I woke up this morning and thought...I want a haircut today. My only options on a Sunday were walk in places. I haven't ever been to a Supercuts but YOLO. ;) I checked online and booked with Barbara for 1240. It was just around noon, their opening time. The website said "zero wait" so I just went for it. A sweet girl named Abigail was open for business. I didn't want to wait 40 minutes when someone was available right then. Abigail was young, barely out of beauty school I'm guessing, but she was nice and I love the way my hair turned out. Prices: 24 for a cut 27 for wash and cut Then prices go up from there if you want a blow dry etc. I got a wash and a cut. I assumed they would wash it but as she was spraying me with water I knew that wasn't the case so I asked for a quick wash. What's the point in getting a haircut without washing it. My hair is no longer than 2 inches. I told her that this is my hair she Then followed up with "we don't cut black people hair". It was my first time there. I had Teresa for my appt. I read some good reviews on her. So I gave her a try. But in person she was terrible. She was rushing me at the end and told me I had to pay extra if I want to blowdry my hair. I told her, how am I suppose to know if the cut turned out satisfactory if I don't know how it looks. My hair was still soaking wet when I left. Then she had the audacity to ask why I didn't include a tip. I told her I only tip for good service. This place has no professionalism or ethics. Came in for a scheduled appointment at 11:10. I came in early too and they said people were already checked in - so I said no problem. I wait my turn - I assume I'm next and some other lady comes in and they said they weren't aware of her but the stylist took her over me again. And then he guy said he would take me cus of the mixup but another customer he knew, took my spot. Then while I'm still waiting after being promised the next stop. Another guy comes in and hands the guy a soda and he just hopped in the chair after the last guy. That spot was for me. Don't go here or really any Supercuts at this point. I check in online and still get skipped twice when I show up. Didn't get seated until 20-30 minutes later. There's really no point in going online and booking it if walk ins get to skip me. Secondly, the quality of haircut is just not worth 30 bucks. I have a receding hairline as pretty much 80% of men do and for some reason hairstylists here and at other Supercuts locations just can't make a somewhat even haircut to save their lives. I like having a little more volume on the top to still be able to style my hair a little bit and not show the receding hairline. But no the best I get is as if I'm 5 years old and I have to wear a comb over like it's my first day of elementary school b/c it's so short and uneven. But hey I guess they were nice. Just about the only good thing that comes out of Supercuts. Time to wear a hat for the next 3 weeks! For 30 bucks it's not worth. Spend 10-15 more dollars and go to an actual barber that can cut hair. read more

Jessica is amazing. She did a fantastic job. I recently had a terrible haircut and was so nervous, she put me at ease immediately. She listened to what it was I wanted. She also offered a deep treatment conditioner which I didn't know was an option, I'm so glad she did because I needed it! I've been looking for a new hair dresser and she is it. Really relieved I found someone I can trust. My hair turned out just perfect. When I need my color redone I'll be coming to her as well. So knowledgeable on products, and just care for hair in general. She's also incredibly sweet, I'd recommend her 10/10 great experience. read more

I had a similar experience to reviewer Sue Z in August of 2024. I needed to find a place to cut my elderly mother's hair; nothing fancy or technical, just a good, clean, short hair cut. I read the reviews here, and because they are such a mixed bag, I thought I would give them a try. I did not "check in online" because that doesn't make sense to my brain; maybe "book your appointment now" would have been less confusing. Either way, the website said no wait, so we just drove over, as it's in Sunset Valley, and we live in Oak Hill (about 10 minutes away). There were two stylists working, and two people waiting. We were not greeted, not told to check in (via the in-store tablet OR via smartphone). We waited well over an hour and that's because I finally stood up and told them I was tired of being passed over, as other customers (likely regulars, based on the familiarity with which they were greeted) who arrived after us were taken back before us. When we finally got assigned to a stylist, I showed her a picture of what we wanted and she seemed to understand. I will give her this much - she's not afraid to go super short, which most stylists seem to be. She cut Mom's hair VERY short (basically a crew cut), which is fine I guess, but she left VERY noticeable, distinct layers that made her look like she had half a bowl on her head and someone cut around it. I'd post a picture but Mom is so embarrassed that she won't allow me to take one. I asked her to soften the layers, and she pulled out a pair of texturizing sheers, which should have been my next clue that this was not going to end well. Not only were the layers not blended well, but Mom was also left with a ton of tiny hairs all over her head, neck, and clothes, since the stylist didn't bother to wet, wash, or style her hair or even blow her cape off. I had to do all of that once I got Mom home, changed, and showered. Needless to say, I'm not totally surprised that our experience was less than ideal, but I was hoping for some level of competency and courtesy, which was seriously lacking for the entirety of our visit. I feel like this place would be fine for guys who just need a trim or women who just want their style touched up (like trimming bangs but nothing much more technical), but we will not be back. I will say this, because I am still annoyed by the experience - my personal stylist charges $135/hour, which is far too much money for a basic cut for my mom, which is why I am looking around for a less expensive option for her. If we had been treated with courtesy, competency, and respect, they would have gained a new client; instead, I feel some obligation to give a fair and honest review, which unfortunately is not very complimentary for this salon. read more

