They had like 6-7 pies to choose from, so I grabbed 3 to bring home. Da Grub: 1 slice each of Pep, Cheese, and Margherita, left them room temp from the case as we fire up the oven to 550 at home and toss the slices on a pizza steel for a quick 2 minutes... perfect crispy crust without drying out things. The Pep & Cheese ARE quintessential NYC style, just like neighborhood spots in Brookyln, Queens and the Bronx. I normally shy away from Margherita in this style slice (preferring more traditional Napolitano), especially when I see actual tomato slices on the pie... we were pleasantly surprised, they did this one well, very thinly sliced tomatoes along with fresh mozzarella and basil, pretty damn good. First off, I'll start by saying that I've visited Super Slice twice. The first time I visited, we ordered a pre-made slice that was incredibly delicious and hit all our NY-style pizza cravings (my girlfriend is from NY). The cheese was great, the crust was great! Going off of our first experience, we decided to go backs second time to buy a whole pizza. We also brought along another friend (also from NY) who was craving pizza. We ordered a medium pizza to take home and enjoy but unfortunately our second experience did not match our first. The crust was so much thicker than the individual slices at the restaurant. It was almost like Domino's pizza or Digiorno style pizza crust... our friend from NY was really disappointed. So perhaps it was our bad to have assumed that this was NY style pizza, but just wanted to call out that the pizza styles between the pre-made slices and the made-to-order pies are completely different. Your experience may vary, but just wanted to let you know you might be getting something different if you order a freshly made pizza (compared to what you see in the pizza window). Sadly, we thought this would be our go-to pizza spot for large parties, but due to the thick crust, we will be sticking to the individual slices going forward. read more

The lobby is a simple set up and had soda and ice cream available for grab and go, and there were some small salads stored up front. The pizza was ok, but it seemed that the dough was ready made and the cheese tasted processed. Did my children eat it? Absolutely! Would I go back? For something quick and easy for my family to eat - yes. If they had a few chairs and tables available, I could easily see a quick stop after a baseball game to grab a bite. I drove all the way there from Berkeley because I was craving good pizza and someone mentioned super slice pizza and it was disgusting to say the least there was barely any cheese on my pizza. We wanted a standard 2 topping pie. We typically get excited to try a new spot, however we were fooled by the Yelp pictures. We agreed for pizza for lunch so I looked for something relatively close to his second appointment and super slice pizza popped up. Totally a small gem on San Pablo ave what I have driven past on multiple occasions. There's a bunch of little places that may be interesting in this little strip what I have passed dozens of times. The place is not much. There are ready slices or you can order your own whole pie. The menu is not much clearly inflation has made them change there original pricing and with the fluctuations in food costs I am sure it's been hard them to land on a consistent price. There is no seating no soda fountain. Everything is grab and go I got a meat and veggie combo slice and my son got a pepperoni slice. My favorite is the garlic chicken but all were super tasty. The service was quick and easy to order over the phone and I added extra slices while I was there. Honestly I wanted to love this spot First time recommended on everybody's Richmond page. We went Saturday 12:30 seemed like an ok time but walking in 3 slices of pepperoni and two cheese in the window that's it. And they were waiting for more pizza to pull out. 25-30 minutes away. So we left came back next day. Figured let's give them a shot. I think ordering per slice is probably they way to go. We felt like first time, let's try a whole pizza we ordered half one way and half another way. I don't know if they felt rushed to get the pizza done for us. He did say 25 minutes we were totally fine waiting. Large pizza 37.00 seemed a little pricey for what we got. But I wanted to make this work. Support a new business and all. Got home, and one of my slices had literally no cheese no toppings unclear if maybe when it got sliced maybe the toppings got pulled off?. Combo side of the pie all veggies were still crunchy and raw. Olives no flavor, and pineapple interesting ,it was not sweet at all. A huge slice of "The Carnivore!" After sitting in traffic for about an hour, I built up quite the appetite. Two slices of Veggie and this last slice of The Carnivore. The gentleman at the cashier was welcoming, kind, pleasant, and cool dude! Nice NY style and evenly distributed toppings. Cheese was fine. For $8, the size of this thing is definitely leaning me towards quantity over quality. Everyone in the family was able to get a slice of the pizza they wanted, so there was no bickering over what to get (always a win with kids). We also tried their salads (Caesar and Caprese) and both were good, and the fried cheese sticks were among the best you can get in the area. But the star was the pizza. I'm a BIG fan of sliced pizza joints! I like the option of being able to come in and grab a slice on the go if I'm not in the mood for a full pizza. Also, the slices are HUGE! Big enough to where you can cut them and make 3 smaller slices, which is great if you have small children. Cheese and pepperoni will always be available and sometimes if your lucky the special of the day will be available. The two guys that work there are nice and fast. My favorite part is they will warm up the slice for you and then grade some parmesan cheese on the pizza slice right out the oven. Writing this review makes me want to go get a slice now! read more

Really good! Thin sliced neopolitan style in El Cerrito! The northernmost slice of the East Bay is fantastic, and you owe it to yourself to try it at least so that you can compare it to the great pizza that we have around here. And, if you live in El Cerrito or Richmond, now you have some serious quality at hand. Had a large margherita slice. I usually order two slices at a pizza place, but these were really large, like 1.5 slices. The toppings were fresh and flavorful. The sauce was comforting and good - do I detect San Marzano tomatoes? The dough was the star though. Clearly homemade, chewy and crispy, it really made for a perfect slice. They don't have any place to sit yet; this place is definitely for take out and delivery. I love supporting local new businesses! I heard of this place on next door and had to try it first hand. Kept it simple with a medium (14") cheese pizza. Pickup time they told me 25 minutes but I got there in about 7-8 minutes pretty early and it was out of the oven hot n ready in under 12 minutes total. The place was clean , looks like they remodeled, was well lit, and they were super friendly, made me feel welcome. Honestly even if the pizza sucked I would leave at least 3 stars on those things alone. You want to feel welcome and that the place cares about the cleanliness, I mean, duh, they are preparing the food we eat. As for the pizza, oh it was yummy. Dough was perfectly cooked, wasn't too much but wasn't soggy either. Sauce was very flavorful, tasted FRESH, and wasn't too garlicky. I devoured 3 slices in mere minutes and my 12 year old did the same . We're both picky on our pizza but did enjoy this. Next time I'd like to try their veggie option ... As for the prices, I checked dominoes and their large pizza is the same size as super slice's medium and is a dollar cheaper, but hey I'd rather support my local businesses than a corporation. Plus they are just getting started so perhaps they will offer coupon in the future . Either way I'm very glad I have found a bomb pizza place close to home that are very friendly. Got a medium with pepperoni a week ago and was so disappointed by the thickness of the pie. I had to wait to write a review because I knew it would have been harsher if I had left one right away. I was expecting thin crust based on the pictures, but the crust was SO thick, like chain pizza place thick. I really did not enjoy the pizza at all, my boyfriend absolutely hated it. The ingredients seemed like they were good quality. Was thinking this would be my new spot for take out pies based on all the raving reviews (there were about thirteen 5 star reviews on Google before they even had a Yelp page). The best thing about this new place (new because we just discovered it last month), is that it's truly New York style. Crispy thin crust. My mouth waters just from thinking about it. We got the carnivore, which was perfect. Can't wait until the next time we have a larger group to host/feed, I'd like to buy at least 3 different pizzas!
