Got the Carnitas tacos. Although it doesn't say it, these are the street taco size that uses the smaller tortilla but extra stuffs the meat and has just the chopped onion and cilantro on top. Each taco was $3.75 so really good price for the bay area. I grabbed all three salsas as well. The carnitas taco as a whole, eaten properly with a lime squeeze and the salsa was really good. I loved it. The salsa paired perfectly with the carnitas and was actually spicy like it should be. The tortillas also where actually heated through too. The carnitas alone. Good tasting, but not as moist as it should be. I suspect either A. After chopping they didnt mix a little of the juices or B. They didnt cook it long enough in the lard & beer, or C. They didn't use lard. I'm very happy though that they did the more common fat/oil cook method vs. The orange juice etc. method that IMO isnt as good tasting. Regardless it went so well with the salsa and the salsa was so fantastic they still get a bay area 5/5 and a San Diego/TJ/Mexicali 4/5. I ordered a plate of veggie tacos to go, and the experience was extremely disappointing. Every single slice of avocado was visibly rotten -- not just overripe, but clearly spoiled. Completely unacceptable, especially for how pricey these tacos are. I only discovered it once I got home, which made it even more frustrating. They have the most insane list of meats. Some of these I've only tried in Mexico. Others I have never seen. Their salsa bar is almost as impressive. There is a lot here setting it up for potential. But I found the tacos just alright. I wish there was more seasoning. I got the cecina, tripas, costilla, and another one I can't remember. They all kinda blended together at the end. I was in the the area and craving a taco and burrito, saw there was a bunch of people there, so decided to give it a try. I went with a pastor taco and a carne asada burrito, plus a canned coke. All of this was under $20 and was more food than I needed. The burrito was huge but was poorly wrapped, as the tortilla ripped, which made it for a messier experience but no biggie. I found the carne asada to be a bit overcooked. While there was a lot of it, it really needed more sour cream. My favorite was the pastor and it wasn't even close. I ate this first, and honestly I regretted not ordering more tacos instead of the burrito. The pastor had great flavor and I easily could've eaten five of these things. They have a salsa bar on the side of the truck which is self serve. Their green salsa is spicy, and hella good. Definitely one of the better green salsas I've had in a minute. I'm highly disappointed, I used to like this taco truck, but the quality has dropped significantly, now not even getting what I ordered for, and paying more for it. I know overall food costs have gone up but the price increase for the tacos does not justify also the decrease in quality, used to be around 2.75, now 3.25/3.50 Also, when I saw I didn't get what I asked, and asked the guy what is what, they couldn't tell me but instead went to look at what I ordered to guess what was on my plate. A clear sign that they gave me what they wanted and not what I ordered. I posted pictures of what I ordered and what was I didn't get, plus also pictures of what the meat actually looks like. Tried this truck on a Monday night, and I'm glad I did. The suadero taco was a decent taco, not the best, but certainly not disappointing. Reviews said that the meats other than al pastor were dry, and I would say I've had juicer suadero, but this wasn't bad. The torta was good, I like that they gave avocado. But it did fall apart really easily (nothing some chips couldn't handle). But it was about $18 for a torta, taco, and a coke. I'm not sure I'm down for that kind of value to be honest. The pork is juicy and flavored well without being overly salty and the tomatoes/onions provide a freshness that is very much needed for such a heavy dish. The flour tortilla is crispy on the outside and doesn't get too soggy even with the saucy meat, which is pretty impressive. The disappointing part of my experience here are the tacos. I probably should have gone with the Al Pastor which is the safer choice, but I decided to try other meat options - Pollo, Lengua, and Carne Asada. The meats were slightly dry and didn't have too much flavor either. Adding these on top of dry corn tortillas did not help. Try asking for extra sauce (something I wish I did). This used to be one of my favorite taco trucks- it was close to home and delicious (hence 2 stars) but sadly they have lost my business :( I am too sad about this- their meat is now undercooked (has a lot of undercooked fat so it is chewy and gross when you bite carne asada burrito) one of the most disappointing experiences ever. I was about to give 4 stars and then I realized I can't think of any places that are actually better, especially in the desert of good, cheap Mexican food that is Palo Alto through Santa Clara. Anyway, I came here because it's 4th of July and so naturally I wanted a burrito to celebrate America. After searching a bit for the menu (hint: it's on a sandwich board separate from the truck) I decided on lengua from their truly daunting list of meats. I was interested in the