The ambiance was cool. Love the decor. Chill, relaxed old world vibes. The service was okay. They were slow taking our order. Slow with the drinks. Not very personable. The food was okay at best. Hummus, lamb meatballs, pita bread, and the sea bass were good but nothing special Green beans, potatoes were not good. Deviled eggs okay. Best thing was the burger and brownie. BOMB! Won't return though....

Coffee cute but cold

Very cute spot right off Michigan Ave near Central Station. This is my third time here and I have to say the food has improved tremendously in the last few years. The potatoes are the bomb. The Doner sandwich was delicious with really interesting St.Patrick day roast beef and sauerkraut combination. I enjoyed the sangria. We liked the eggplant fries and the beet salad. We came in with a large group right after the Corktown 5k races. Our waiter was very patient dealing with a bunch of slightly hangry girls. We were celebrating a birthday...My only pet peeve is that they brought out dessert before serving coffee or clearing the table.

Deviled Eggs--mmmmm

Always forget how GOOD they are, til I go back again. We shared the deviled eggs (4 halves to an order), the Chop Salad & a spicy Lamb Doner, and everything was really fantastic. Great server, she was really terrific. It's so cute inside! I had a City Clouds, which was delicious, so crispy, herbaceous & fresh & my husband had Dirty Don's, very 'Mai Tai' flavor he thought and very well done. Highly recommend Supergeil!

The space is beautifully decorated. They have a unique menu with great drinks and service. They have a pretty large craft cocktail menu. Our waiter, James, answered lots of questions about drinks and made suggestions based on what we told him we liked. They were all a hit. As for the food, the hummus was some of the best I've ever had. I had the donor kebab which was good with a nice sauce but over salted. I would've also preferred it on their flatbread (that came with the hummus) instead of the ciabatta it came on. We also got an appetizer with pomegranate, the lutenitza. It was unique and delicious. A dining companion got the ravioli, and another a burger. They both said they were good, but nothing spectacular. I tried a ravioli and thought it was pretty good. The fries were a disappointment. Will definitely be back for the appetizers and the drinks.

Khachapuri- sausage and pepper

Where do I start? Has to be the best meal I have had in years. Maybe the best meal I've ever had! The restaurant is so beautiful and thoughtfully decorated in every corner. The music, greenery, art and the natural light coming in created a beautiful and calming feeling, perfect for a Sunday brunch date. Our server was so sweet, and she made great suggestions! We started with drinks, an aperol spritz and a vodka martini. For a starter, we got the hummus. Hands down the best hummus and best pita i have ever had. Both so delicious. For entrees, we both opted for khachapuri- his the sausage and pepper, mine the mushroom. They were phenomenal! My first time having khachapuri. Now I need to learn how to make it at home- although I'm sure it would be nothing like what we received here.

So glad I finally was able to stop into Supergeil! I'd been wanting to try it for so long. They have a great location in Corktown and the drinks they make are made with Two James, which is right across the street. The menu has a lot of great options for vegetarians and tapas style or mezze style. We ordered the labneh, deviled eggs (without the salmon roe), the red pepper dip and I also got some soup. Our friends loved the food they tried. The interior is nice and modern and welcoming with hanging plants. I can't wait to go back!

Zaatar pide

Beautiful restaurant and decor, very kind and attentive staff, and the food was 10/10. The lutenitza dip with the zaatar pide was awesome. The deviled eggs were good too but nothing crazy. The best bites of the night for us were the eggplant fries and the shrimp and crab dumplings. The branzino is cooked beautifully and has some great pickled vegetables on it. The drinks are strong and very tasty.

Came here for a nice brunch with a larger group of people. We ordered a few apps, coffee, and entrees. Server was excellent and checked in relatively often. Food was delicious. I had the salad I thought it was outstanding for an iceberg lettuce based salad. The beignets were soft and fluffy. They had supremes oranges which were also surprisingly a hit. The only thing that was a little odd was food service like when things came out of the kitchen. It seemed like the kitchen was sending food out by food item and not by party. This would be great if the entire party ordered the same thing. Unfortunately we did not and so it made out eating time longer than expected as well as some people getting food much sooner than others. I appreciate the small kitchen and the well made food but food expo was a little off.

Chicken schnitzel

When I first started noticing this place I thought what an interesting menu. Such a wide variety of food from Mediterranean to Eastern European it was definitely interesting. I decided to bring a group of senior citizens here for a monthly lunch club and have to admit a little nervous. It couldn't have gone better from the food to the service they loved it all! I chose the chicken schnitzel I think it was called. It was a pounded chicken breast fried crisp on top of one of the best salads made of head lettuce I've ever had. It was very good and fresh tasting. We tried a couple desserts the tres leche cake and bumpy cake. Have to say wish we would've just gotten the tres leche cake it was amazing while bumpy cake was average. Would definitely come back another time. Try it it's well worth it.

Very nicely decorated restaurant with a good vibe. Our server was very excellent - friendly and attentive. We started with a hummus and it would have been better without the heavily handed olive oil and green sauce that topped the hummus. The chicken in the pita sandwich was very good, just wish there was more of it. It was a very spicy sandwich with red jalapeños so if you like spice, you will definitely like this sandwich.

