This is such a fun place - we came for dinner on a gorgeous summer Friday night around 7:30 and didn't have to wait for a table. There are multiple seating areas, including outdoor seating. Cool ambiance with lots of plants, fun wallpapers, and varied seating. Service: Fantastic - our server was so friendly and attentive, and gave us great recommendations. Food: Delicious. There is a LOT to choose from on the menu, so everyone in your group will find something to like. We ordered several things (primarily appetizers) and shared them. Food is very flavorful! The benny's are a little small compared to other items, but delish - eggs were perfectly poached. The eggplant döner is great - rich eggplant against fresh herbs, sweet apricot amba against sharp hot sauce, on crispy chewy bread! The trifle is wonderfully chocolatey with lots of mousse, a little sponge base and light whipped cream. What a great venue!! Was looking for a more casual dining spot for drinks and snacks for a large group, and Supergeil came highly recommended. Located in Corktown, it is convenient to find *free* parking around, and there are plenty of other eateries nearby to check out. The ambience is fantastic, with eclectic vibes both in the indoor and outdoor seating. We opted to sit at the patio due to the good weather, and we appreciated the large art mural to take pictures in front of (lol). Regarding the food, we were impressed with the large variety of options for both snacks and drinks (lots of mediterranean inspired). I opted to split some of the fries, and the georgian soup dumplings. They were both super tasty -- but only notable thing is that the soup dumplings for one person was a bit on the smaller side of an entree, so if you're hungry I would recommend getting a sandwich (they're huge!). Lastly, I got the 'whoopty do basil' drink which was so yummy and perfect for those who love a fruity, refreshing cocktail! Another great restaurant in Corktown. Server was super helpful in recommending menu highlights. We tried the Lutenitza , lamb meatballs, chicken schnitzel salad, and lemon dill potatoes. My favorite was the Lutenitza which is very similar (if not the same) as muhammara. So many interesting spices and flavors!! Wow, this place has such a cool interior and interesting menu. We started off with a couple carafes of coffee. If we hadn't all been hungover I would have loved to have tried a brunch cocktail, but it wasn't in the cards. However I did enjoy my glass of fresh grapefruit juice (how rare to have this option)! The doner kebab meat (let's be honest that's what we went there for) was really good. Probably best in the area and had a unique flavor. The bread portion of the sandwich was lacking a bit, BUT, the benedict breakfast option was definitely a winner. I enjoyed my spinach banitza. It's a nice light option with a pleasant lemony flavor and flaky filo. Just perhaps not what you're looking for in a hangover cure. :) The side of potatoes was maybe my favorite thing we had. A nice mix of perfectly crispy potatoes, some soft, and bits of onion and smoky diced pepper. Mmmmm. I really wish I knew how to make this myself. Great atmosphere, unique dishes. The sandwiches are definitely tasty. The apps we got were just a bit oily though. We got the beet salad and the red pepper dip. The pita or bread served with the dip also has a lot of oil so if I had any suggestion it would be to omit the oil on the bread it's just messy to eat and feels greasy. When you first walk in, the gorgeous interior really welcomes you in, with all the plants and the way the tables are set up. We sat at the bar because we were just there for a drink. Supergeil is a unique gem in Downtown Detroit industrious Corktown area. From the opening of the magnificent door to all the interior decor you can tell that there was a lot of intention put into the vibe of this place. The food I think is Turkish in origin and they serve you right away. We went on a Thursday afternoon and patio area was full swing. I wish I took more photos of the interior but this is about the food! I wasn't starving today and I've been here in the past and had their lamb and beef doner which is amazing. I especially love their bread which I believe they make in house. I haven't had deviled eggs in sometime and they sounded good and were served with a bit of dill and salmon roe. I'm use to my grandmas with the paprika and mayo and all the seasonings. They mostly used olive oil to get the eggs whipped. While pretty to look at the flavor was pretty non existent. But a little salt and pepper helped carried it along. I also had the beet and carrot salad which I actually was not expecting it to come out shredded. I am not big on beets but I really enjoyed it. My body really wanted something refreshing and light and this really took care of those needs. The description said it was beet and carrot but additionally there were apples, clementine, lime and sunflower seeds. So I wasn't expecting the mountain of shredded veggies but I think it complimented everything well and all the flavors came through. I also got a cup of coffee and the end. They use Hyperion coffee and it was really good. They give you cream in on of those small metal pourers but they don't fill it up all the way which I appreciate because I feel like it's a waste when they fill it. And then the sugar cubes were raw brown sugar cubes (for a moment I thought...croutons?) Food is decent the vibes are outstanding. I would love to come here and work sometime as well and they supply a lot of outlets all around. So if you have your laptop I'd hit up Supergeil. read more

