My lovely haircut.
Carla O.

I so needed a haircut and never planned to come to this location, however, I am so glad I did. I I usually like to avoid Point Loma because the traffic is so congested but decided to drive here on a Saturday because my main reason was to get an Açaí Bowl at Northside Shack who has the most amazing bowls and everything else I might add. In any case, I decided since I was already in Point Loma why not get a haircut. I was seen by Crystal Westbrooks who I learned happened to be the Manager too who cut my hair. She was so friendly first and foremost is what I observed. She took a genuine interest in asking me what I needed to have done and also gave me her suggestion as well. She said it would look good for my hair to be layered since I have so much of it and needed to have a more defined shape to it and also get rid of the heaviness of it. She explained how the products "Enjoy" Shampoo, conditioner, and detangling spray was on sale since you buy two and get the third free. She said she would use the products on my hair so I could feel and see how nice and hydrating they were for my hair. The end result of coming here was that I experienced a friendly hairdresser who was also well experienced in haircuts, and a great sales person who sold me on the "Enjoy" hair kit which included the shampoo, conditioner, and hair detangle spray. I walked away in a great mood as I loved the haircut and how the products made my hair feel not to mention buying the products to use on a regular basis for continuous hydrated and beautiful hair. Don't waste anymore time and make an appointment today! Thanks Crystal for being fabulous!

Kathleen has been cutting my hair since I've moved to the area (for quite some time). To say I'm picky about how my hair is done is an understatement, she has never let me down and makes me feel so pretty after each cut. She is thorough, detail oriented, and the absolute sweetest! Thanks for making me feel like a Queen!

Prom hairstyle

I don't usually post reviews but I will make an exception since Maddy is highly talented and did a brilliant job on my daughter's hair for prom. My daughter showed her a photo of the hairstyle she wanted and Maddy worked her magic. It was a last minute booking since my daughter couldn't decide if she wanted her hair styled professionally and most of the salons around Point Loma were fully booked by then. it was overall a great experience and we came out of the salon fully satisfied with her service.

Paired to my review, they didn't care so we will just show cut...

This was our first time here. Great customer service, but I think $23 is expensive for a child's haircut. It is $16 for 10 and under.

Ask the Community - Supercuts

How much do they charge for a shampoo, cut and blow dry for a Womens cut for long hair?

Haircuts are on special on Tue for $27, regular price is $30. Blowdry is all depending on the length of hair and if any styling is involved.

Does anyone know if estella still works at this location ? She did an amazing job last time she cut my hair .

No. Unfortunately she moved to Florida.

I went here in February for a haircut and partial highlight, and based on my experience do not…read morerecommend them. I received partial highlights that were very brassy and looked grown out the second I left the salon. I spent the day of my appointment really disappointed and bought blue shampoo to try to brighten the tone, which didn't work. I decided to call the salon and the owner called back and had me come in to fix it. I drove 30 minutes back to the salon, and when I got there I explained what I didn't like, and the stylist asked me what I wanted to do. Since I'm not the stylist I reiterated that I wasn't sure but explained the problem. He did a quick toner and dried my hair, and I felt much better. The next evening I washed my hair and all the toner came out and my hair was back to where it started. At that point I didn't feel comfortable going back because my concerns were given such a temporary fix and weren't taken seriously. An experienced stylist should know that toner wouldn't last and that I wouldn't be happy in the long run, despite the $300 price tag. I gave it a few weeks to see if I could get used to my hair, but hated it every time I looked in the mirror, so I made an appointment with a different stylist at a new salon. When I told her my experience she said she would have guessed it had been a few months since my last appointment, not a few weeks based on how brassy and grown out it was. She recommended I reach out to the salon and request a refund of some kind based on how my hair looked. I took her advice and emailed JolSalon with my concerns and photos of my hair. After a few weeks no one responded, so I called and left a message explaining that I'd like to talk about my experience. No one called me back so I emailed again asking to talk about my concerns and my experience. It's now been two months and no one has responded to me. I'm disappointed that they have handled a poor experience in such an unprofessional way. If a refund isn't available then they should be open to hearing about my experience so they can learn from it, but nothing. I strongly recommend you avoid this salon.

