Absolutely horrible experience! Ruined my hair. Charged me $23 dollars, told me in a rude way they didn't know how to do a line up, or fade, or the type of hairstyle I was asking for. They left my hair uneven I had to go to a barber shop so they could fix it. Waste of money. These 2 older ladies that I believe are Russian or similar are very rude. This place is a joke. My friend and I got there on time. Josephene says I can't come in, I wait. After I was let in, my friend was told to wait even though we both had 4:30PM appointments. One person who is in line after her, who's appointment is at 5PM is let in by Josephene and tells my friend that they should have verified. I ask my hair dresser if we needed to call, she states that if we had our appointment online she can be seen soon. Josephene stops cutting her current clients hair to answer the phone and tells the person over the phone that they will be next. I pay and leave. read more

I love a bargain like the rest of us.. but this West Hollywood guy is very vain and the hair is super important..I moved to LA about 10 years ago and went to all the really expensive Beverly Hills salons along with referrals to all the " hip" hollywood places..Also A little background to really cement this review. i also of course went to the best of the best places in NYC. I have my fathers dark brown sicilian italian hair with a red under tone..I started getting gray at 20 years old.. and that was just not going to be ignored!! LOL... Short story... no matter where i went and no matter how much i expressed i did not want my hair dyed to my original brown.. i left every salon with freekin red showing thru... it made my blood boil... so after salon and salon out here.. i was ready to give up.. i was starving one day.. pulled in to the Dennys/ and afterwards.as i walked to my car i saw the Supercuts in the same shopping center. i figured at this point i would just get a hair cut and let them dye my hair red like everyone else for the time being... Well!!!!! Not only did i get an amazing cut for like 20 bucks.. when I usually spend like 75 to 100... they dyed my hair for 40 dollars more and i left with gorgeous natural dark brown!!! i know it was amazing because when I got home.. my doorman stopped me and asked where i got my hair done.. he was amazed how good it looked!! Go see Christina, the manager and the young amazing talent Denise and trust me you will leave there looking insane good and with paying like 50% less at least then you usually do... they also have great hair product.. Russian woman was super rude. I had told her I wanted to get rid of my split ends. She's like how many inches you want 5 or 3 inches and I was like I'm not sure what do you recommend. She's like well I don't know it's your hair. Super rude the whole time. Was already put in the chair ready to begin. She was still being really rude and I just got up and left. I got there 4:58 on a Sunday, entered the salon while light signs indicated "Open". A young gentleman came to me and said "I am sorry sir we are closed.". EVERY TIME my husband gets his hair cut here, it looks great. They don't do it too short, they get his bangs just right, and it always looks neat and clean. This particular Supercuts used to be in Larchmont Village, but recently moved. When they were moving, they gave all their customers a coupon for the new location, so my husband got $5 off his last haircut. For the price, these stylists are really great! read more

The 1 star is for the friendliness. However, BAD HAIRCUT!! She did not listen to how I wanted cut and went with what she thinks "look good for you." During the haircut, she kept smacking my head to dust off the hair she cut off... I might have a minor concussion thanks to her!! Afterwards, she just put gel on my hair without asking if I needed it washed or if I am satisfied with the haircut. She missed a lot of spots (lots of hair on random spots) and it was not the hair style I wanted!!! She didn't even bother cleaning the hair off my face. DEFINITELY NOT COMING BACK. read more

I wouldn't recommend going to this Supercuts, or any if anything. I thought I would stop by this one because it is close to where I live and I walk by it all the time. I know that Supercuts aren't great but I thought I should try my luck at this one which was a HUGE MISTAKE. The place was empty which was good but I could see why now it's always empty. The butcher who cut my hair was an armenian lady with blonde curly hair. I didn't get her name. I told her I just wanted my hair the same style that I already had but shorter. I was going to show her a picture but she said she didn't need one because she such a pro. I told her to go as short as possible because my hair grows really fast. My haircut came out really bad. IT has no style, it ruined the simple hair cut I had which was the "Undercut". You can look it up, it a simple hair cut. My hair was already like that but she just ruined it. I willl never go back to any Supercuts again. Supercuts should hire professionals, not just people that can hold scissors. read more

The crew at Supercuts always does right by me, especially my favorite stylist, Jessica. I've actually followed Jessica from a couple of other Supercuts locations, but the Gower Gulch location is my favorite, since it's centrally-located in Hollywood and generally has plenty of parking available (it's in a strip mall at the corner of Gower and Sunset). Wait times can vary, but the staff is friendly and efficient, so even if you just walk in off the street without calling in advance (or putting your name in the queue via the Supercuts app), you should usually be in and out pretty quickly. My first time at any Supercuts and Josephine was so great! I came in for a trim because my dead split ends were so terrible and I just couldn't stand it anymore. I didn't ask for anything fancy, just a trim that didn't look like a blunt cut. She told me my scalp needed some love and exfoliation and at first I thought "nahhh, that's just the way it always is" but then I thought "why not try what she's offering". I did the tea tree scalp treatment and it was like my scalp could breathe again! I didn't know all those products I use leaves a film behind and doesn't wash off with shampoo and it stays caked on my scalp! After trying that treatment, I was sold! Quick, easy. I usually go to a salon for hair color but do my in between haircuts/trims at Supercuts. Had my haircut with Ana and she did a great job of telling me everything she was going to do before she did it and checking length and style with me before she cut it. Make sure to do the "Save my Spot in Line" feature on Yelp/the Supercuts website - my wait was about 15 mins and they took me before someone who didn't make an appointment. read more

