A fun time in an unexpected location at Orenco. They are rather popular even for HH so definitely make a reservation. Like with many HH, a drink is required but they have many options and overall do a great job on all of them. Food-wise solid portions for the price. HH tends to add up when you are having a little too much fun but this places enabled that (a good thing). Clams were seasonally small so I wish I skipped that but no fault of theirs. I'd definitely return.

Had an absolutely Delightful night at The Dignitary tonight! I started with a glass of Spanish wine: a Monastrell. It was as good as ever and has become one of my favorites. I would have never discovered it if they hadn't served it here. When I'm honest with myself I have to admit that I don't greatly enjoy most of the wines I have at restaurants, even spendy wines. But this one I truly love. No exceptions. No regrets. It is delightful every time I have it. I greatly appreciate the time and effort they put into selecting the wines for their restaurant. Next I warmed up with a House Salad. It was rich and super tasty. For dinner I had the Braised Beef. It was absolutely scrumptious. Tender enough to cut with a fork. And bathed in a deep, rich, soul-satisfying sauce. Atmosphere is also important to me and I love the feel of this place. It's cozy and warm with soft lighting. And I especially enjoy the music. Service is always terrific. They recently expanded the seating in the restaurant to help meet the demand and I'm not surprised. What a fantastic new addition to Hillsboro!

Went on a Saturday for a late lunch (restaurant opens at 3 pm... luckily I was there just a few minutes before). All the team was very welcoming and attentive. Seasonal menu is very good. Happy hour food is good and well served. I wish there were 3 sliders in the slider dish, but 2 is ok. Spacious restaurant and different sizes of tables helps to accommodate different groups sizes.

I met a friend after work on a Friday evening. We were so lucky to get a seat at the bar. This is a great place but the space is small so you should plan ahead. The staff is amazing and the owners are so friendly and welcoming. They have a very diverse drink list and an amazing food menu. This is in my general local area. I have no qualms about driving downtown or to other niche neighborhoods though this new addition to Hillsboro will make me think twice before making that trek.

Tremendous first visit to the Dignitary. We have been anxious to try the restaurant in the former setting of Orenco Grill, and we will be back. The food was perfect. We started with a Lemon Drop and a Whiskey Sour...which were excellent. My wife being vegetarian had the Spinach Dip off the Happy Hour menu. Then she had the House Salad and I had the Caesar Salad. Both were extremely flavorful. She only had the perfectly cooked asparagus for her entrée, while I enjoyed the Chicken Piccata. So good with the asparagus and the mashed potatoes. Shannon, one of the owners was our server and she was extremely engaging and her timing could not have been better. We like the open space that the owners have created. Great vibe. Until next time...

Orenco grill 3.0. ? I so had hopes for the new branding of this restaurant. The started off strong with a lovely basque white wine on the menu but things went downhill after that. Ordered the whipped ricotta with honey and Pistachio. It was served cold with what seemed like stale ruffles bottom of the bag potato chips. Moving on to the main course the chicken was dry and over cook while the mashed potatoes were cold and the asparagus was so charred it was bitter. The burger was fine but not exceptional on par with Red Robin. The truffle fries were under cooked and on the soggy side. They changed some of the fixtures and furnishings and added dark paint but not a real departure from the Orenco grill. Service was friendly but lacked attention to details for the prices on the menu. We didn't finish our meal but were never ask how it was. Overall impression was the menu, Service and quality does not align.

There's also a large patio. This is a welcome and safe space. [Drinks] Right up front, I'm going to tell you I'm a lightweight. I'm allergic to alcohol, so I don't drink often. Here's one of the things I love about The 649. They have a fantastic selection of mocktails that are created with the same creativity, flair, and intention as a "leaded" cocktail. I appreciate that I get to participate and not be stuck with a lemonade, zero alcohol beer, or wine. So, HUZZAH for creating an inviting space for a non-drinker! There *are* times when I'm willing to risk the lobster-bod, itchiness, and stuffy nose and there are plenty of cocktails from which to choose! [Food] There's a nice selection of sharable plates and mains. I've personally tried the flatbread pizza, Bavarian pretzel, Cubano, and Brisket Press, all of which were delish. [Service] The service has always been fabulous. The staff are welcoming, friendly, and helpful. [Activities] There are a few TVs around the bar with sports. It was a great place to catch some of the World Cup games. Additionally, there are several games that you can borrow and play, which is a lot of fun. [Location] Tucked in a busy shopping center with Safeway as an anchor. Parking hasn't been super problematic yet, but based on one of the other reviewers (Ron R - loved your formatting too, so I borrowed it until we get rich text formatting or emojis!) They were crispy but overly oily, and the creamy mayo-based sauce didn't pair well with them. This Appetizer took too long to come out. For the Ahi Poke Tuna - Glad I asked for the sauces on the side. Even with three sauce options, none really worked with the dish. One dark sauce tasted almost like molasses, overly sweet and not something you expect with poke. The chili sauce was also too sweet, while the soy-based sauce tasted excessively salty (fish sauce maybe added in it). I added malt vinegar myself just to balance the flavor. Also, it would be nice if the fish was seasoned with salt(or something) to alter the fishy flavor. The Fish & Chips was average at best. The batter was uneven, with some parts way too thick, though the fries were okay. Experience was not horrible, server was nice and ambiance inside is pretty. I just think the kitchen needs real work.

