Stopped in for a quick lunch. I'd passed the place many times but never stopped. The first thing I noticed was that the place was exceptionally clean. The girl at the counter greeted me immediately and was very friendly. The menu was extensive and reasonably priced. I wasn't very hungry and really liked the fact that they had 'mini' versions of their subs. So, I ordered the mini chicken cheesesteak. It was very good. Perfectly cooked and the lettuce and tomato were fresh. Overall, a very nice sub shop with very good food. I will surely stop in again. One note. It is strictly take out. Stopped in here on a nice Saturday afternoon for lunch. Ordered a Pizza Steak with Pepperoni and Fried Onions, an order of French fries, and a large coke. The sub was nice and big and absolutely filled with tender and juicy steak that left me wanting more. The onions were also solid and the pepperoni, sauce, and cheese were all tasty. The roll was nice and toasted and lacked hardly any grease. The way I like it. The French fries (for being a sub shop) were yummy and not soggy. My coke was nice and refreshing. It was a solid lunch and I was nice and full upon completing it. Also, to add, the food was done and ready in about 15 minutes. Love the effort! 5 stars. Great spot. read more

I received my delivery order via slice app and my food was terrible. The fries were wet, mushy and cool and my sub was cooked on the outside but inside was mushy too. It was undercooked. The subroll was so hard on the ends I couldn't bite into it. I threw the entire order in the trash. I wasted $24. Unacceptable. read more

I called in an order for their two 1/2 subs/two fries/2-liter deal, plus we added another whole sub. It wasn't a complex order. Both of the half subs were cheesesteaks, one with extra provolone cheese. One with extra provolone cheese, extra RAW onions, and extra mayonnaise. The whole sub was an Italian cold cut with everything but no hots, or mayonnaise, or oil or vinegar; and, I paid for packs of creamy Italian dressing. The one cheesesteak the meat was very dry, apparently. My sister said that it was horrible. The other cheesesteak, didn't have raw onions on it, it had fried onions on it, and was extremely greasy. There was also more onions on the sub than meat. There also was not extra cheese on the sub. In fact, half of the sub had no cheese at all. The Italian cold cut was swimming in oil and vinegar, which I had specifically asked to not have on there, and then was asked about and again said definitely no. The last time I had gotten one from there with oil and vinegar on it, it was so greasy you couldn't taste anything but grease, and it wound up thrown away, just like the one tonight. So basically my meal wound up thrown away, because I don't eat fried onions or oil and vinegar, and I wasn't going back to Essex to waste $48 more dollars. I used to tell people that I would go out of my way to get Super Subs. Not anymore. I wish I could give negative stars. read more

I ordered 20 honey bbq wings, they showed up cold and dry with no sauce. I called they offered to send 2 cups of sauce to put on the wings. A driver showed up with 1 cup of sauce. On our street, so out of convenience we go from time to time. Your safest bet is a sub or sandwich. My kids get the pizza burger every single time. I enjoy the regular cheeseburger. They used to be good but not anymore with the new staff. Food quality has degraded and prices have went up for so so food. We have been with you since you were at your last location and it is not the same. Steak ums for a cheese steak does not cut it anymore compared to other places that sell real meat for same price. The food is normally cold if you don't get it right as it comes out. If you call and complain they get mad and someone is always cocky in the background and yelling but never gets on the phone. We received the menu for this place on our door and decided to check it out. Now, usually a delivery place will only put it's menus in the delivery area, which unfortunately... isn't us. By the time we ordered though we were hungry so just went with it, though kind of lame when you were expecting a relaxing evening at home. Pizza wasn't bad at all, actually. Based on the reviews, we tried a cheeseburger sub too. It also wasn't bad at all, actually fairly juicy. The reason I'm giving 3 stars is because I was expecting delivery and they couldn't provide. It isn't good enough that I'm going to go out of my way to pick it up. If I'm going to drive to Essex, I might as well get Pizza John's which is better and just as far of a drive. read more