I've been visiting this location for over a year now and couldn't be happier. Friendly staff and easy parking in a private lot. Josephene has been taking care of me ever since I've been coming to this location. I've been thinning up top for a while and had almost come to terms with the fact that my hair would never look good anymore. However, Josephene worked her magic and figured out a style that works great for me. Also, the check in/call ahead feature is as close to an appointment as you can get. I would advise you to stay away from Supercuts. I was warned but since it was near I decided to give them a try. Not only are there cuts hastily done, but on top of that you get a healthy dose of RACISM if you don't have straight silky hair. The barber referred to her bad job as it being my fault because my natural curls aren't conditioned enough, when I use leave in conditioner weekly and Argan oil on a daily basis. It said to know such a big chain doesn't provide cultural sensitivity training to their staff. I feel it was my fault for ignoring the warning, but it is never ok for racism to occur. It is unacceptable that this is the treatment they give their clients and then expect a tip. So please use my experience as warning enough to stay as far away as possible from Supercuts. read more

One Word.......BUTCHERS! This was not my first time at this Supercuts location or others for that matter, but it will be my LAST! While the staff here and at other locations are generally nice, when it comes to cutting hair, most of them are butchers! The biggest problem I have with Supercuts is the fact that they do NOT cut one's hair, they SHAVE it! Based on my various visits I assume the hair stylists here, or butchers, did not learn how to cut hair at Cosmetology School, but perhaps were taught to shave heads by soldiers in the U.S. Army. Upon walking into this butcher shop one weekend, I expected to see the usual long line of waiting frat boys all hungover from the previous night of binge drinking. To my surprise there was NOT ONE person waiting...I thought I had lucked out! Well it didn't take long to discover why no frat boys were waiting. After I told my butcher that I didn't want her to use hair clippers on me and that I would prefer she just trimmed my hair with scissors, she looked at me like a deer in headlights. Of course the first thing she grabbed was the hair clippers and began to just lightly trim my hair. It was here that I knew I was in trouble! While the butcher went to work on my hair, the store phone rang and guess what? My butcher, being the ONLY employee in the shop, put down the clippers and answered the phone! In the middle of my hair cut she walked over and took a phone call!!!! Yeah, that's real good business! Upon returning to my haircut, she started to use the scissors and it was clear that she didn't know what she was doing, and she felt very uncomfortable using them. I slowly watched my hair look uneven and WORSE than when I walked in! I quickly stopped her from doing any more damage and told her to STOP cutting my hair and just even it out so I can get out of here. When she thought it was even enough, she stopped. Then I asked her to trim the hair in my ears with the trimmer which they ALWAYS do, and this is usually the ONLY thing they do right here, as it is not a difficult task. The butcher then explains to me that she will not put the hair clippers anywhere near the inside of my ear due to their lame corporate policy (I highly doubt any human being in history has ever been cut or hurt with hair trimmers) So no hair trimmers in the edges of my ear but it's alright to run them hard over my entire head? Yeah, that makes sense. At this point I got up, paid my bill, and was not surprised I was the ONLY customer here on a Saturday afternoon. I will NOT return! THE BOTTOM LINE: Supercuts is great to stop at if you are on your way to a Dodger game and need your head shaved. My suggestion is Supercuts hire a tattoo artist in all their Los Angeles locations so they can give customers an "LA" tattoo on their necks after their hair cuts, if they don't already have one. While some may be content with a head shave as a hair cut, people who are not on parole and wish to have a stylish hair cut.....STAY AWAY! You will be very disappointed. You get what you pay for. I've been once...and have called twice...they are absolutely horrible with customer service and they get rattled and offended by the simplest most typical questions...like what stylist is familiar with african American hair? What is the price for a blow dry and does that include shampoo and conditioner?...I mean so irritated seems very strange. The time that I did go the lady seem to not understand that my hair gets curly when wet...once she washed me it was like oh now I don't know What to do....train your people better!!! All around with customer service AND technique train them on ALL types of hair! read more

Don't come here they take forever and gossip about their clients. This older lady ruined my hair. It was like she was depressed and didn't know what she was doing. A guy walked in and the lady who cut my hair said "that white guy don't like here" Then at the end of my haircut I asked if she could braid the back of my hair real quick and she messed up and said that a pony tail would look better and then I told her never mind I'll ask my friend to braid my hair later.
