Supercrisp isn't some boring place with the same old chicken sandwiches burgers and hotdogs... there are sooo many different fresh flavors to each menu item: wasabi mayo, pickled ginger, chili lime sea salt etc. all of the flavors mesh so well too! I had a wasabi burger and fries, came back the next day for the fried chicken sandwich and the kali dog... all were pretty tasty in my opinion, with the fried chicken sandwich being darn near perfect. It's pricey for a burger joint ($20 for a sandwich fries and drink) but on par with most specialty burger places... I do believe there's a discount for Wayne state students too. Given the fact that this has become my new favorite restaurant, it's overdue that I leave a review to help promote this amazing business. I used to live on-campus at Wayne but now live ~30 minutes away. I find myself absolutely craving the Oki fries and will drive there once a month just to fill that craving. Somehow, Supercrisp has perfectly blended American cuisine with Japanese influence and the result is beautiful. I don't usually step outside my food comfort zone, and the items on the menu were super unfamiliar to me when I went for the first time. Then I had a revelation; it doesn't matter what you order here, it is going to BANG. The restaurant has a nice vibe, the service team is beyond helpful, and the food is great. The staff is friendly but I wouldn't sit down here because it is like a cool fast food restaurant and I'd rather just do takeout. There is quick parking out front if you're in and out, otherwise there is a lot of street parking all around for a small fare. The menu is extremely unique and lots of great vegan options. I was super excited to try SuperCrisp for the first time today. We had a great experience overall -- the chicken sandwich was incredibly crispy & all the toppings were delicious. I loved the slaw, pickles and mayo. We also tried the sc fries which were yummy, the spicy cucumbers, and the edamame. The only thing I would change is the edamame. I think there are too many toppings on them. Edamame is a simple and delicious dish, this one felt overwhelmed by the additional seasonings. I dont care what kind of fish that was! It could have been baby poisonous endangered species with a million dollar fine for eating it and I would RISK IT ALL and order another one! It was freshly prepared to a crisp and delicious! The slaw was not soggy or overpowering. I would suggest toasting the bun a bit. But that is only a preference of mine. In my opinion, It does not make or break the flavor of the sandwich. Kudos to the menu creator. The flavors meshed very well. The portions were large enough for me. First let me start by telling you, I hate trying to park in Midtown and downtown. The customer service was really good. They were really nice. The food was very very tasty and different. The Curry dog was the best tasting hot dog I had ever had. I just wonder where they get those hot dogs from? All the toppings was so flavorful it was so different unique from anything I've ever tasted. The honey barbecue wings were really delicious as well and quite tasty. I love anything that has Hoisin sauce. But let me tell you I do love kimchi. We did try the kimchi fries but they were absolutely too hot for me. I like things spicy but that was hot. But the fries underneath it was so delicious that I would just get fries next time. I didn't try the super crispy Burger but she said it was good. Those Szechuan wings were extremely high and I would even dream of trying those period they even smell hot at the table and reminded me of roster wings. Back in the day I used to love me some rusta wings, but now I have an old people stomach and can't take it lol. I had the pleasure of stopping in here on a whim while being in the area. We had just finished up some business, and being from out of town, we went to the place recommended to us from the place we were at. After finishing the meal, I was glad that we listened to them! The restaurant itself isn't very big, but the decor is extremely unique. The ambiance felt very personal, and the decorations were quite cute. We managed to snag the last available table, and they have a cute system of putting a rabbit character on your table to identify the customer's order. Although the restaurant was busy, we got our food served to us much more quickly than I would've thought. Not to mention, the TV was playing Pokémon! The food itself was a one way ticket to Flavortown (sorry to steal your catchphrase Guy!!). They have a massive selection of unique beverages, and I honestly had trouble picking just one since there were so many I wanted to try. I ended up going for an original Ramune as I wanted to live out the anime cliche of cracking one open on a summer afternoon! I ordered the fried chicken sandwich, and it was extremely juicy and crispy. The slaw on the bottom was crisp, the kastu mayo was divine, and the option to put the spice on the side was a great way to enjoy the heat while controlling just how much I wanted on the sandwich. The umami fries paired up very nicely with the sandwich, and tasted amazing in the katsu mayo as well as by themselves. They weren't spicy themselves, but the spice and herb blend used on these thin, crispy fries was mouthwatering. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant to any and everyone! There is so much more to the menu that I didn't even get to try, but next time I'm in the area, I will certainly be trying out one of their unique burgers (also available as veggie patties) or hotdogs. I have tried the fried Tofu and it's really very good and consistently good, service is always friendly and thorough for example last trip in I received my order but checked my carry out prior to leaving and part of my order was incorrect and when I notified the cashier she in fact did remember that I didn't order part of what I was given and quickly told the cook to make what I did order and although I had to wait a little longer I appreciated how quickly she handled the correction. First I wanna be clear: the Curry Burger is delicious AF, however, the slaw is really really wet and should probably be served on the side. Each bite led to my entire hand being looking as if I had plunged it into a jar of curry mayo. This is no minor complaint because it's unpleasant to have that much goop on your hands unless you're five and your finger painting. I had to mop up my hands and face after every single bite with napkins that are pure trash--really small, really thin. This meant that as I was eating I had an enormous mountain of dirty, yellow stained napkins piling up in front of me, which is not appetizing. Plus I was really worried about getting curry mayo my clothing, which I'm sure would lead to a stain you don't want to fight with. At $12, the burger is not cheap, so knowing that a great deal of what I paid for ended up all over my hands and soaked into napkins, adds insult to injury. Talking cost, $12 burgers are not super uncommon anymore, but I had a burger, an order of fries, and a drink. With a 20% tip, my meal was shy of $30. Will I go back? Sure. I'd love to try the Wasabi burger because the halal beef is excellent and the brioche bun is tasty. I can understand paying that much for a burger with toppings. I would not pay $12 for the Supercrisp (regular) burger--should probably be priced at $8-10. The fries were fine but not worth getting again if it's gonna tip the meal towards the $20 mark. I got the ghost pepper spicy fries, and they worked well with the furikake ranch. I don't normally like ranch, but that was really good. My friends didn't care for the miso soup but did enjoy their chicken sandwiches, the edamame, yuzu lemonade, crispy tofu bites, and spicy cucumbers. The staff was really cool, friendly. Vibe is nice. But... Good luck, Supercrisp? Ima isn't cheap either, but it's not competing with anything. If it doesn't have to be fancy, you can get good-tasting burgers for less elsewhere. I came in seeking a slightly higher "quality" of fast food with a twist. I walked out astounded by incomprehensible, borderline obnoxious prices. The food was nowhere near good enough to justify the cost. I read the owner of Ima (which I'm very fond of) created Super Crisp. The idea behind Super Crisp is creative. The sustainability with those prices however? Not good. Halal & vegan options are quite common now a days. But most do not attach scorching markup's to menu prices like these. Me and my girlfriend stopped here for lunch after coffee. The employees were helpful and familiar with the menu. The music was a bit loud, though not as loud as at some other restaurants, but it was interesting and enjoyable. It was pretty well decorated considering it just opened, and the atmosphere was friendly and not overstimulating or stressful. The food was ready pretty quickly and an employee brought it straight to our table. My girlfriend got the spicy fried tofu sandwich, and she gave it an 11.2/12 and she says others would like it. I got the Supercrisp burger and the sauce was very good. The whole burger was well put together, though I wish they had pickles that were a little less sweet, I would give it a 9.4/10.