I asked to get my hair washed but some parts of my hair were still dry. My hair is sticky and no conditioner was used. The person asked if the cut was okay but it was hard to tell. The entire experience lasted only 10 min. I had been getting my hair cut at the Anderson Mill location and the man at the Brodie location needs to get trained on hair washing. A barber at this location basically stole $20 from my disabled brother-in-law. My brother-in-law is mentally challenged, deaf, and nonverbal. He does not know the difference in value of denominations of paper money. He went with other men from his group home for a haircut. He pulled a $20 bill from his wallet for a tip, a ridiculous amount. When the house parent asked the barber to give it back for a more appropriate gratuity, the barber refused. I promised my teenage daughter that she could get her hair colored as a Christmas gift. She opted for an ombré peekaboo blue/purple. We went to Jessica late one afternoon and she was kind enough to fit us in and stay late to finish up! She was super sweet and did a fantastic job. My daughter is beyond excited with her new look. My husband and I are very pleased with the customer service at this location. The place is clean an well organized. Lots of great products with reasonably prices , especially when they offer discounts. We would like to recognize the excellent performance of Emilio. Not only is he very personable and charming, but also, we enjoy that he takes his time cutting our hair. He is very detailed-oriented and does not rush to get it done. Emilio asks for our preferences and also suggests what style is better, especially for me, since I decided to cut my hair short and now, my hair is completely gray, no more coloring for me. Drove all the way from South Austin to this location and just for the door to be locked and the employees to wave at me and tell me they were closed at 4PM. If you have to go, ask for Sondra and make sure they don't charge you the BS "special request fee." Otherwise, go somewhere that actually cares about their customers. Twice now, the staff has acted like the only thing they hate more than me is having to cut hair. The first time, one of the young ladies watched me walk in to an empty store and decided that she would rather have continue her conversation on the phone. The rough summary of her conversation: her boyfriend better bring it back, she's tired and just wants to leave, ain't got nothing to do for the weekend, etc. Ten minutes later, I left the sad, tired, planless person alone with her complaints. The last time I went, a gentleman called in "way before [I] did" and requested Sondra. Somebody screwed up the booking in the system so that I was ahead on the list. Instead of taking responsibility for the error, they asked "Ok, so who wants to go first?" In what world does a merchant screw up and then ask the inconvenienced customers to fight each other? The gentleman let me go since I had been waiting for a long time which meant that he had to wait close to an hour after his scheduled time. As a courtesy, I paid for his cut and mine. The reply from the staff "oh, that's so nice!" You know what would be nicer? If the store comped his cut instead of making me do it. If the store took responsibility for the error instead of making the customers sort it out. If everybody (excl. Sondra) in there didn't act like petulant kids. read more

I've been going to this Supercuts location for months now and I'm very pleased with my haircut every time. I was hesitant after visiting other similar salons and receing sub-par haircuts but I'm glad I've found this spot. I have longer hair with layers and bangs and the stylists always do what I ask without trying to force other styles on me. They're very clear and honest about the products they use on my hair but don't pressure me into buying something if I'm clearly not interested. Also, I constantly tell my friends and family about the great price. As a female, any type of haircut can be pricey so this is a refreshing change of pace. I have been going here to get my hair cut for about 6 months now. I always request the lovely and talented "E.J." I believe her first name is Elena. She's extremely friendly, very outgoing and works quickly and efficiently. I used to consider having my hair cut a chore, and a boring one at that. I actually now find myself looking forward to seeing E.J. and walking out of the store with a fresh cut for a low price. She also does a great job with my kids' haircuts too. Been to this location several times due to it being conveniently located. However I have decided its time to go somewhere else. They are incredibly slow when they're open. The last time I tried to go there it was an 8pm after work on a weekday. The website said they were open until 9pm. When I arrived at the shop it was closed with a really informal note reading "closing at 7pm until further notice." Very unprofessional and discourteous to the customers. We've been to this location consistently to see Gerald but he is no longer working there. Needless to say I will no longer be taking my family to this location. I was told to make an appointment as my daughter wanted a certain cut, which we did. When we got there there was a lady chewing gum very loudly who told us to wait behind every one else because they are a "walk in only". She completely disregarded our appointment time. We were told to come back in 20 mins to take care of the customers before us, which we did. We waited almost an hour and left as we were just sitting watching her schmooze while my daughter was sitting in the cutting chair. I've never experienced this kind of disregard and poor customer service at a supercuts before. The staff needs some lessons in customer service. read more

Usually I stick to the Supercuts in my neighborhood. Since I was in the area finishing up errands I figured I'd stop and get my hair tended to. I walk in at 4 in the afternoon, no customers are present. I sign in, say hello to the stylist sitting in the back and wait, and wait, and wait. I could hear her talking to someone next to her. Maybe they were on a lunch break or something, I can understand that. However it's common courtesy to at least acknowledge that there is a customer present. Let me know that It will be a ten minute wait or something. Don't just look up from your gossip fest and go back to it. I can't even say there was any kind of service. 1 star is too much. read more
