Terrible service! I waited over 15 min then the manger comes by and walks straight to another costumer and offers help. After speaking to her for 5 min, he then asks me if i need anything. I just shook my head. I waited another 5 minutes, but still no help. I've purchased 5 pair of sneakers from this store; I will never return. Why spend my money where its not appreciated. So if you know this store, you know they only have a few employees, that's fine. Usually, they are great with communicating. But today was different, just ignored me. We will leave it at that. The salesperson certainly tried to give me great service. He measured my feet with the scale and said science dictates that I wear something hard, which really hurt my feet. Every time he brought out one pair after another pair of sneakers, he pulled out the insoles and put new insoles to obviously to upsell me. These insoles always make their shoes feel worse. Unfortunately, everything that he brought out was absolutely wrong for my feet. When I went to find other sneakers that worked better for me, he said I would be happy to show them to you, but they're not gonna work ...except they did. He said, but this is science that dictates these supportive sneakers. I knew I need more cushion then firmness. Not so sure about the science! I ended up buying two pairs of sneakers that are just great, but I had to fight for what felt good and working for me as opposed to what he felt science dictates. Hmmm! read more

The appt. Seemed to be going well initially but quicky took a turn for the worst. The employee seemed more interested in telling me his life story and what races he was training for then asking how the shoes felt on my feet. Went in telling him I wanted the model of the shoes I currently had on and he pressured me into going half a size up. Also kept telling me to trust him and buy these extra insoles which were $45. Felt really pressured and made the purchase. Went home and wore them inside my appt and realized they were definitely not the right shoes for my feet! I took them back and was able to return them for a full refund. I won't be going back, plenty of other places in NYC to purchase running shoes. Please work with your customers and don't pressure them to purchase extra things they didn't ask for or seem interested in. read more

I came in to see what kind of running shoes I needed for my feet and Mya was super helpful. She took a scan of my feet and pointed out what kind of running shoe would best support my feet. I was blown away, I never analyzed my feet before or knew the importance of it. She brought out several shoes for me to try and was patient taking me through the process and understanding. I just ran with the pair I bought- game changer ! Also the price I paid for the shoe and insole was comparable to online prices. I never post reviews on Yelp but my experience here was so positive, I was compelled to. I enjoy running and compete occasionally in half marathons. Recently I haven't been able to run much because I've felt likes my shoes have not been supportive. The sales associate, Leteyesus who helped me find a pair of running shoes was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about running. She competed with her national running teams back home in Ethiopia and has also run several NYC marathons. She used volumental technology to understand my foot shape and knew I was experiencing knee pain while running just by looking at the shoes I was wearing because she could see that they didn't have enough support. She then spent time with me trying on 3 different types of shoes in 3 different sizes until we found a good fit and also helped me find an insole to provide arch support to my feet. I had a great experience at this store today thanks to Michael! The store is well organized and neat. Michael walked over and offered assistance as soon as I started browsing. He scanned my feet on the device in the shop and then presented a few options and sizes that would be good for me. He was extremely knowledgeable about the different brands and differences between individual models of the same brand. Despite having multiple customers in the store, he was very patient and answered all of my questions. I left with a pair of Brooks shoes that I love and I plan to send my family to Michael as well. my running shoes have gotten pretty messed up after a few years of use and this was the closest running store to me, so this was the first place I checked out to get a pair. I got in they managed to get someone to me even though the store was pretty busy. I had an idea of what I wanted to begin with, but they helped me try on a few different pairs to start off. Last time I bought running shoes from somewhere else I compromised for a slightly bigger show in a medium width instead of a wide so I started off getting slightly wrong sizes. So I hopped on the volumetric foot scanner and got sorted out with a more accurate shoe size. When running I have some inner pronation so I try to get shoes with support. Unfortunately they didn't have the Brooks Adrenaline in a wide for my foot size. But just in case they got a running insert from the scan earlier and put it in a near equivalent shoe that has less support and had me try it on and got me a different shoe from a different brand that also provides similar support. I prefer the stability to be more part of the show so I ended up ordering online instead unfortunately and the person helping me out gave me some recommendations and made sure to remind me of the shoe size we found out. I really appreciate the help and options they gave on top of the information even when they didn't have in stock what I needed at that point, the help and conversations sped up the process a lot and made me feel confident in buying my next pair of running shoes. read more

I was helped by Paul, who was so patient with me and SO knowledgeable. I did the foot scan with him and he explained to me what everything meant and helped me get a shoe that would work best for my needs. My son suffered from toe and ankle pain for about a year whenever he ran and his chiropractor reminded me to replace his shoes. Lo and behold he had been wearing allbirds the entire year that had absolutely no ankle support. So I took him to this store and Quilvio set him up with a great looking pair of running shoes! He spent a bit of time diagnosing my sons issues and he was spot on with what the chiropractor had said. I therefore also got a pair of orthotics which also worked out nicely. Convenient. Bought a pair of sneakers and when I arrived home I saw I was charged $40 more than other running shops nearby for the exact same shoes. I also have a "Commuter" charge on my receipt for $1.15 - not sure what the Commuter charge is all about. I try to support local businesses but won't be back to Super Runners Shop on 50th Street - not into being ripped off. I would return my shoes but it's only eligible for a store credit. Not the best experience but not terrible either. I had to wait quite a while to finally get a sales associate to assist me but she was very friendly and informative and the sneakers do seem to be more supportive than what I was wearing to jog so I am definitely happy with the product. I did do a quick google search to find that I paid 25% more than most online vendors. If you are in a pinch I would recommend and also it helps to do your research before coming into the store because they are definitely understaffed. read more

I have been in need of new running sneakers and inserts. I have taken my training seriously since the beginning of quarantine, starting with 1.5 miles runs and with consistent training I recently reached 10 miles. As my needs have changed, I wanted to try different brands to see if they would offer more support than the same type of Brooks I have worn since I started running. Last week I stopped by the midtown east store. Anthony was incredibly helpful and attentive. He listened to my needs and was able to provide three different sneakers that met them. He never rushed me or tried to upsell and was more concerned that I find the right the sneaker than making a sale. Ultimately, I decided to switch to Hoka (walking out of the store with the new sneakers on my feet). I 100% recommend this store and Anthony for their expertise. read more

If I could give this super runner shop LESS THAN ONE STAR I WOULD. I have gone there THREE TIMES. The first time only three people were in the store trying on shoes but the sign said Closed; reopen at 3. The salesman had no explanation for not allowing me to go in. I went back at 3:00 and they were closed. The next day even though the sign said they SHOULD be open they were closed. While I was trying them on I was telling him about my shin pain and he noticed my very low arches, he told me I would benefit from using arch supporting shoe inserts and my shin pain has improved ever since! I am recently recovering from Achilles tendonitis, and was in desperate need of comfortable running/walking shoes and insoles. I was greeted by Q, and I explained my situation. He was very knowledgeable and immediately checked my current sneaker and Insole. He explained because of my condition, I would need a sneaker with a higher heel to prevent less impact and damage on my Achilles as well as plantars foot. He scanned my foot, to determine how low or high my arch was and paired me with a shoe that I recently reviewed for hours the night before! I tried the sneaker on, which was Brooks Ghost 14, and immediately felt a difference, as compared to my Sketchers "Go Run" sneakers and my orthotics insole. Q also informed me of an insole with a much higher arch to support my foot, and compression socks that would focus on my plantars foot. I am 41 and my feet are going downhill due to a lot of wear and tear, wrong shoes and horseback riding! I hope now I'm on the right path to recovery. Better shoes, insoles and stretching!!