We placed an order for delivery few days ago actually never had super subs found the menu and saw that they delivered steam shrimp figured we try it out. Boyfriend still wanted a sub. So we ordered 2 sub special and 1/2 pound of steam shrimp. Delivery was fair, he asked for a grilled chicken sub and he got a chicken tender sandwich but he actually liked it. Asked for shrimp to be lightly seasoned but it was a little much but not too bad. Over All we would order from there again. The steam shrimp being delivered is the best part. This place is close to me so I order out from them about once a month. The interior is probably the cleanest of any carry out place I've been to, spotless. I've had a wide selection of their food and the cheesesteak is just so-so. Luckily trying different items I've discovered they have an excellent cheeseburger sub. I have been ordering from Super Subs on Mace Ave since we bought our house in 1996 (when they were in the original location). Today, was the worse experience i have ever had with this company. I placed my food order at 558pm; told 40-45 mins. at 7 pm i called to check on food, was told it was on the way. 715, no pizza! I called back to speak to mgr and was put on hold and never spoke to anyone. I open my pizzas and they are burned and ice cold! I call back to speak to mgr-i am told he or she is not there (straight out lie; driver told me they were) then told owner is out of country so i cant talk to anyone-i want my $ back they tell me no-then say we will refund in 2-3 business days and want the pizzas back!!! Lady i spoke to on the phone kept putting me on hold to speak to "someone" but wouldnt let me speak to a mgr! As her conversation; a manager will call me tomorrow about this incident LOL!!!! I have been a customer here about once a month for two years, but after the horrible food and customer service I experienced today I will never eat here again, and I will make it a point to throw away every single menu they litter my apartment building with and to tell as many people as possible about their terrible treatment of customers. Basically, I was not at all satisfied with the food I ordered (boneless chicken tenders) which were $6.99. I ate one bite of one tiny piece of chicken and then my friend finished the bite; both of us spit it out. I called and explained the situation, politely asking to replace my food this one time with something edible. They not only refused but HUNG UP ON ME and when I called back, told me that it was my fault for picking something off the menu I didn't like. I explained that I had ate it many times before and loved it, but it was overcooked this time with no chicken and my regular sauce (I seriously order this almost every time) was totally different and inedible. Again, they hung up on me. For the record, I spent $30 on this meal and tipped the driver $8. I couldn't believe that this one time, they not only refused to replace the food (which I had saved in the container and was all there minus one lousy piece) but were rude enough to hang up on me. Oh, and they told me to ask for the sauce on the side next time. Unfortunately for them there will not be a next time. My work orders lunch from there every week (about $80 worth) which we will never do again either. Too bad Sonic couldn't have decent customer service! read more

So first off we ordered through the door dash app as they dont have a direct online ordering website. So I ordered my food, it came in a timely manner, but when I opened up the sub I ordered it was entirely wrong. So I called Super Subs directly to ask for a correct remake of what I ordered. I was then put on hold for several minutes only to be told I have to call Door Dash. I then asked to speak to the manager, who was conviently not at the store, but was informed if I brought the entire sub back I could get a new one made. Ok, so me and my boyfriend drive up to Super Subs, walk in and spoke to the woman at the counter, told her that I was who she just spoke with. She said ok and that it was going to take a few minutes to make the new sub. Ok that's all well and fine what happened next was absolutely ludicrous. A man making a pizza behind the counter came up to the counter and started yelling at us about having to make another sub and that it's not their fault that Door Dash called it in wrong. And why should they lose a sub when it's Door dashes fault. So firstly, no matter who the third party ordering system is through the incorrect item came from Super Subs. If Door dash called the order in wrong it is not my, the customer, fault and Super Subs should take it up with Door Dash. But, in any event, this employee of Super Subs continued to scream and yell at us about this sub that I had spent money on. So at this point, we are irate and I demanded my money back. Well unfortunately the manager still was not on site but headed up there to attempt to difuse the now extremely proggessed situation. Once the manager arrived he spoke to both me and my boyfriend. He did give us the money for our sub but he also tried to reiterate that it wasn't the fault of Super Subs. As a consumer I do not care whose fault it was, I just wanted the situation rectified. Eventually it was but not before we were treated with utter disrespect by a representative of Super Subs. And when I asked the manager of the establishment what was going to be done about the absolutely ridiculous employee he had on staff, he couldn't tell me. Also, as a side note, the dirty looking man that was making the pizza and screaming at me had cuts on his hands that were being covered only by blue painters tape and was not wearing any gloves. I will never provide my hard earned money to this establishment again. read more

This is very difficult for me to write, but I have to. I usually LOVE the cheesesteak sub from Super Subs and Pizza. I tell my friends that they have the very best cheesesteak sub in this area. That is why tonight I am extremely disappointed. I had to check the phone number I dialed when I took the first bite of my sub. I thought I had called the wrong delivery place. The roll isn't toasted like it always has been. The meat has no taste / flavor. The cheese isn't even melted on there. It's not made with the toppings I asked for. I don't even want to go off my diet to eat this thing the delivered tonight. I've been craving this sub for days. I can't believe this was made by the people on Mace Avenue. I hope the next time I break down and call for a sub that I get the high-quality food I'm use to from SSP. If this is the new level of their food, I won't be calling again.