Lamb meatballs, light beer and G&T
Casey M.

Love love love it here! An amazing staff, always super friendly and great food/drinks! We stopped in for HH yesterday and the options, the portions, the taste were all amazing. I always get the classic light beer (when you order the light/dark beer, you get two mugs at a time, and if you ask you can do one light one dark) as personally I feel it goes with every dish - but we also got the daiquiri and the G&T which were both awesome. Curtis, our bartender, was great and always kept our drinks and stomachs full. The burger was juicy, simple and delicious, the Lamb doner was to die for, we also god the flavorful tomato red-pepper bulgur and the lamb meatballs. I'm glad I didn't get the fries because I would've been rolling out of there. Now I need to go back to try the other half of the HH menu! Amazing experience as always, can't wait to go back! The space itself is nestled in a cute corktown building, right on the Main Street. There's ample free parking on the Main Street and side streets. It's lively but always an enjoyable experience, the friendliness and excitement of the staff really sets the Supergeil experience apart.

Shakshuka
Lauren S.

Took my best friend here for her birthday lunch and it was the perfect place! This was our first time here and we were amazed with the beautiful decoration and the overall aesthetic of the restaurant. We split the shakshuka and the pork belly egg's benedict which was both flavorful and rich. Definitely order the pita (the pita on its own is divine too) to eat with the shakshuka since it only comes with two slices of toast which is not enough for the sauce. The eggs were perfectly runny and the pork belly was not fatty which I prefer. We were taken care of the entire time, the service was great. I'm excited to come back and try their other dishes!!

Nate and I stopped in on our most recent visit to Detroit and had a lovely experience. The space is tucked away but had a surprising amount of outdoor space--we were there in January but I'd love to come back in the summer. We were greeted right away and given a spot near the bar. The menu includes cocktails, lots of wine, and several tasty food options. It was quite busy inside, so it took a bit of time for our server to come over to us, but we weren't in a rush. They had ten cocktails on their list and I tried the bullet proof soul and Nate got the negroni alla perra. The ingredients list for some of the cocktails include things I've never heard of, but at a place like this, I just know it's going to be good. Our drinks were perfectly balanced and very tasty. We also ordered the mortadella sandwich to split--this was delicious. It was pretty messy, but worth it. It was perfectly toasted and full of mortadella. Everything on the menu sounded delicious and I would love to try more of the food options. Can't wait to visit again!

Our server was very welcoming and helped to set up our food order into courses that allowed us a very relaxing evening Cocktails were really good. I had a Last Word and it was very well done. The restaurant is decorated very nicely with warm wood trim. The bar area looked stellar and very French-bistro like. I will sit there next time No so Highs Food was good, but just OK. Between the two of us we had the beet salad, burger and steak tartare. Burger was good, but not the best smash burger that I've had. Beet salad was fine, however the cream cheese was a bit overpowering against the orange oil. It was dying for some citrus. Steak tartare was a bit dry, meaning that a small dab of olive oil would have added to the richness and overall mouth feel. I did not really taste the egg although I did see a dab of yolk on the tartare. Needed a bit of salt also to enhance the taste Menu was small, but it did cover a cross section of French bistro dishes. All in all, I thought it was a bit overpriced. So I will have to consider returning for a full meal. I would come back for a burger and beer at the bar.

I was very pleasantly surprised! The space is beautiful, classy, and airy. We sat at the bar and had a nice chat -- the music was at a good volume. I only ordered wine -- their wine list is alright. Not bad for a bar that's clearly not wine-focused. My wife and a friend had cocktails and they both were good, particularly their espresso martini. For food, we shared patatas bravas, tortilla española, and croquetas de jamon, and they were all delicious. I'd legit come back for a full dinner. My only reason to not give this 5 stars is the drink service was very slow, even though the place wasn't busy. They could have been upfront about this, but our waiter didn't tell us until after bringing us drinks, letting us see the menus, and after he started to take our orders. We essentially had to ask---what *do* you have? One pet peeve of mine is that they give everyone low ball glasses for water with no ice and a single, narrow carafe of water for the entire table. We had to continuously ask for more water. I tried the espresso no-tini ($11), a mocktail. It was good, but came in cordial glass and was essentially just a shot of chilled espresso. The setas ($14) were listed as a local wild mushroom blend with garlic and lemon. It was probably about a half cup of mushrooms, grilled, and served in a saucer. Finally, the charcuterie y queso ($21) was meat, cheese, sourdough, mustard, pickles, and honey. Everything was very salty and with no variation. It needed balance with a soft cheese, spice, or more sweetness. My charcuterie plate didn't come out until about an hour plus after we ordered, after multiple asks. It's hard to justify the delay when it's just hard cheese and meat, they didn't have to cook, and there were few other customers. (Essentially, we forgot). I still had a wonderful time with my friends in a beautiful space, but I wouldn't come here to eat again. The menu is elaboratey described dishes that come in very small portions and with ingredients that don't live up to the names.
