I walked in at 9:50am on a Saturday morning and wasn't greeted so I sat down for 20 minutes. I typically go to the amazing Brenda in Newbury Park who gives an incredible blowout. I pay $15 (I wash it, takes about 20 minutes to blow out) Since I live in Glendale and go frequently for blowouts I thought I'd try the SuperCuts near me (Glendale) since I go to Encino and Newbury Park for an amazing $20 Blowout. I go once, twice weekly I'd like to have a place nearby. The not-so-nice Jasmine informed me they would not be honoring the deal any longer so I'll be going to Encino Newbury Park for always exceptional service. I could tell by the way she looked at the $20 price tag she was not happy. $20 for no more than 25 min seems reasonable to me as that's $40/hour. I had my hair colored ombré about 4-6 weeks ago at another salon that had already faded. I was also due for a haircut. Walked in and was greeted by Kristy at the front desk. Jasmine Feldman, the stylist, came right over and asked me right away what I wanted to have done. To be honest, I really just wanted a haircut, but Jasmine pitched a great hair color and style I couldn't resist. Luckily, the salon wasn't too busy when I arrived. The salon got uber busy in less than a half hour after my arrival. Jasmine colored my hair the exact color I wanted which was closer to my natural color with hints of highlights. She knew right away what would suit me best and what I was looking for. I also loved my layer haircut. With my busy schedule, I can style my own hair in a breeze. Wow. Just wow. I've gone to high-end salons my whole life but met ANGIE socially and thought I'd give it a try (it grows out after all). My naturally wavy hair, formerly rich brown with natural red and blonde highlights, has faded to a rather mousy brown with some grey and was in desperate need of deep conditioning. I walked out ecstatic and have had so many compliments. The cut, deep conditioning, color (semi-permanent overall with lighter and red highlights as well as darker low lights), and product recommendations were equal to any high-end salon. When I washed it a few days later, I was able to "scrunch and go" using the products she recommended. Thanks for the fantastic job!! I hate Supercuts. Why I go here sometimes, I don't know. Probably just a lapse of judgement. So I went here once to get my hair fixed. I you look at my profile pictures, one of them is my hair after Vidal Sassoon Academy - I needed that cut to look work for normal life. I was thinking about going to a high end salon but hey, I'm cheap. So I went to Supercuts. What did they do? Chop it all off. Chop it off to the point that, when dry, my hair would still stick up since it was so short and had no weight to hold it down. Chop it all off so I looked like a man, and an ugly man at that. Yo... straight up... this place is garbage. The ladies here don't know how to cut men's hair... I know places in Ktowm that charge eight bucks and can give you a mean cut, but this place is just too ridiculous. They don't know how to give you a good fade or line-up and take literally 5 minutes with your hair. They care so much about other customers they got lined up that they don't take time to give you the look you want. You're better off trying to find an actual barber. The vibe I get here is that they want your money and tip for the least amount of work and effort possible. From observation it seems like they spend more care with the the women's hair, so if you're a man wanting that fresh cut for your date or just to get that clean cut then this is not a place where you want to get your cut. Gentleman, fair warning, this place will not do the best job with your cut. $15 for lack of care... definitely not worth it. Drop it to five to eight bucks and maybe then I would add a star or two. read more

I gave this place a second chance and they failed.When I got my color done there,they put Vaseline all around the edges of my hairline.Then they proceeded to get the color all over the actual skin on my face.When they washed my hair out and wiped the Vaseline off,they unprofessionally asked if I could just wash the rest off myself.I am staying loyal now to the Supercuts location in Sunland,CA where they give great customer service and know me by name.The La Canada location has stylists who don't know what they are doing and can be very rude.Avoid this location.Go to the Sunland location where you will be treated and pampered like a paying customer should be. read more

