Very disappointing and frustrating experience. I made a 4:00 p.m. appointment for my two boys, and we arrived 10 minutes early because we had somewhere else to be afterward. We waited around for approximately 20 minutes before the stylist finally said anything to us. Then, at 4:10, she took another client instead of honoring our appointment. She told me it would only take 10 minutes to cut the woman's hair, which was clearly unrealistic and felt like she was only saying that to keep us waiting. If she was running behind or could not take us at our scheduled time, she should have communicated that when we arrived--not after making us wait without any explanation. What is the point of offering appointments if they are not going to be honored? We specifically scheduled a time because we had plans afterward and could not wait around indefinitely. We arrived early, received no communication for about 20 minutes, and were then passed over for another customer. We ended up leaving without either of my boys getting their hair cut. ***I'm updating the review and adding a Star for the Salon general Manager Heather who called to follow up with me right away. She offered a refund and for another stylist to try to correct the bad haircut which was much appreciated. (I'll take the refund but I'm not letting them near me with scissors ever again ). Haircut is comically bad but the customer service is solid. *** I went in for a quick trim on my long layers in naturally wavy/curly hair. The stylist was very sweet and friendly but seemed to struggle with what to do with my hair texture. She sprayed it down and brushed until it became dry and very frizzy and then began to cut. As it was only supposed to be a trim to remove dead ends I figured this was her method and didn't worry about it too much. She cut long side bangs I didn't ask for but looked cute enough. After she was done cutting she kept adding lots and lots of product to my hair and trying to brush it straight (which with curly hair... Does not work). I never bother to get my hair blow dried since it takes forever so I thanked the stylist and left. When I got home I started to dry and straighten my hair myself and discovered the layers were very uneven and unblended. I'm very sad as my hair was waist length and now it seems like I'll need to cut it to my shoulders to correct. Please train your stylists to ask for help if they are dealing with a texture or style they are uncomfortable with. It's going to take years for me to regrow my hair to the length I wanted. read more

I've used this Supercuts about four times now and the staff have been consistent in their professionalism and hospitality. I personally like going to JingJing as my stylist because of her attention to detail and her exceptional customer service. I highly recommend her. If there's one thing I wish they could do at the site it would be to use the fiverstars electronic loyalty rewards program like the site in Pasadena uses so it's one less card I have to carry around. read more

I wish I could write a review without any starts but.... well, I saw the review before going there but I was skeptic and figured it won't be as bad as everybody says, I walked in, they were friendly and greeted me and everything, she started working on my hair and after 20-25 minutes the other lady (experiences one) ask her if she need help and indeed she said yes, I looked at my hair from the side (angle) and it was all messed up and uneven, like every other review, took two people to fix my hair and took about 56 minutes in total. Not only I wasn't offer anything but I ended up paying the full amount, again, I shouldn't have gone the moment I saw the review but it was a pretty bad experience, they should really close down this location. Nothing on the employees because they need to learn when they come out the school but is that really good practice to leave them alone without any supervision and experience to work on the customers hair??? I'm really disappointed and I'll try to schedule an appointment with a local barber from now on, they lost my business, I'm a type person that likes to get a haircut every 3-4 weeks or even every 2 weeks in between but.... I'm scared that it'll happen again...... I was skeptic but now I'm a believer, hopefully others won't make my mistake and avoid this location. read more

So let me break it down for you all how my visit went!! I won't go into detail because I am besides myself as how I was treated!! The hairdresser, let's call her sandy, saw me standing there, looked at me like I was this dirty Mexican and whispered in the mans ear, and laughed, not once, not twice, several times, I felt so uncomfortable, not once did she ask if I needed help. The other worker there never saw me, then when she saw me for the first time she asked me if I had been helped!! I answered her no and that sandy knew I had been standing there for at least 3-4 min!! My daughter and I went to get our hair cut. The girl cut my daughter's hair in less than 5 minutes, and it didn't even look like she had a hair cut. I asked if she could cut some more. She cut her hair for maybe two more minutes, and left it super uneven. I made an excuse to leave so that my hair didn't suffer the same fate. I will include photos. You can go down the street to Secrets, and get a much better, thorough haircut for less money. Update on March 20th, 2016: The public relations lady read the above review, and offered my daughter to go back for free and have them fix it. We went in and a different stylist Miriam fixed it. A second one came to check it wet and dry to make sure it was good. It was good. Those two were very nice, and much more thorough than the original one. I regret tipping the girl last time, and not tipping the girl today. Oh well. I upgraded my review from 1 star to 3 stars. read more