I searched Yelp for a reputable salon with a stylist I could trust and decided on this one. I…read moregenuinely appreciated the skill level and knowledge of the stylist I booked with. They worked carefully to keep my hair strong, soft, and healthy throughout a 9+ hour treatment, which I did value. However, despite the time and effort, I left my appointment very disappointed. Prior to booking, I clearly discussed the details of what I wanted. When I arrived, I specifically reiterated that I did not want my roots touched and that I wanted a high ombré. By the time my hair was fully bleached, the day was over and I was exhausted. Unfortunately, I left with jagged, block-like streaks that stood out dramatically and vibrant fuchsia colored hair instead of a pastel pink. Thankfully, I was offered a complimentary correction and returned the following week. However, at the start of that second appointment, I was told I would need to pay to have my roots fixed because it was "not what I asked for." and refused to correct my hair to pastel pink. This was confusing, as I had clearly communicated my request multiple times and had even shown reference photos. At that point, knowing I would have to pay either way to correct my hair, I decided to proceed. In total, I ended up paying nearly $800. I'm still unsure how there was such a miscommunication. I was clear and precise in my explanation, repeated myself several times, and provided visual references. Additionally, I was given a quote prior to my first appointment. My stylist was aware of my starting color, the desired shade, and what the process would require. Yet after nine hours, the final price was several hundred dollars more than originally quoted, reportedly due to extra product and multiple batches being needed. On top of the second appointment? The lack of cost transparency was disappointing. Overall, I was disappointed not only with the final result but with the experience as a whole. I've had this exact same service done at other salons in the past without spending that many hours, paying that much, or walking away with results I didn't ask for. My stylist was also late both times to our scheduled appointments. Unfortunately, I do not plan to return to this salon.

My hair service with Tabie was 4 hours and $500. My usual stylist for 4+ years missed my…read moreappointment last minute and couldn't reschedule for 10 days so I was stuck with gray showing. Got referred to Tabie by a stylist I used pre-2021 before she moved away. I'd been to this Old Town salon pre-covid. When I arrived Tabie had another client with color on her hair so she wasn't even close to being done. She spent lots of time shampooing, massaging, cutting, and styling the other client while I waited and waited. To color (one color, no highlights) and cut my hair plus remove & replace 9 shoulder length tape extensions took 4 hours. I've never had a hair service take that long. And she cut my hair too short which I couldn't tell until it was dried. Now my 2 month old $400 extensions are also cut too short. When I complained she said she left my hair longer than I'd asked. Oh right - you know better than me how long I wanted my hair. Then she said it was $500 for the service! I was shocked. My fault for not asking beforehand but I had no idea it could be that much. I've been paying $300 + tip which I thought was a lot. And I could tell she just pulled that number out of her "back pocket" - literally made it up on the spot. I just wanted to get out of there so I paid and left. I texted after to ask why it took 4 hours. She said her other client was "only 15 minutes late" and it normally takes her 2-1/4 hours just to cut and color. I've never had a hair appointment take even that long even with extensions. And that doesn't explain the other 1.5 hours I was there! I can't remember a worse experience at a hair salon. It was after a long day at work and I was exhausted. I wanted a relaxing time and this was anything but. The other stylist's client had her child there screaming and running all over the salon. Then I found out Tabie trained my 2021 stylist, they've been friends for 20 years and almost bought that salon together. I feel I was set up and taken advantage of. My 4-year stylist was in on it too - they're all buddies. I'll never go there again and now must find a new stylist I can trust. If you think to go here better ask beforehand how much $ and how long it will take. And don't tell her to take off 2 inches because it will turn into 5!

I am biased! Having been a client of Jessica's for about 10 years to see her open her own salon…read morehas been amazing to see. Ok now that is out of the way on to the salon and service. The salon is a very clean, minimal but pretty aesthetic. Everything is light metal accents, white and airy. It is so pretty inside. The chairs you sit in are super comfortable. I forget I am even in a salon chair while sitting in them. It was one of the first things I noticed. There is a refreshment bar with coffee, water with fruit in it, snacks and they have other drinks they offer (like sparkling water) that are not kept in the front. The robes are easy to put on (some salons have robes with all these ties and loops it is impossible to get them on properly) and cute hangers to hang a jacket or shirt on if needed. There is plenty of natural light so you can see what your hair is going to look like as it is being done. No need for a big reveal at the end in "good or natural light." There is also a small parking lot that I have never had issues finding parking in on the 4 occasions I have been here. The shampoo chairs are also comfy. They recline back and do not hurt your neck. They have a poof underneath to put your feet on (I wish it had a traditional foot stool/rest but that is only because of my old lady bones). Jessica and her co-owner Chelsea are so kind and I am lucky enough to know some of the other stylists in the salon (and have also had my hair done by them) and they are all super friendly and passionate about hair and you loving your hair and getting what you need/want. No upselling or product forced upon you but if you need product they carry 2 amazing lines (Milbon and El3ven. They smell great and make your hair look amazing! (I have not purchased the products, I just know from them being used on my hair in the salon). If you are looking for a relaxed hair experience you can't go wrong with any of the stylists here.

Always wonderful service! I have been with Jessica for many years. Her work is impeccable.read more