I've been going here for a couple of years, and most of the time the haircuts are acceptable, and reasonably priced. The "experience" could be improved. I was in yesterday, and the stylist was asking a lot of personal questions about family and holidays, and then expressing her judgments. That's not appropriate. If I bring up a topic, fine, but don't presume that any topic is fair game. We're not "friends," we're just making passing conversation during the haircut. To start...i am not a "Supercuts" guy. I tend to search out the local barber shop with the andy cane pole. A month ago I was in desperate need of a haircut,was in the area and low on cash. I stopped in. Front desk woman was extremely nice and although the place looked busy got me a seat in less than 5. Now I'm terrible with names but the girl who cut my hair was fantastic!! Gave me a shampoo making my head all minty tingly and got rid of the dry scalp problem i developed. Along with great conversation. Which for me is a huge plus cause there is nothing worse than someone cutting your hair in silence while you have no choice but to stare at them in the mirror. So in short. I have been going to this Supercuts for over a decade. I have an odd schedule, and barber shops seem geared towards those who work M-F, 9-5, so Supercuts has been my place. I have had my hair cut by all the long-time stylists there, and they all do a good job, but I now insist on Jasmine Feldman. Jasmine is excellent. She remembers what we did during my last visit even though she has a zillion other customers, she asks what I want and also offers suggestions, she makes sure new walk-in customers feel welcome, she keeps her station clean, and even when we try something new, Jasmine ALWAYS delivers a superior hair cut. I have to agree with a previous rater; however, that the receptionist is totally rude, condescending and will wait on you when SHE pleases. She is the -star to make my rating five stars. She acts as if this is a high-class, appointment-only establishment. I always try to make an appointment, but if the owners want to make it appointment only, then don't invite walk-ins. I don't think this is their intent; it's just the very bad attitude of the receptionist that leaves me and apparently others with this impression. Okay so I totally ignored the Yelp reviews, bc other Supercut locations have been just fine, and easy and affordable, so I tried this one for a color. I have highlighted my hair awhile ago, and have since died it brown, which was actually lighter than my natural color. I went into this Supercuts on a Monday afternoon, and after 5 minutes of waiting was sitting in the "Color Specialists" chair named Jasmen. I explained I wanted a dye job to match my roots which were an inch and a half of growth. After she picked out a color, and did the quick dye job, I sat and waited while she helped 3-4 other quick cuts. She hardly spoke to me the entire time in her chair, even when i tried making conversation time after time with her. We went to the sink to wash out the hair and when i sat back down noticed my roots were ORANGE! and the rest of my hair a dark purple/red/brownish color. YUCK! The first thing out of my mouth was "This looks bad!". Anyways she never admitted that there was anything wrong, and then spoke to the other workers who came to me to assure me that it looked "good" even and it was a "pretty color". Yeah right! After speaking up she asked if I wanted her to re-dye my roots... I said I am not the expert, and am not sure but I did want it one color. Anyways the torture started again. And she was unfriendly as ever. She said we would fix it, even if it took til morning... hmmmm Anyways after washing out the next color, it still looked crappy. I complained to the front desk lady, who was trying to charge me $60. I said it looked bad and I dont want to waste my $$ when I just have to get it redone tomorrow, She was nice and called her manager (the owner?) and they comped it. I left Jasmen a tip, which I regret now, and my hair still looks like crap. Jasmen got involved in the conversation I had with the front desk lady when I was complaining about my roots, and she said well you had roots when you got here. I mentioned thats why I came in, to get rid of the roots. BUt she was still rude as ever and probably used to unhappy customers. Good afternoon, I just had my hair cut at the Supercut in La Canada/La Crescenta and I was very disappointed by the lack of proper management of that store. The store did not have a receptionist to answer the phone. while I was waiting to get my hair cut, the only hair stylist had to stop performing her job on her patron to answer the phone. Eventually, another hair stylist showed up to take care of me. Then, she took over to answer the phone on three different phone call leaving waiting for finish my hair cut. I had only had 1 good hair cut from this place and today just pissed me off. I specifically told my hair stylist how i wanted my hair cut and she completely ignored everything i told her and cut my hair so bad that i found bald spots and patches. I also had to explain what i wanted specifically for about 5minutes because she just did not listen, a 10 year old could have understood what i was saying. Oh gosh, for a supercuts this place is really great. I rarely get haircuts..... like ever! I came here last minute because I got a HORRIBLE haircut and needed it fixed like ASAP. They were really great and took the time to ask me a bunch of questions as they went and cut my hair. They made sure that I knew how they were going to fix it and how I wanted it to look in the end. ANGIE is amazing! I've gotten my hair cut here and other supercuts locations and she listened to what I said and went above and beyond. She looked at my hair and knew not to go any shorter or else when it dries it'll be too short. I haven't gotten my hair cut by her prior to today but sure will in the future. Listen, you don't always want or need the full-service salon experience. The convenience of no appointment, weekend hours, and a rewards program make Supercuts great. This location is always clean, the stylists efficient but skilled and price of course is great. I had a great cut by Anna that rivaled haircuts I've had at 3x the price. I used to go to "regular" salons and pay $60-$100 for a haircut, but at some point realized that the cuts I get aren't really complicated enough to justify the price tag. Hence I was at Supercuts today. I went here on a Thursday morning and there was no wait. I opted for the tea tree oil scalp massage with my shampoo and cut. It was well worth the extra $10. The lady who cut my hair (last chair on the left - she has red hair) was really good. I brought a picture of a simple cut that I wanted and she accommodated it. Supercuts policy is to not dry your hair when they cut it, but I was pleasantly surprised that the stylist did dry it enough to make sure that the ends were evenly cut and that it will lay properly when it's fully dry. All in all it was a shampoo, tea tree scalp massage, and haircut for $28. Good deal. read more

My family and I have gone to this particular Supercuts for years since we live nearby. I was on a tight schedule today because my daughter had to attend a birthday party, so I called ahead and made an appt for 1:30. I arrived at 1:32pm with my daughter and proceeded to wait 25m while other walk-in customers were taken ahead of me. By the time I had to leave, I asked the register clerk what had happened, that I had called in and had waited in front of them for half an hour. I was asked if I had checked in when I arrived. I have never had to check in before, so I hadn't. I left without a haircut because I had to take my daughter to the birthday party. I am quite annoyed by this generic service, especially since I have visited that particular store for years. So, from this day forward, I am simply no longer a Supercuts customer. read more

The girl at the front desk pays attention to customers, and does a great job explaining appointments, ways to not wait, etc. As far as the hair stylists go, even with 6 people waiting, they all took their time and focused on the person they had in their seat.