surtido, cabeza, cueritos, and other less-common meats too, but I wanted to eat fast so instead of trying a bunch of tacos I stuck with a single burrito. While waiting I also found their salsa bar, which is not extensive but is well done, with a tangy green salsa and a medium-spicy red salsa. If I had to be nitpicky I'd prefer slightly thinner red salsa so it could soak into the burrito more. But the fact that it's actually spicy (medium not like crazy) makes up for it. Overall, $8 for a tongue burrito that was well balanced, with uniformly well-heated ingredients and a great salsa bar is fantastic. They take credit cards too so there's nothing not to love. I live in East Side San Jose and they have amazing tacos. I had these since I was in the area and they suck, I'm sorry but they do. I asked for Tripa, doradita and they only grilled it from one side. I also asked for lengua y asada and yuck. Idk know what kind of meat I ate. The salsas tasted like they got it from Safeway and put in containers to serve it. I don't recommend it at all. read more

This truck has the best tacos in Mountain View. I'm sure it's not the only truck in the area but it's up here with the best. They have all the meats on their menu and have a decent variety of items to select from. A simple menu with all the basics. Tacos are $2 to $2.50 depending on the type of meat you choose. Burrito, veggie burrito, Tortas, ensalada de pollo/chicken salad, and quesadillas with handmade tortillas. I didn't try the quesadillas but I know from experience that handmade tortillas are the best! Being that it was my first time here I had to order pastor, cabeza, lengua, and tripa. The meats are well marinated with their signature flavor. Don't forget to ask for grilled onion heads. They go well with tacos. I didn't know they had onion heads. I only found out because a guy eating next to me had them on his plate. He said they go for $1 and you get around 4 or 5 onion heads. They have self serve topping area next to where you place your order. Red and green salsa are spicy! You've been warned! Mild to me, but super spicy to you. I know you can't handle it. Both my friends loaded their tacos with green salsa thinking it was an avocado mild salsa. Were they wrong lol Bugers running down their nose with watery eyes. I did what any good friend would do. I laughed at their pain and suffering. The truck has a table attached on the sides that goes around the truck where you can place your food and eat. The best area to enjoy your meal is right behind the truck because that's where the grill is located and is the warmest. You can warm up your hands by placing your hands against the truck. Easily my favorite place to get tacos so far in the South Bay/Peninsula, including that strip of gruellenses on Middlefield (the Little Michoacan area). I was shown this place by this Mexican guy I dated, and while we might not be dating any more, I am eternally grateful he showed me this place. Easily the best chorizo. I don't know how they do it without the chorizo oozing grease, like most other chorizos. The dude said that it means they must either make their own or get it from somewhere that does more artisanal chorizo. Whatever, I'm a huge fan. Also a huge fan of the champechango, which is a combination of several meats. Their pastor and asada were also tasty. Their salsas are amazing. They're some of my favorites, and some of the spiciest I've found in the bay area. I've only tried their tacos - haven't really tried the burritos so can't really comment on that. Probably the best lengua taco around the area for me. Obviously they are popular and there is always a line, but they are pretty quick. All kinds of unique meats you don't see at other places and price is still reasonable. You must try at least once. I hope they will have 2nd truck around Sunnyvale/Cupertino area. I usually am a regular of the Cheztacos truck, but stopped here on the recommendation of my son, who prefers Super Tacos El Conrro. I'm glad I took his advice! I've only had the carne asada and al pastor tacos here, and both were excellent ($2 each). I ordered 24 al pastor and 24 asada for a party of 12 and there were no leftovers. Both Cheztacos and El Conrro are excellent. You can't go wrong with either, but I perceive you get slightly more meat in the tacos at El Conrro, and I find them juicier and more flavorful. No no no. Where does this place get all its good reviews? I've been wanting to try this place for the longest time because of the great reviews and because - well - I love tacos! I'd hit up most of the taco trucks in MTV/SVL but somehow this one eluded me. So with one week left to go before moving to East Bay I thought I'd give it a shot. Let's just say I'm glad I had put it off for so long and I won't be missing anything. The Suadero was super fatty. Not the melt in your mouth delicious kind of fatty but the crunch crunch crunch gristly kind. Both the suadero and the asada were overcooked like crazy and felt like they'd been sitting dried out on a grill for weeks. The meat was stale and low quality. Pastor: the flavoring was very sweet and tasted like cinnamon. Meat was kinda dry. I would pass on this the next time we come. Asada: meat was flavorful and tender. Definitely our favorite!
