I went for a shampoo, cut and conditioner and came out wanting to cry. The shampoo was ok & the cut wasn't what I asked for. I was told that the deep conditioning treatment required heat, but the girl who did the shampoo, put on some kind of conditioner and said "We'll let that sit for a few minutes and then rinse it out. Another stylist overheard me respond that I was told it required heat and realized the girl didn't know what she was doing, but covered it up and said to just stick me under a dryer for 15 minutes. I was pretty sure she didn't use the deep conditioner, but didn't think it would make too much difference. When I started feeling over heated, I checked my watch and realized it had been 30 minutes. I pushed the dryer up to stop cooking my head (my face was beet red by then). She noticed I'd stopped the hair dryer and said I still had just a few more minutes, so I reminded her that it was only supposed to heat for 15 minutes. My hair was still wet, so I couldn't tell how the cut was going, but she finished in about 5 minutes and said I was done. I couldn't believe she was going to have me walk out with wet hair, and was informed that it would be another $25 just to blow dry my short hair. (I've never been charged to dry my hair) when I said that, she countered with, "Well, we can charge less if I don't use the big brush"..... I had no intention of giving her any more money and just decided not to ever go back. I dried my hair when I got home and it didn't look any different than when I went in. The last time I went there I was quoted $45 for a few highlights. When the girl got done she said it was going to be $65, because she misunderstood and thought I asked for all-over highlights. I've gone here many times over the years and never had any of these problems before, but since my last trip, I've talked to several friends who have had similar experiences here. Went in for a quick cut. My barber won't be available for a bit due to covid. Needed my head shaved and sideburns faded. I've been here a half a dozen times and the last two I've had Sandi cut it. I'm an average guy and am not super picky about my hair but Sandi definitely did an awesome job. I think the best thing was that there wasn't that awkward conversation you normally get during a hair cut. I was much more comfortable with Sanid cutting my hair than anyone else who has done it in the last 20+ years. read more

Women avoid. Great if you're a guy. Men get their hair cut within minutes of arriving. Women get to wait for one stylist. I arrived before 3 men, who all told the woman at the front desk they hadn't called or made appointments online. They all got their hair cut first. Great, if you are a guy but if you are a woman wanting a simple trim you are going to wait. The woman at the front desk wasn't even apologetic. It's clear there are two lines, there were multiple stylists doings the guys hair and one for the women. I was told the wait was 20-25 min and after 30 minutes I was no closer to getting my hair cut then when I arrived. However the wait for guys' hair cuts was less than 10 minutes. It's fine if the want to do that but be HONEST. Tell women that's there's only one stylist available you are to be waiting one heck of a time for a simple trim. read more

I have a skin condition called psoriasis and I've had it for about 20+years. I used to go to another hair salon until they didn't feel comfortable cutting my hair. I started going to this supercuts for a little over 1 ago. and I would get my hair either cut or trimmed every few months, cause I didn't like it long. And with my condition it's hard to maintain. I walk in and they were maybe 2 people before myself and my aunt(who also called her hair cut, by a different stylist). Anyways, we put our names down, and wait... and wait.. and wait. Finally my aunt gets called, and I'm still waiting. Maybe 5 minutes later I get called, and I can tell she already didn't want to work with me. I told her I wanted a bob hair cut. My hair was already shampooed and conditioned, so there was no need to do that. She looked at my scalp. And she looked uncomfortable, and said she would need to need to comb from the scalp. I told her every other time I come in they just comb it from a few inches from my scalp and did it that way. They would spray my hair to get a little bit wet, comb it, used their fingers to get parts of it, then cut.. pretty simple right??? Nope.. she said she needed to get approval from her manager. Mostly I am reviewing Ping. She has been cutting my hair at the West Simi Valley location on Erringer for at least the last 10 years. She always remembers the little details of our conversations. How's your gf (always knows her name), how's everything at the new job, how's the new car treating you, and so on... She knows what I want and cuts my hair perfectly every time! She even washes my hair after she's done for no charge. I'm guessing it's because I'm a regular, but she has done this as long as I can remember. This Supercuts has been cutting my hair since I was a little kid. My dad used to take me here since I can remember. I've had other people at this location cut my hair when Ping is out, and I've been satisfied, however, it's not the same without Ping! Highly recommend her! I stumbled upon this place a few months ago. Patty did a wonderful job following the lines of my previous cut even though it was quite outgrown. She listened very well and did exactly as I hoped. Miraculously I said 1/4 of an inch an I got just that. Other places have always taken way too much off. Couple of weeks ago I went back, my first cut was better than the second, but i feel i didnt do as good a job communicating my needs, however, I will continue to get my hair cut with Patty. Suggested improvements: consistency on cuts and service. First time I was offered a shampoo but no rewards card. Second time I was given a rewards card but not offered a shampoo. read more