My daughter and I had a fantastic experience this morning with Sandy. She gave a simple cut to my daughter but offered to braid and style it for her after. She was so kind and tender to her! My daughter was thrilled and proceeded to examine the beautiful braid in the mirror while I had my hair cut. Sandy did a fantastic cut for me, exactly what I had described to her. I didn't have the greatest experience with one of the staff, don't know how the rest of the staff is. This review is for January 2020. It was my first time going to a Supercuts. I looked on Yelp to see which Supercuts I should go to, and to see what reviews were. I saw that the one I was closest to had only 3 stars, where as one a little further up the road at 411 E Huntington Drive had 4 stars. I wondered why there was this difference, but figured it was probably just a fluke or something. I wish that I had just gone to the one with the better reviews, but I was lazy. Lesson learned. I don't remember the name of the woman who cut my hair. She was nice, but I was not happy for a haircut. I wanted a short angled bob, and she didn't cut it short enough, nor did she make it angled. I asked if she could cut it shorter, and showed her the picture I wanted again. She did cut it a little but shorter, but it still wasn't short enough or angled enough and it didn't look like the haircut I wanted. She also used clippers on a tiny bit of the back left side of my head for some reason. She sort of brushed off my hinting of wanting her to go even shorter, and I felt like I was being rushed out. I will admit that I am not skilled at being assertive and expressing my needs, so after asking that one time for it to be shorter, I didn't want to ask again. I just said thanks, and went to pay. I will say that she noticed that my scalp was irritated and recommended a tea tree shampoo that I really like (but also was kind of pushy about it but in the end I'm glad I bought it). I left the haircut not happy with my haircut (again, partly my fault for not asserting myself). Oh also, I had SO MUCH hair all over my neck and in my shirt even though she put the cape thing around me! I knew I wouldn't be back to this Supercuts again. After a couple of days of not liking the haircut, I decided to try out the other Supercuts at 411 E Huntington Drive, even if I had to pay for a haircut all over again. They fixed it as best they could given what the first hairdresser did (they couldn't give me exactly what I wanted because the first hairdresser cut the front too short to give it the dramatic angle I wanted), and it looked great. They didn't even charge me because I went back within 7 days to fix a haircut I wasn't happy with. I was super happy with my haircut after that! read more

Interesting similar experience as the other reviewer. I called was told there was no wait. And my name would be put on the list. I arrive five minutes later and see that there are several other people waiting. I figured I would be next since I had the appointment. Receptionist told me 10 minutes wait, I was fine with that. After 30 minutes and having had an appointment Still no haircut. I Can also see as they were cutting women's hair that it would be at least another 10 minutes.I wish places were just be more considerate of people's times and let them know the actual wait. Had you told me it was busy when I called I would have come in another time. Instead you try to squeeze us in your busy schedule and expect that we would be OK with it. Aw I'm a little sad that the reviews for this place are so bad. I for one do not usually go to these francise hair cut salons. My hair is long and I'm a little picky, so I prefer to go to my favorite stylist at a particular salon in Covina. BUT my little 13 year old brother needed a haircut really bad..he needed to get rid of his justin bieber hair! I finally convinced him but he did not want to go back to this previous salon he usually goes to, so my first thought was supercuts. Pretty cheap, and not too far away. The little bro is a shy guy, very nervous so I helped him try to figure out what kind of hair style he wanted. Which he didn't know. Our stylist was this asian lady...I think her name was Sally? She was so friendly and so sweet, that my little brother easily trusted her. Even though I had a hard time explaining what kind of hair he wanted (he didn't want a simple buzzcut, nope, he's way more complicating than that), she was just like "don't worry, I think I know what you want." and Voila, he looked so handsome afterwards. I finally could see his forehead thats been hidden under his hair! Best of all, he was happy with it..which is very RARE. I'm sure he'll want to find her next time he needs a hair cut. So 5 stars to the asian lady that understood how to cut my brother's hair, I think it looks so clean and trendy! read more

This place is cheap, and possibly good if you're taking your young kids there to get a trim. I went in to get a trim and add some bangs to my hair. The girl didn't do an awful job, but it sure wasn't that great either. When I said I was trying to grow my hair long but that I needed a trim, she seemed rather confused as to why I was getting my haircut if I was trying to grow it out (uh, split ends!). Then she seemed to feel that cutting my bangs would also prevent my hair from growing long. She took maybe 10 minutes on the whole job, conversation included. I don't know for sure if she knew what she was doing, but thankfully what I asked for was easy enough and anything that was left undone I was able to do myself. I've had better haircuts, and at least she didn't try to sell me stuff (all of the other locations spent a long time lecturing me on buying the stuff *they* sell, lol). I won't be going back to this location, however, since there are plenty of hair salons in Monrovia. read more

This review is long overdue. Sophia is amazing and great at what she does. I would always go there for a shampoo and I always left feeling like my hair was thoroughly washed and clean vs some other places or when other people wash it. She is very honest too. I left my sunglasses there and she had it put away with my name on it so I can pick up the next day! I thought for sure my glasses were gone! But was so happy she had noticed and put hem away for me! Sophia was amazing! I stopped in for a simple wash and style, and she went above and beyond! In all my years of getting my hair done, she was the first stylist to ever grab a stool for my feet so I could actually relax while she was washing my hair. She even gave me hot towels for my face. It was so calming. I could've slept there! When it came to styling my hair, she was still amazing. She let me smell the product before putting it in my hair to make sure that it was something I would like. When my hair was dry, she treated me by curling my hair with the flatiron! It looked amazing. She even gave me tips on how to keep the look fresh until tomorrow (the day I actually wanted my hair to look nice). I had some time while waiting for an oil change so figured I would kill two birds with one stone and get a haircut. I called to ask what the wait would be and the stylist who answered the phone said they could take me now, so I put off getting lunch and walked over, getting there in about 5 minutes. I then proceeded to wait for 30 more minutes before being brought back for what was quite possibly the shortest haircut I've ever received. I might have been in the chair for 5 mins and the stylist did about the most cursory haircut I've ever received. The hairline wasn't straight, no effort to blend or fade anything, and had I not encouraged the stylist for it, she wasn't even planning to cut it as short as I requested (instead proceeded to say that my typical stylist "cut it too short"). I was planning to ask her to fix it all but before I could even suggest it, she showed me the back of my head and said "it turned out really good", so I knew it wasn't going to get any better. As I paid, my stylist spoke with another stylist and asked where the gentleman and his two children who were next went. The other stylist said "They got mad and left. Oh well, it's okay."
