Well.....wish I had something better to say. I went this weekend thinking I would save a few bucks and get a quick trim. I just get one length around, no layers, nothing fancy. How bad could it be? Turns out.. bad. I have multiple areas in which there is a chunk of hair that is an inch longer than the other. Check out the photo. I even pointed it out to the stylist and each time all she did was cut around the entire length of my hair again. I eventually had to just stop I would have been bald by the time she "fixed" it. My husband had to fix it at home. Needless to say, I won't be back. read more

She's knowledgeable, experienced, and sharp (pun intended ). I was lead to a better look than I had suggested, and Lora even introduced me to good products to help maintain a quality look. A shampoo and trim by Blanca for my 13 year old daughter with very healthy, unprocessed, long hair. Absolutely horrible haircut....and it was only a simple trim. It looks like it was done with kitchen scissors...choppy, uneven, and much shorter than we asked. She took more time washing her hair than cutting her hair. My daughter is still in tears...and sadly I understand why. Our bill for shampoo, haircut was $33 and I gave her a $6 tip because my daughter's (brown) hair was still wet so had no idea. $39, a devastated 13 year old about to start school, and now time & money to go get it fixed. the ladies in the salon were okay when i went in and everything was fine but i got my hair way shorter than i wanted and once i noticed it was too late to go back. every time i said where i wanted to she kept going higher up to my hair and i don't like it. i even showed her a picture for inspo and it is not the right length. it's way too short and i'm currently crying over it, honestly super cuts is overrated. go somewhere else if you don't want to have bad hair. this is just one of many bad experiences at super cuts. im super dissatisfied. read more

Haircut was not super as advertised but average so was the hair coloring. I had black dye all over ears and neck. The lady was nice who cut my hair but the older one is a bit hypocrite and always rushing the other lady to get done. I guess quantity is better than quality for her. Most likely never comeback. There are other Supercuts that really deserve the name but not the one in solana beach in my opinion. read more

Hello, Yelp! I have to drop a review for my buddy Serafina! First, I need to point out that I have probably seen 20 stylists before I found this place. Using the exact same instructions/photo, I received many very different haircuts ranging from "Zach Galifianakis in The Hangover 2" to "Ben Stiller as Tugg Speedman as Simple Jack". The look I have is easy, so this was clearly frustrating to me. Short on the sides and back, longer on top with a fauxhawk shape, and some texturing to lighten it up. Thankfully I found this location and Serafina was available! For speed, price, accuracy, and conversation, Serafina is tough to beat. I've been going to her for about a year now, and the job is always perfect. I have since moved from .25 miles away in Solana Beach to 23 miles away in Ocean Beach, and the drive is worth every penny in gas. Be specific, be on time, and you'll have a great experience! read more

I have been going to the Solana Beach Supercuts for years...and Blanca, Brenda and Lora have all been great...particularly Blanca! A few things to keep in mind though: Blanca can sometimes really bust your chops/be very funny and make you laugh a lot...when this happens, it's hard for her to cut your hair, because your head will be moving around from laughing so much! Also - BEWARE OF LORA! - she has a tendency to be a little wacko in the head....she is great at the hair styling/cutting, but she often has some VERY grand delusions of herself. (hahaha!) read more

Let me start by saying I RARELY give out 1 star... I understand Yelp ratings and reviews are important for businesses so I write this with the intention to hopefully save someone time and money by not coming to this Supercuts. Disappointed would be an understatement. I came in for a haircut for my son. Without going into unnecessary detail, we came out (after me asking for Sara to fix it twice) 10 minutes later with such a bad cut, I'll need to take him to get a new haircut tomorrow. On top of it all, I realized she overcharged us for the kids cut after I looked at the pricing on the website. Supercuts... I had an appointment yesterday at 1:45 during my lunch break, I arrived there on time and after a few minutes of waiting was told they were running 15 minutes behind. I went next door to CVS then came back at 2pm. I was told it would be just another few minutes. At 2:20 (35 minutes after my appointment) I was still waiting and then had to leave to get back at work on time. I totally get running 10/15 minutes behind but if it's 30+ minutes a client should be called and re scheduled! read more

I wrote a review a while back but lost that Yelp account so I'm writing another. I've been getting my hair cut here for nearly two years and it's not necessarily the closest hair salon/barber to me which should speak for itself. Laura has been cutting my hair for a while now and I've always left happy. She's very patient and willing to make minor alterations toward the end if something isn't exactly right. She and most everyone else at the salon are a lot of fun, I usually end up laughing a few times while I'm there. It's not generally overly busy though they're well staffed and I've never had to wait longer than a few minutes nor have I felt that my haircuts have been rushed. I've gotten my hair cut at a few fancy salons in the past and I can't say that those haircuts were any nicer than what I consistently receive at the Solana Beach Supercuts. I'll be coming back as long as I'm in the area. read more

There is no point in calling ahead at this location - the receptionist does not write down your name until you walk in... Then you are stuck behind the masses already waiting. What's the point of me wasting even more of my time by calling? This has happened on more than one occasion to both me and my boyfriend. Today, he made an appointment for 3:30pm, showed up at 3:20pm, got placed on the list (even though he should have been on before), and he wasn't called until 4:15pm. Seriously? I have been coming to this Supercuts to get blowouts for years and feel terrible that I've never posted a review! The gals here are great, especially Brenda and Blanca who have been here a long time! They make you feel like one of the family, as there really are a lot of regulars and lots of talking and joking around. They do a great job and I always get tons of compliments after having my hair styled by them. I usually go in before I'm going to a big event or going to be on TV, and they always make my hair look great. Just as good as DryBar and way less $$$ read more

I went there on a Sunday morning, and waiting time was about 30 min. The hair stylist did almost nothing on my hair, she spent about 2 minutes on me. When I thought she was starting to cut my hair, she told me she was already done. So when I went home, my husband told me I looked exactly the same. Additionally, they charged one extra dollar on my credit card, which I'm not going to waste my time complaining about that, but it's very annoying. I think Supercuts in UTC is much better service than Supercuts in Solana Beach, with no doubts. read more

...just had both kids haircut at SB Supercuts. Overall, we were all very happy with them. We called Saturday morning for a same day afternoon appointment. There were no issues with our requested appointment time or delays upon arrival. In fact, we arrived five minutes late and they went straight into their hair cuts with no wait. I was very happy with how friendly they were. My 4 year old was really difficult. He'd decided he never wanted another haircut. They were able to get it done with a smile on his face (and a balloon afterwords). I gave them 4 stars only because i would have liked both their haircuts a little shorter and a little sharper...I just didn't say anything at the time because with kid's you really just get one shot. They are Overprice for the smallest things. I went in to get it evens out and they didn't even try to smooth out the sides.
