better in several ways than the nearby and more heralded and more popular El Pollo Rico. The chicken is juicy, the sauces are excellent, the portions are great, the prices are excellent, and other than the Sardi's chain, it's probably my favourite place to get Rotisserie Chicken in the DMV. Both locations of Super Pollo have ok service (not always great), but both have phenomenal chicken with amazing green and yellow sauce. There is even an argument that it may be the best Rotisserie Chicken in the DC area. It's not a rip-off like some, and nobody forces you to get any rice or fries (cough El Pollo Rico cough). It's delicious, juicy and heavenly. Both locations (which are very close by each other) are phenomenal 5-star establishments. When you come to DC, you have to eat Peruvian Rotisserie Chicken. It's pretty much the regional dish because there are so many good places to eat it. And this is one of the very best. I have to admit I like Pollo Inka in Queens NYC even more, but DC certainly has NYC beaten for sheer volume and number and popularity of Peruvian spots, a lot of which are actually run and/or owned by Salvadorans. When you're in Arlington, make sure you stop by Super Pollo, get yourself a quarter chicken (or more if you're really hungry), get all the sauces, and knock yourself out. If you like chicken, Super Pollo is The Place for all of your chicken needs. The menu items at Super Pollo are truly VOLUPTUOUS, JUICY, and TENDER, and they come at a beautiful value. I hereby award Super Pollo 5 stars. Super Pollo receives a striking four (4) full stars for product quality: I said several sentences ago and I will proudly say it again--the chicken is VOLUPTUOUS, JUICY, and TENDER. It is also extremely FLAVORFUL and SUCCULENT, to the point where its many juices and spices blend together during mastication to form a supremely delicious mash that can then travel into the depths of your stomach and nourish your constitution. What could be better? The chicken is delicious and, as the primary product of Super Pollo, this is critical. I have yet to try the other meats, but soon shall. The sides are tasty--even the white rice (all too often a foodstuff butchered during preparation) is nicely seasoned. They also have choclo and an assortment of other Peruvian sides. This establishment receives a final one (1) star for the price-value ratio of its menu. For a low price, you can get an enormous portion of chicken. My HALF-CHICKEN was $11 and enough for two grown humans. I don't have a dog, but would recommend a whole chicken if you're sharing with a large dog as well. The HALF-CHICKEN is enough to share with a small dog or micropig and still be content. The aforementioned criteria support my five (5) star rating of Super Pollo.