Had a great experience here while traveling on business. I had the beet salad and tinned mussels. The salad was citrusy and refreshing. The mussels came with a bunch of nice accompaniments and hit the spot. This was exactly the type of lighter meal I was looking for. Seeing the other patrons' food was equally encouraging. The bartender said they are typically known for their doner offerings and from what I saw it makes sense. Drink program is excellent. The beer offerings are slim but, if you know McSorleys in NYC, you will enjoy the dark or light options. Just like McSorleys they come in pairs. Two glass mugs per order ($8). This is a Georgian, Turkish restaurant. I thought this was a strange combo until I realized both countries border one another. I had lamb meatballs; Doner beef and lamb sandwich; Georgian soup dumplings; beef Manti, and Kachapuri. I really enjoyed the Kachupuri. What a flavor blast. Traditionally, it's stuffed bread with cheese. They made a deconstructed version. The Georgian soup dumplings were solid. They were plated over sour cream and dill. Stopped in here while waiting for a table at another cork town restaurant. Very cute atmosphere. I ordered the Mediterranean mule. It was pretty good, not to sweet. I would have preferred just a touch more sweetness. Sat at the bar and the staff were super nice and very quick to help me. The drinks menu was extensive but I found it lacking in regards of anything standing out/sounding good to me. I'm sure the drinks are all fabulous but it was very trying to find one I wanted, so the mule was more of a settle than something I really desired. I am obsessed with this place! Supergeil brings an exciting and refreshing take on Eastern European food right in the Midwest! I walked in to an absolutely stunning restaurant with vibrant energy, that can definitely be attributed to the artsy wallpaper and floating plants. The staff is amazing and even walking in when it opened, they were exciting to have us in and brought some much needed energy Sunday morning. I got the Balkan Poached Eggs and wow do I wish I could swim in this delightful sauce, with some slight spice and a freshening garlic yogurt sauce. The zaatar pide was a perfect vessel for the beautifully poached eggs and I can't stop dreaming about them. I love this place. It is such a cool vibe inside. It is hard to describe but there is a few different rooms and one has a giant live tree in the middle. There is also a bier garten / patio outside that is dog friendly and there is some seating on top of a shipping container that has a raw oyster bar inside which is so cool. The food is super unique especially the tin cans of different seafood. The mussel one was so good. There are tons of good dips and sandwiches. They also offer a brunch menu. The drinks are also great especially the flavored gin & tonics. The staff is some of the friendliest people ever time I am there and bring my dog water when we sit outside. I usually haven't needed a reservation for weekend outside seating but it was busy during Sunday brunch. There is a big bar as well. read more

3 friends and I had lunch today May 21. 2 people ordered the burgers they said it had a good flavor and enjoyed them. My other friend and I ordered the lamb and beef donor with the soup. I've seen some negative reviews, but they hit all the marks for us. We did not get drinks. Just water and coffee. They only serve drip coffee. Nothing fancy but it was a really good cup. Our wait staff was very attentive and informative. It was our first time there and she gave solid recommendations. We had the bean salad and I had the Mushroom Khachapuri. It was delicious! My friend had the Lutenitza. Flavor bomb all around. The only misfire was the Moroccan Beignets. The mint and orange was lovely, but the beignets were dense and the smell and flavor reminds of carnival fried treats. Wish they were better. We will be back. I recommend that you get at least one meal for two to get all of the yummy pickles and salads. And you'd be making a big mistake if you didn't try the Georgian soup dumplings. They were spectacular! The only cons were minor: The fish and chips didn't come with much fish in it, we thought we received just a plate of fries. And the lamb meatballs (pictured with the pita and hummus) while insanely delicious, were kind of small.