My son, daughter, and I have been getting great haircuts by Ping at this Supercuts for the past 8 years. I highly recommend her! My daughter keeps her hair long, and Ping has helped her adventurously try many different styles over the years -- layered, angled, long bangs, etc. She often brings in a celebrity photo (with similar hair and face shape) and asks Ping to cut it similarly. My daughter is always able to style her hair so that it's full and gorgeous. I used to pay $50 and up for haircuts at a Ventura Blvd salon, until that just became too expensive for my budget as a single mom. After finding Ping, I didn't miss them a bit! I kept the same style (long with bangs) for years, until in 2008 I found myself laid off and looking for a new job. I went to Ping needing a fresh look. I had no idea what to change to, so I asked her, "Can you update my hair to make me look young and professional?" She answered, "I'll give you a cut I've seen on some TV news anchors lately." Snip, snip, and I was transformed! Side-swept long bangs over gentle layers became my new style. Kristy is a hair artist. For years I have had the luxury of having a daughter that is a fabulous hairdresser and I tend to be very picky with my hair. The only problem was that she has a salon in Vegas so I would have to wait until we met to get my haircut. It had been a couple months and I desperately needed a haircut, so along with my father and mother who also needed haircuts, I decided to go to Supercuts and observe the hairdressers and choose the best in my opinion. I observed Kristy giving a haircut to a little kid with difficult hair,ashe had a cowlick in the front and the back of his head.Kristy was very meticulous, using both a scissors and a trimmer.She was so meticulous and focused on every inch of his head, almost as if she was creating a sculpture.When she was done the child looked absolutely great, so I decided to give her a try. All three of us were totally pleased with our cuts and not only on that day, but also for the next weeks.We are so glad to have found Kristy.She is a hair artist and I would highly recommend her! I went in for a haircut and was seen by Ping. She was courteous and greeted me. As she started cutting my hair she continued to tell me how over processed my hair was. She kept overstating how my hair kept breaking in her brush and how damaged it! I was humiliated by her comments. A customer should not be belittled while paying for services. She kept insisting I would not find it for lower. "Has she not heard of Amazon"? She didn`t even cut my hair in the fashion I showed her from a picture. A simple cut too! My high school son who has been growing out his hair for practically a year a certain way went to have the sides cleaned up came out with inches off the top. The operator indicated she would just trim the top no more than 1/2 inch which turned out to be at least 3 He is devistated! Terrible trim! After calling when he got home, the manager did give a refund and wanted him to come back to see if she could see what went wrong? Appreciate the gesture but you can't glue back hair. The lady was super nice but the people there just don't know how to cut black peoples hair. I had to explain to the lady what I meant when I wanted pointy side burns and also had to show her photos. She was could not perform a proper line up on my hair line. And my hair Does no look much different from when I went into to shop. Really feel I wasted my $20 on this place. The worst part is that I called ahead and asked if they could handle fades and line ups and they laughed and said of course but when I got there they all looked confused as if I was in the wrong shop. I bring my daughter in for a trim on her bangs and ends (she never wants any other cut). This is pretty easy and I used to do this myself at home (and I still trim the hairs they miss and fix it if we get home and she is not happy with the cut after washing it) but now that she is a preteen it is nice to have 10 minutes to myself to read a book while someone else "cuts the hairs". We signed up online to receive coupons from Supercuts and in the past this location has always accepted them (nothing outrageous, just $1- off the haircut). The last time we went in I had my printed coupon and I showed it to them before the cut. I was told they would take the coupon off after they were done. 10 minutes later the cut was finished and at the register I was told they "do not take those coupons because they are too easy to fake". Really it seems to me you would spend more than $1 of time and resources faking the coupon but okay, I pulled the coupon up on my phone and still no because "email is easy to counterfeit too and they loose too much money because of this". Okay, it is a $1 not a free haircut, why would anyone invest the time to "rip them off" for $1? Well we are talking about a dollar so I paid and left BUT we will not be back because I was basically called a liar in front of my daughter over a $1 coupon and that type of disrespect is never acceptable. So once again I am trimming her hair myself and I admit I miss the nice gal at who used to trim her hair (on her own she would have gotten 5 stars even though I have to trim hairs she misses sometimes, I really liked how she respected and listened to my daughter and gave her hair care advice) BUT on principal I will not be back and I gave them a 3 because I think this is a poor management decision. This being said, what I want to say to the manager of this Supercuts is - Remember that I tell 2 friends and they tell 2 friends and so on............ word of mouth is a powerful marketing tool. I know that this is a place to get a quick, inexpensive cut. I don't really have time and money right now to invest in shopping around to find a good hairdresser. So, when I need a trim, I drop in, get the job done and I'm out the door. That there are often random clumps of hair clinging to the seats, or that the hairdressers are amateurish at best hasn't been enough to keep me away. But, today, on a Monday afternoon, I went in and was told there would be a 10 minute wait. They didn't seem to be busy, so I was a little surprised, but I figured the receptionist was overshooting the wait time so as to not disappoint the customer. Well, people kept coming in after me and being seated, so, finally, after 15 minutes, I went up to the receptionist and asked her why she was skipping over me. Her reply was that, yes, I should have been taken sooner, but it was too late now to do anything about it, and if I would wait longer, I was next. Yes, I was next because THERE WAS NO ONE LEFT. She tried to tell me that she had reused a ticket or something and that's why I just sat there while other people went ahead of me. Meanwhile, I have to wonder if I hadn't spoken up, how long would they have ignored me? Listen, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to take people in the order that they come in. I don't need to be told how you failed in doing this very basic job. I'm also really irritated that she thought it was ok for me to just keep hanging out until another chair opened. It was my time she was playing fast and loose with, and that was 20 minutes I didn't have to spend sitting in their dirty shop. She gets paid to be there. I was taking time out of my day and willing to pay for their service. But I guess the distinction is lost on her. I told her thanks anyway, but I'd be leaving. Did she apologize, ever? Nope. All I got from her was an "okay". Customer service is dead, and businesses wonder why they are struggling. read more