A Flavorful Escape in Hillsboro! If you haven't made the…read moretrip to Top Burmese Ambassador on Main Street, you are missing out on one of the most unique and soulful dining experiences in the Portland area. While the original NW 21st location is a classic, the "Ambassador" location in Hillsboro feels like a true elevation of the brand, combining incredible hospitality with a menu that is a masterclass in Burmese flavors. Here is why this spot is an absolute 5-star gem: The Tea Leaf Salad (Laphet Thoke): You cannot visit a Top Burmese location without ordering this. It is the gold standard--fermented tea leaves mixed with crunchy peanuts, toasted sesame, fried garlic, and fresh lime. It's a texture and flavor explosion that is unlike anything else in Southeast Asian cuisine. The Golden Samosas: These are a "super duper" must-order. They are flaky, perfectly spiced, and served with a house-made sauce that provides the perfect tangy kick. If you want something even more comforting, their Samosa Soup is the ultimate rainy-day cure. Standout Mains: The Coconut Noodle Soup (Khao Soi) is incredibly rich and aromatic, with just the right amount of creaminess. For a more savory, hearty option, the Beef Curry with Pan-Toasted Paratha is spectacular--the beef is fork-tender and the paratha is buttery and crisp. The Service: The "Ambassador" name is fitting because the staff truly acts as ambassadors for their culture. They are incredibly patient in explaining the menu to newcomers and make excellent recommendations based on your spice tolerance. Atmosphere: The interior is beautifully designed--vibrant, warm, and upscale without being stuffy. It feels like a "mini-vacation" right in the heart of Hillsboro. Pro Tip: This location is incredibly vegan-friendly (about 70% of the menu can be made plant-based!), so it's the perfect spot for a group with diverse dietary needs. Don't leave without trying the Burma Blue cocktail--it's as beautiful as it is delicious!

We ordered the green tea leaf salad, the turmeric fries, the chicken curry with paratha, the all-star okra curry, the coconut noodle soup, and the kheema paratha. I also tried the grass jelly drink. I can't choose my top favorite among everything that we tried. The green tea salad was very unique and I would never have ordered it myself. Now, I'm a fan. The turmeric fries were so delicious too! The chicken curry with the paratha was very Desi and excellent tasting. The okra had a homemade feel to it. I would've liked a side of paratha with it, rather than rice. The kheema paratha was excellent. The coconut noodle soup was like a nice warming/satisfying coconut curry with noodles. The grass jelly was interesting and I know that most of the jelly was left in the can, so while it is nice tasting, I wouldn't recommend drinking it in a can. The Hillsboro location is a little small but this restaurant and the server helping out are both an absolute delight and I highly recommend coming here!!

Staff was very welcoming and well versed with the flavor profiles of the menu items. They also recommended the appropriate number of dishes to order based on the number of people at our table. We started with the oysters on the half shell. They were perfectly sized and succulent with a hint of sweetness. The steak tartare in itself was very rich and melted in your mouth. I would have preferred to have only that alone. The rest of the dish was inspired to have a fusion leaning toward Vietnamese pho. But all those extra fixings took away from the tartare. The Ouefs En Mayonnaise had bacon, smoked roe, and maple stuffed in soft boiled eggs. It would have been a great execution, but the sweetness of the maple overpowered the underlying depth of the dish. The broccoli cobb salad with the fried chicken was really dense. There was a ton of sunflower seeds and dressing. The serving size of the chicken was generous but the amount they gave us weighed down the dish even more. The foie gras dumplings with the leek broth and shallot jam had a lot of potential as well. The pasta was a little too al dente. The stuffing was overly heavy and sweet, even for foie gras. The braised lamb shoulder with the saffron whipped potatoes and ratatouille was very tender and done perfectly. There was just something about that sides in it that were underwhelming. The ricotta gnocchi were well seared on the outside and bouncy on the inside. The corn veloute, fried sage, and parmesan were very complimentary. For dessert, we got the mango sticky rice sundae. The mango dole whip was exotic and tangy. The pandan rice pudding rounded that out. Last but not least we also ordered the earl gray panna cotta with poached rhubarb and oat streusel. This dessert in particular was the shining star. The panna cotta was completely silky with bright notes of bergamot. The rhubarb added just a hint of tang. All around it was just really tasty and we were fighting over who got the next bite. Overall, this was a unique French experience. It is rather expensive and it is expected that you order quite a few dishes, since they are smaller in size, if you want to be full. Some of the food combinations were not symbiotic. Several of them leaned more heavily toward being sweet rather than savory. I would consider maybe coming back for a happy hour but not sure I would return for a regular course meal.