This is a great shop. My stylist, Kristy, is the very best, in my opinion. I have followed Kristy for over 7 years now, since I moved here from Palos Verdes. She is an accomplished stylist in both cut and color...although I do not need color anymore! Normally the service is great and the stylists work wonders, but if you get the Asian guy as your stylist, good luck. He barely even asks you what you want done and just starts cutting. I simply wanted a trim on the top and sides shorter, yet I got the top cut to half it's length, barely long enough to style how I like, and the back was uneven with the sides. Plus, did not ask for gel like all others here would, and did not use one of those refreshing warm towels to get all the little hairs off. Any other stylist is great though, obviously book an appointment for Ping if you can, she's amazing. read more

its a $15 haircut! come on...its good for the money. i need to find a new "stylist" since moving from LBC to simi - but in the meantime i got a cut here and i wasnt horribly disfigured or anything. it reminds me of going to the car wash for a $10 job, but then insisting that the poor guy that dried your car all of a sudden do a complete detail. this isnt my preferred place to get a haircut, but jessica did a good job and was fast when i needed it. when ive got a meeting to go to and need a fast cut - this will do just fine. when i decide that a $50 haircut is worth $50 again..then i'll start looking for a new "stylist" read more

My boyfriend went there for a haircut and it was a total disaster. Another hairdresser had to step in and try to fix the hack job the first girl made of his hair but it was already a disaster.
